@@colleen1917 The radiologist clearly states in the video that the fractured bones were never immobilized for proper healing (i.e., plaster cast). A highly trained, experienced radiologist (over 30 years experience) can see this. If the child’s leg wasn’t immobilized, the guardian (a.k.a. abuser) never sought medical attention and left the bone to heal on its own. Casts and splints hold the bones in place while they heal. They also reduce pain, swelling, and muscle spasm. The pain that baby must have endured is frightening.

It's because he's not describing it clearly for the court to understand and make NO mistakes. The defense attorney was trying to throw off the Doc by saying he just said it wasn't a non-union fracture but his report said non-union. Heck, even when I was listening to the Doc, he wasn't super clear or great at explaining it so they wanted to make sure there were no mistaking that the two terms are different. I understood what he was trying to say but he sucked at clearly explaining it. They weren't getting the clarification they needed so they have to keep asking a different way until he can answer it clearly. Everything is recorded and there can't be any ambiguity especially when it comes to a murder case.

I don’t know if people realize this, but it’s EXTREMELY HARD for babies and toddlers to break bones. They’re almost like rubber for the first couple years of life, at least. The fact that there are so many breaks here makes me so sick to my stomach, because someone had to TRY extremely hard to break those bones.

From the numerous fractures and bruisings, it is evident how much pain the baby suffered. In death she found totally peace and bliss forever...no more pain and suffering. May she rest in peace.
@Investigativebean5 жыл бұрын
What is the defense attorney getting to? 🙄 He is saying it is a “nonunion fracture. It has not been splinted,” as in it likely wasn’t treated. She is just repeating that back, and asking him if that is what it is? It’s clear what he meant. Yes, your clients allowed this baby to go weeks with a broken arm untreated. That’s what this means.
@Shaktipaj5 жыл бұрын
The lawyer is trying to discredit his earlier testimony by implying that he referred to the break as a 'non-union fracture' , which is a label for a specific type of fracture. This is different than a fracture in a non-union (unjoined)state, as he originally testified. She is attempting to confuse the jury and the witness. That is her job. Disgusting as it may be, she is doing that job quite well. You wouldn't want it any other way, because not doing her job gives these monsters a get out of jail free card to play. Thank goodness the prosecutor makes the difference very clear. I had the misfortune of being on a jury where a lot of this type of thing was going on. It is tough watching defense lawyers trying to discredit knowledgeable and credible witnesses.

This is so unreal , a beautiful loving child can also, have a bad day. You never put bruises on a child. This is abuse and neglect in the first degree. This woman had no feelings for this little baby girl. I myself have ran into my great gradson,which knock him to the landing him on his back. Nothing bruised.nothing broke. I worried all day that I hurt him. I cried with him. Scared me so bad. If you have any feelings for this little girl, you wouldn't have killed her.

Non union/splintered fracture or not, the child had a broken arm which was healing but not yet re-joined without help of a splint. These animals beat a child and tortured her. The foster mother intimidated the sister giving evidence. Shaking her head. Reenforcing the lies she told abused child to say.
@suzanx4 жыл бұрын
She's trying to 1. discredit him and 2. prove that the non-union fracture was much older than 1-2 weeks and perhaps happened before the child was in her care. Like the Doc said, non-union fracture takes a very, very long time to heal that way so she was trying to say "Hey, the fracture could not have been done by my client, it's too old".

