Sometimes I turn it on to fall asleep to. Its one of my familiar relaxing night habits. Rhoda, MTM , Preachers, The Bible, old B&W movies, thunder and rain. The 70s were so nice. And I need to listen to talking quietly to keep my mind busy in the right direction instead of stress.

@@RepentfollowJesus Sleep is crucial for health, no question. I have used a white noise machine for sleep since my college days (at least thirty years ago). It pushes away distracting sounds and lets me drift off to slumberland. Today these white noise and brown noise sounds are available as apps like "Sleep Jar"---- for the phone and tablet and PC, very convenient.

I wish i could show you one of my pics from the mid 80s. Total Rhoda style. Hats were easier though. I still wish 8 could learn some of her more intricate scarf ties. I woukd have worn them then . And now as it looks like I am losing my hair at the ripe old age of my late 50s. Its been falling since 81 and picked up speed around hysterectomy time in my 40s. Hmm maybe that has something to do with it. But i would rather be bold without breast cancer than bald with it. Maybe I will get my head tattooed with designs similar to henna designs. Or a vine with flowers or who knows? Suggestions anyone? Wigs are too hot for me. Im in Texas. Its like wearing a fur coat in 110 degrees f.

The 70s furniture brings back so many memories: the macrame, plants, all that wicker and the bentwood rocker (had one; my ex had another) also the paisley cushions and wild 70s colored prints. I refuse to say that I decorate retro since technically I never (emotionally) left this era.

Harold Gould was cute and funny. He had once been a college professor and knew german and french fluently. The little boy, Donny, looks like how he'd look if he were Joe and Rhoda's kid. I don't know what happened to Rhoda and Joe's marriage...it should have continued as a good one. I remember in 7th and 8th grades (1974 & 1975) wearing those oversized short sleeved 'smocks' on top of long sleeved pullovers, like Brenda is wearing while talking about Milton. It was a fad those years, I wore that getup in 7th and 8th grade, it was that popular. We girls also wore jeans and denim shirts, kinda like the Mike Stivic look. As teens in the late 1970s, we'd say "That's the pits!" when something we hated for whatever reason, was thrown our way...current slang then.

You didn't miss anything. The script didn't establish how she had gotten his number. But during the scene it looks like Brenda is looking at the little envelope that the concert tickets are in when she dials Paul's number, so maybe it was written on that. Doesn't make sense but I'll forgive it. Now if we can explain how Ida used her magic powers to get Paul to end up at Brenda's teller window and leave his concert tickets behind, well, then we'll be clever viewers, LOL.
