Can we make “Tony’s Take” a normal thing??? He’s just a normal dude full of wisdom and I appreciate all the stuff he says. I agree with all the stuff he said. People are trying to make a fortune on old beat up cars or make more off of them than what they paid and all the mods they put in are worth combined. Hwy 83 keeps it real. Tony’s good people.

You are exactly correct !!!!! I was a big chevy guy as a kid. Then life & kids - so im ready to get back into cars. Way too high. So - i got into VW beetles about 6-7 years ago. Now they are thru the roof prices as well. All because some beetle & Bus go for $ 50 - $ 100 grand on Mecum auction. Now every bonehead out there thinks they have a gold mine. The blabbering online does NOT help - just as u mentioned. Good video - keep it up.

The price of everything is going up. New truck prices are crazy. It's cool to see more people appreciating vintage vehicles. Easier for the average Joe to work on. I have to imagine the prices on side by sides is pushing the Samurais up. People are spending 20k, 30k and up and those aren't even practical on the street. Sure the Samurai isn't quite as crazy as some of the turbo offroad beasts people are buying but I bet you can still get out there and have some good fun for the money. Just picked up a 1970 Opel GT that popped up in my area to play with. Always entertained by your videos and I don't even own a Samurai.

In England they have all rotted to death - the weather kills them. The volume of Sj413 Samurai still on the road in the UK is under 100 cars, only 21 of them are taxed and on the road. But we also had the SJ410 1.0litre engine version & the non-samurai versions. But still they are mainly all dead or off-roaders. THIS is why the prices are at £6000 sterling for a nice one....... Im lucky, i found a 20 year barn find car and recommissioned it, no rust !! Thanks for all the advice, ive changed the carb, heater mod all from your advice on youtube...... AND we cant get Miller HighLife here

Trackers/sidekicks, samurais,, and even the 2nd gen trackers/vitaras are going up. Here in wv they come in 3 flavors. 1. Built and/or beautiful machines and low mileage survivors. With stupid prices. 2. Daily driver ones that show their age and mileage with some rust. Priced too high for what they are. 3. Beat to shit junked out no title mountain runners that they are done with and want to out of their yards but still want triple the scrap metal prices for.

Back when I first got my driver's license these samurai's were cheap to buy. I remember my cousin had one back in 1990 or 91 I always wanted one. Over the years I kinda forgot about wanting a samurai until I seen one on Facebook market place for 3500 I thought man I always wanted a samurai but this fella is NUTS asking 3500 for a Suzuki samurai HA didn't take me long to message him about his low priced 3500 dollar samurai. Been driving my samurai everywhere runs great just leaks oil from the crank seal and distributer. The transmission makes a whining noise only in 4th gear while climbing hill or grades. When a man buys a vehicle he can do whatever he wants with it but I wish guy's would stop modifying these samurai's to the point there no longer drivable on the roads. Best way to buy older vehicles is driving around on back country roads looking for vehicles sitting without tags stop and ask.

I bought a 92 Sidekick back in 2015 for 3500.00, it seemed like a high price at the time, but had a lot of mechanical updates and I knew I could drive it for a long time without having to spend any money on, and that has been the case. Since I bought it I have replaced the starter and the front brakes and rotors, otherwise it’s been rock solid. It has had one longstanding issue,. and that is that it has never like to start when it’s cold outside, it sputters and dies about 4 or 5 times before it slowly comes to life and gradually revs itself up to a high idle. Just wondering if anyone has a tip that why that is happening? Once it is running, it runs and drives perfectly, but getting it started has always been tough on cold days.

Bought my samurai for $5500 in Alaska… I didn’t even care if it ran, they go for $8-10k up here and usually don’t have a title and are beat to piss. Mine is rust free and already had a YJ lift on 35’s…. It was a military dude who had it. It needed some TLC but I daily it now. 🤘🏻😎

Way back when I was looking for a tracker and test drove one [several years ago so don't remember specifics] but lets say he wanted 3500 for it. It was clean, little rust and had the hard top. Drove nice, 4x4 seemed to work good. I had a friend with me and she looked in the glove box and found a two month earlier dated receipt where he had paid only 900 for it. He had done nothing to it but it was in really good shape so I told him we found the receipt and offered him 2000. He declined and I walked away but only because I knew what he had paid for it. I actually had the 3500 with me and had I not found the receipt I would have bought it [and maybe I should have anyway].

I see people on the FB groups who already have Samurais trying to inflate prices by chiming in on other's posts. The people who don't have one yet typically are just trying to find a deal. What's going to happen eventually is the Samurai will be owned exclusively by Heep owners who park them next to their Heep and never drive them. ANOTHER thing, the price elevation is also based on BS. I see Samurais for sale around Baltimore for $5k-$8k and they just sit. There's a guy who's been asking for $5500 near me for almost half a year now, hasn't moved. Same thing with a few others. There's also a JDM seller near me that's asking for stupid money for Jimnys, and they sit on FB forever. Basically, I agree with the sentiment of this video.

Well said on not zuk-blocking the lucky potential buyer. These things being cheaper than jeeps is what got me into them. Now they cost more than allot of CJs and YJs. I think allot of really is the laws of supply and demand. US only had ~200k imported. Allot of the samurai content on KZfaq gets around 5k views. Leads me to believe we have about 5k enthusiasts, and maybe that many, or twice more, that aren't all over KZfaq. These things numbers are dwindling. Compounded a bit by money being worth less due to inflation. $1000 in 1995 had the same purchasing power as $2000 today. Keep em alive and the roads and trails guys! Thank you Tony for the service you provide us. I love your content man!

Knock on doors of old sitting rigs with expired tabs, offer and buy between 3- 500.00, clean and vacuum, maybe a lil rattlecan paint job, a walmart battery and sell for 4500.00. That's how you make money on cars and have fun.

In Canada, the prices were already bonkers 10 years ago. Toyota people asking money for clapped out rusted junk, so everyone went Suzuki because there was no "TAX" associated with it, now everything is marked up. You want to complain about pricing, You could buy a R32 Skyline GTR for $10 000 Canadian, now they are selling for $45 000+ American.