I found this yesterday and can't stop watching even though it horrifies me and brings me to rears constantly. As a Mom of 3 girls, Grandma of 4 girls n 3 boys I can tell you there is nothing this child could have done that incited these injuries, the beatings and being thrown hard enough to break bones and kicked and punched in her stomach and groin. This baby did not do this to herself. I see the precious baby girls I have had in my life in my mind as I listen and watch this and recall the innocence in their eyes. I can only imagine the confusion and pain this baby was going through and the look of horror and pain in her eyes. These people need to suffer the same cruel treatment. Death is too good for them. Earlier today I watched a video about this case on Kimberly Flower channel. It broke my heart and I was so sad after watching it. I have a 2 year old son, I look at him and can't imagine hurting him. I was so emotional, I gave him a big hug and kiss. I don't understand how a woman can abuse a helpless 2 year old and have no empathy. How can you get joy out of watching a baby suffer in pain and seeing her black and blue. How can yoy look at a child in your care and not want to give her love and affection but prefer to abuse her and cause her injuries. I'll never understand. Hours after watching the video, this video pop up on my news feed of videos recommended and now I'm heart broken all over again. Viewing the x-rays you can see just how little and defenseless she was. Her tiny little arms and body. Just the thought of a grown woman beating on that poor baby makes me so angry. She was 2 years old, just a baby! She deserved to be loved! She went through so much doing her short life on earth. Only a monster would want to foster a child, just to abuse them . I feel her husband is just as guilty, to stand by and watch the abuse and do nothing! He could've saved that baby! So many people failed that precious baby. I'm so angry at how cps did absolutely nothing to save her! That cps worker should be charged as well! She was fired but I feel it's not enough! She saw the scars and injuries and did nothing!😡

The doctor that reviewed that break, while she was alive testified it took tremendous force, the thickest part of the bone was broken and she was left limping in absolute pain, for days. She should have been stopped and arrested that day. She lied about it happening at gym, and no one followed through to check. She was failed, period. Her bio mom having addictions that she failed to get control of, her extended family not willing to take care of her or not being in a position to take care of her, (according to the bio mom her great grandma had a strong bond with her older sister Millie. So she had at least some family who cared about her) But Laila was tossed around from friend to grandma to another friend of bio mom to foster home and then to this last foster home. She obviously couldn't catch a break in life. It's one of the saddest and most horrible stories I've ever heard of in my lifetime. This little baby was only on this earth for 2 years !!!! I want to make a point....I have seen pictures of this child and I don't know how in the world someone COULDN'T tell something was going on. You could clearly see how thin she was & that she actually looked miserable in a couple them. You can furthermore tell from these x-rays that not only did she have multiple broken bones but she was very, very thin. I do not understand. How you can look at a child, I don't care what they do and how they act up....and want to cause them harm. I do not get it. What could this little girl POSSIBLY have been doing that could've caused these fuckers to hurt her? I read that she was acting out, biting, pulling hair, having fits. She was responding to a lot of upset in her life. Being bounced around place to place, who knows what she witnessed. That's just more reason to love her, spend time with her. Work with her. Kids want the same thing all human beings and animals do. They want attention, they want love, and they want to feel safe. That's all this little girl needed. Instead she got yelled at, and struck with a BELT, and God knows what else. I have listened to part of the testimony of her sister who, when asked what she and her sister were not supposed to do and what they would get in trouble for,....first thing she said was a lot of things. When asked specifically, first thing she said was NOT ALLOWED TO SLEEP IN THE CAR. WTF. What child does not sleep in a car. I could go on about this but I'm sure I share many people's feelings when I say this is disgusting and heartbreaking. So many people out there who would've loved to have been that little girl's Mama. At 2 Leila likely sensed there was a problem but really didn't know what was going on. It is both heartbreaking and sickening to even THINK of what these babies had to go through in that time frame. 4 months must've felt like eternity for them. And now Leila is gone and her sister is going to forever be traumatized in one way or another by that, as are the rest of her family (not to mention the first responders, nurses, doctors, and all the others that dealt with this case).....

I wish that people could try harder to speak the English language correctly. if we as people can mimic the accents of other peoples accents why can't they try to speak with better pronouncement. .

I, 2nd JohnandEve Foster…. I have a nerve injury from a car accident, any Indian doctor I encountered treated me like I was faking. Despite having a physical DENT between my scapula and spine. There was an Indian neurologist, woman and an Indian orthopedic man, both doctors acted like Americans are big babies who need to get over themselves. I’d never been treated so poorly. It sucked and delayed my care. Accident was August 15 they didn’t figure out a medication regimen or the injury until the end of November. Everyone has their own experiences

