Despite its unassuming appearance, the RME Digiface AVB is a beast of an audio interface. With it, you can stream up to 128 channels of 192kHz audio to and from an AVB network. And its streams are configurable from 2 to 32 channels to accommodate a wide range of AVB devices. The included AVDECC controller software allows discovery of all AVB devices on your network, along with management of incoming and outgoing streams. Beyond that, you get RME's powerful real-time mixing software, TotalMix FX. The Digiface AVB also supplies you with remote control from your iOS device, PC, or Mac.

how do these products work with other RME products? e.g. If you own a RME Fireface UC, using the Digiface AVB can I add it to a Motu, Presonus or Digigrid AVB network? or alternatively using the Digiface Dante can I add that to a Focusrite Rednet Dante network?

@@sweetwater Do you realize that his question was pretty much ignored. He asked if the RME avb product wold work well with avb products from Motu, Presonus and others. That is exactly what everyone using AVB or wanting to use AVB needs to know but since you are focusing on Dante, your response completely ignore most of the question. I would also like to know the answer to the original question.

Can this Dante interface work with digital mixers (SQ5) to do real-time plug in processing on a laptop and going out via inserts through the Dante card on the mixer?

Hi Philip, thanks for the question! Dante can absolutely be used this way! You can use the Digiface as an interface for your mixer if you wish, but you can also use it to pipe the tracks from the computer into your Dante network so that all your Dante devices have access to the content, including other computers that have a Dante Virtual Soundcard or another Digiface. Once you get the info a Dante network, you have a ton of options when it comes to routing! If you want to dig further into Dante set-ups, just give me a ring! Hey there! No, this would not allow you to connect to a Dante system. AVB is its own standard and is different than Dante (Audinate). There are plenty of different ways to from your computer into a Dante system, but it will also depend on what systems you’re currently running and if you have any other equipment that you’re hoping to run in conjunction with the Dante system. @@sweetwater Wait... What about the Dante one... There are 2 devices there. Are you saying that the Digiface Dante cannot connect to Audinate based networks?
