22:43 he wanted to sort out what he thinks about Akane, by hanging out with Kana, talking with her he understood that he doesn't have feelings for Akane like he does for Kana for example, he likes that he feels like he can freely talk with her, that she is always real when talking with him(at the very least his inner monologue about it kinda points out that he somewhat likes Kana). So he basically just compared them at this point and understood that the only reason why he felt so towards Akane is because of her playing Ai and not because he somewhat has real feelings for her.

Even in actual movies with adult actors, it is not uncommon for 2 individuals playing romantically involved characters to have a real relationship after the fact. So in the context of teenagers on a reality show where everyone is not entirely acting, Kana's jealousy is not unreasonable.

When Aqua stutters at the start with the "A-Akane" line, in the raws he actually says the first A with katakana, before saying Akane which is usually written in hiragana. Thing is, Ai is written in katakana, so that stutter is actually him almost calling Akane as Ai. Glad you at least caught the chuunibyou line, which was sloppily translated to delusions of grandeur or whatever. Hope they left a small tl note about these details instead of just doing wonky translations

they probably thought that some people wouldn't know what chuunibyou means, which i can understand. nowadays there's a lot of new people that have started watching anime, so they probably didn't want to confuse them. but yeah, putting a small tl note would definitely work to.

@@salahudinyubi09 That's why I say tl note in my comment. Do you not know what a tl note is? You can just explain something without translating it if you believe no single word translation can fully capture the nuance of a word, that's essentially what tl notes are. It doesn't matter if you're new or not or whatever, you're watching subs meaning you can read, that's all you need to understand a tl note. It doesn't matter how long your note is, people can just pause to read the note through anyways.

On the topic of Kana and Akane being long time actors and feeling that it's real, I can definitely buy it. Akane was literally saved from death by Aqua and because of the reality dating show aspect, they weren't told to or forced to kiss so that was basically done on their own prerogative. On Kana's case she has been shown as a huge Aqua simp and yes I agree that she probably knows it's for the show but still can't help feel a certain type of way, they're all still pretty young so a kiss is kind of a big deal, maybe even more so in certain cultures. I really enjoyed the reaction and discussion that I wanted to chime in, keep it up!

Poor Kana, she’s really the only one Aqua can talk to and gives him a peace of mind. I like that this episode quickly addressed some of the things I was worried about with the kiss and Akane playing as Ai as well as the nature of their work relationship. I also liked Aqua’s monologue about lines blurring between his past life and his life as Aqua because a lot of Isekai/Reincarnation shows rarely ever get that in depth about that aspect of reincarnation. Overall peak episode and more Mem character development! 😭🔥

Well, so about why Aqua called Arima Kana to hang out with her was because he wanted to see how he acted around her and compare it to what he felt while being around Akane.. And literally in the next scene, Aqua is saying that bcz of his outing with Kana he has made sure that his feeling for Akane is not romantic.. Love your reactions! Looking forward to your reaction to future banger episodes!😄

When Aqua mentioned infantile amnesia.. Made me think ..as a baby even with the consciousness of an adult... physically his brain can only manage to do so much and his body still went through the phase of forgetting the events that happened during his infancy. .. i cant even remember anything that happened from pre and elementary school...even middle school .. So what i got from that was .. He only exprienced Ai as a mother for 4yrs in early childhood.. as he was growing he is slowly catching up to his old self and maybe losing his Identity or his image of himself as Ai's child or something..idk 😬 Edit: a very extreme case of identity crisis maybe? figuring who Ai is to him..

Is there really any "original selfs" here? Isn't both of them originally him? I think Gorou is his former self, but I don't really know how I'd define which selfs are the original ones anymore, it's just as easy for him to think "Aqua" is the original now and "Gorou" is just the prequel or something.

@@NotSomeJustinWithoutAMoustache I mean he is living a different reality. Very much different than his previous life. Think of it like this, people usually think of their memories as their own. But it's a bit different here, here he views his previous life as more of a 3rd person pov. For comparison, think of a person who has lost their memories and you're reliving it through a video recording, but for Aqua it's more blurred(partially hard for him to remember memories due to infantile amnesia) . People who has lost their memories usually retain their personality, but their 'sense of self' is distinctually different.

i think that the thing about the kisses it´s just becasuse they´re teenegers, in that period of age is where everyone starts getting all romantic and that kinda things, besides that most of them has mention that never had a romantic relationship so maybe they don´t know how to handle something unknown to them that also feels real, not just in the acting enviroment.

I actually never thought of the Idea of Akane replacing the AI and joinning B komachi that's a scary thought that maybe aka asaksa could've gone down but I'm glad he didn't because Ruby's shine in the manga continuing AI's legacy is a lot more impactful for her character and aligns with the story plus Akane's gale'la arc is so fucking good can't eait for that to be animated too

to understanding what kind of love Aqua toward Ai, we need to understand not all love considered as "sexual". Philia (Love as fan, or friend), Eros (sexual related love/ affection), and Agape (unconditional love). I think Aqua has just messed up with his perception regarding love towards Ai, or Akane. As an idol, as a mother nor as a love interest.

Akane-Chan is the best!! She was funny when Akane changed into Ai's eyes and back to her normal eyes. I'm sure there must be some kind of meaning to the stars in her eyes. I don't know anything yet. Even so, Akane Kurokawa's profiling is terrifyingly accurate. As expected of a genius actress. It's a bit disappointing for Aqua to think "Akane Kurokawa can be used". Because there was such a line. But like MEM-cho said, it might be interesting if Aqua and Akane become real lovers. And I was surprised that one of the last idol candidates was MEM-cho. But in the end, I think Kana Arima suits Aqua the best. Because you don't have to pay attention to each other. Because not having to worry about it means that you can be yourself without worrying about it. to each other. Among the characters that have appeared so far. My favorite female character that has appeared so far is Kana-Chan (Arima).
