Riding in the caboose on the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway

Riding in a caboose is something I have longed to do since I was a kid, and I finally got my chance at the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. Along with five of my KZfaq friends, we rented Reading and Northern caboose #92844 for the excursion pulled by Reading and Northern GP-38-2 #2013. Good morning Jamie. That was an excellent video. I really enjoyed you seeing all the fun that you were having. Seems like you fell him with a good group of people. I really enjoyed Bill the car host. Good sense of humor. Excellent views of the river and the tiny waterfalls. Very neat that they attach the engine to the caboose to give you a whole new perspective on the way back. It's nice to see you out with friends enjoying yourself!

Good evening, Dennis! Thank you so much! This group of KZfaqrs I have met are awesome! We've done a lot together in the short time we've known each other, and we've got lots more stuff in the works. The ride was awesome and Bill was a fantastic car host. We really enjoyed chatting with him, and I think he enjoyed having us on board. Lehigh Gorge is really becoming my home away from home. I enjoy that like you do the waterfront in Rockport.

Thanks! And I absolutely agree about Lehigh Gorge. Much as I enjoy the train, I often enjoy biking the trail even more. It's like a mini-vacation, and I always feel relaxed and refreshed from it (even if my legs are sore lol).

I want to ride a train. 🤔Probably put me to sleep like the one in Colorado 🤣 I am glad you are out of the house and enjoying your adventures 😁 with friends. Oh the view is great from the back , but I think I would be worried about falling off😅

Lol! Well if you fell off it would wake you up! 🤣 It has been so nice to get out and do things with friends this summer! Unfortunately they're imposing new restrictions here again so I fear I'll be back to the homebody lifestyle for the foreseeable future again. At least I enjoyed it while I could! And now that I'm stuck home I am finally going to start building my model railroad. Bought the lumber and tools to start that over the past few days, so just got to start building now!

@@gusshadleythelunaticfromar7125 they have done a lot of work on it in the past few months. Big improvement over my rides in August 2020 and May 2021.