She grew up in this constant terror...how do you think she would have turned out as an adult? High self-esteem? Feeling loved? Had a great group of friends? Socially adapted? The foster mother was stonewalling the bio mother and great grandmother from exercising visitations with the baby girls. Foster Mom offered up excuses that they were sick, and other excuses. Such a heart breaking case. I do not know how it is that this baby was not wailing 24/7 from the pain of her injuries.
@suzannalopez44295 жыл бұрын
It seems to me that they must have given some heavy sedation med over the counter to that baby to bear such pain. One Witnesses mentioned baby just laying down or sitting still at the gym waiting area through out her sister gymnastics lesson. Which is not normal for a typical two year old to do. Jennifer mom also mentioned having dinner with her daughter and son-in-law at Olive Garden with the girls saying the baby wasn’t feeling well so sat on Jennifer lap through out the entre dinner. These poor babies were being tortured and I feel there is a lot cover up from their friends.

I have a 4 year old. In the 4 years of her life she had one paper like cut on her finger. These kids sustained broken arms, legs, ribs, bruises and cuts in only 4 short months they were in this monster of a woman’s care. So many people failed these kids.
@efrainhernandez89813 жыл бұрын
So my understanding is that this is a foster child. Why didn’t the agency check on these children and notice all this abuse. You can tell a child is being abused especially with the training they have to detect this. Where were they during this time? Why did it happen for so long? Foster children are usually removed from a home where the parents or parent was not able to take care of or abused them. My heart goes out to these little angels. I know what it is like being little and helpless and not understanding how someone can hurt you with so much anger even though you did nothing wrong. I will ask again, Where were the agents assigned to these children? This didn’t have to happen to them.😢

Who would wait days to get a broken limb treated? Or not treat a broken limb at all? Only an abuser. My daughter dislocated her elbow while skating. She didn't fall, she was holding my hands and all the sudden screamed. I set her down and she held her arm and cried. I picked her up off the sidewalk and ran to my car, asked my husband to grab the key, and took her to the hospital where they popped it back in; she still had her knee pads and helmet on. While we waited in the ER, she didn't move on my lap, which is VERY unusual for an active 21 month old. I was *certain* she dislocated her elbow or shoulder, just based on her being afraid to move (she was climbing over the seats 2 minutes after it was popped back in while waiting for xrays). My husband asked me if I wanted to wait a couple minutes to see if she just pulled something, but I knew, because damaging your skeleton is *painful* and I could hear it in her cry. It wasn't a simple boo boo cry. I can't imagine the terror cry that would have come from breaking her bone like that. Poor, sweet baby. You deserved more. You deserved someone who would feel your pain and prioritize your comfort and happiness above everything. I'm so sorry.

The reason Laila was resting on Jennifer those last two weeks of her life is because she was so weak and exhausted from all of the pain and suffering she was experiencing. Her body was in shock due to the multiple internal injuries and was working hard to heal the multiple broken bones and organ damage. Her liver was damaged, her bones were broken, she was in constant pain and she had no energy to eat or even walk around. The fact she was lying on Jennifer doesn’t mean she was being affectionate it means she was afraid not to. Jennifer prob dosed her up with Tylenol or pain killers and told her she better not cry before dragging her broken body out to make social appearances. It’s absolutely shocking that no one found it unusual that she had a “sick” child out at Olive Garden or events. They couldn’t know the extent of it but we all know that sick children should be at home resting. But oh no Jennifer needed everyone to see how caring of a mommy she was. Cradling her foster daughter for all to see while knowing she was in pain and suffering. It’s absolutely sick The girls never were “rough and tumble” to the point of injury in the year they lived with multiple families But suddenly in 4 months they have a combined 5 fractured bones? The jury got it right

Who cares if it’s union or non union...???? It’s a broken bone on a two year old who is now dead. No two year old should be having fractures. Period. The defense is grasping at straws.
@bobbiedangette76492 жыл бұрын
Being unfamiliar with the terms, I looked them up. "A malunion occurs when a fractured bone heals in an abnormal position. A nonunion occurs when a fractured bone fails to heal after an extended recovery period." You're right - the fact remains a two year old is dead with broken bones that should have never happened. But perhaps the types are being pointed out now to prove how long the abuse occurred, and the fact she didn't receive needed medical attention.
