You know that this nurse sees plenty of death. She still appears pretty darn distraught here. Nearly in tears if I’m judging correctly. I cannot imagine the feeling of needing to remain professional, but also still being an empathetic human being. No one should have to witness this. No child should have to go through this.

I can say as a nurse, we have to find the balance within ourselves to turn it off in order to do our job to the very best of our ability. Everyone handles it differently as long as it’s a healthy way then we tend to do ok. When it’s a child with abuse, especially severe and it involved death, it broke our hearts and majority of us will remember their name , age and sadly have flashbacks. She’s obviously been doing this for quite some time.

As a nurse myself it's these patients that stays with you. I remember every detail of the child, the spoken words of how their excuse of how the injuries were done. The verbal description from the child, their behaviour, the way they act while in presence of certain people there.. Every single detail!!!! when I've ever had a suspicion of child abuse I will immediatly remove anyone from being with that child and report my concerns to the correct authorities. My job as a nurse is to heal and protect those unable to protect themselves from injury. I don't care if I piss off any parent or caregiver. I'll do what I feel best for that child period. I'd rather have a safe, alive child than one die from my not stepping in to have it investigated. Anyone that loves a child would rather have that child safe even if it hurts having others think it's from abuse. No good parent should ever lose custody or have a child removed from their care for wrong reasons, children do get hurt and at times it can be mistaken as abuse by one not trained to understand certain injuries or behaviours of a child of any age. If you do think it's abuse you better make certain you are right as putting any child or parent through the process with dss is cruel and harmful. I've found through the years more child abuse happens while a child is in a foster home. That in itself is frightening and says dss and the legal system are dropping the ball far too often, aren't fully making sure a child in foster care is in a safe home. I see far too often a foster child suspected of being advised by foster family is questioned while the foster family is present. That is unfair and ridiculous as any child being abused will not be brave enough to speak the truth while the abuser is sitting right there. We need a change

A debate will rage about screening foster carers and vulnerable children. Foster carers by their definition will be dealing with special needs traumatised kids. Therefore the bar needs to be higher than no criminal background, clothes and a bed.24 hour CCTV must be in place. Children MUST be in daily day care so they are constantly with other adults, and so the "carers" have less stress. The children should have weekly physical screening for injuries, and bi weekly psyche evaluation. Independent weekly visitors to befriend the child must be in place. Children cannot be held "hostage" and isolated with foster carers

What makes these criminals capable of abusing a child? 🥺 I think back over the last 25 yrs., when I had my babies, my oldest son is (24) another son (23) and I have a daughter (16) I can't believe how sickening, disgusting these criminals pedophiles & all child abusers I mean we never heard about sex trafficking and not just adults but all these poor children. I agree, Leila had an arm deformity from an old bone fracture, and she had a black eye which Jennifer told her great grandma had been given to her by another toddler at daycare. She followed up that unconvincing story with "Buy the other kid got worse from Leila!" She was always gagging and Lol-ing to make herself seem like a great, sweet, fun lady when the truth is she's a monster! Toddlers don't give each other black eyes - they can't punch hard enough. Why the hell didn't someone, anyone spot that these babies were being physically abused by adults???
@helenjohnson75834 жыл бұрын
The term “old” for a fracture was clarified by one witness as meaning about 2 weeks old with a maximum of 4 weeks. Many injuries were covered/didn’t show. Many head injuries were covered by hair. When the foster mom was engaging & manipulative it would be harder to pay close attention to the child. Narcissists play people. If you get too close to the truth, they feel threatened & will steer you away from discovering their deception.

What gets me, well first off, I thought the benefit of the doubt . Not anymore..How can one not cry for this little girl, and her sister left all alone without her sister. This will be devastating for her when older. Shame on these horrible people!

Four minutes of resuscitation? Especially after getting to emergency? Some people get ten to twenty. You don't impress me at the moment. Four minutes and volunteered her for lifelink donation..yet we blame Chiba for organ harvesting. How embarrassing. I think it's just not right and Georgia outta control in my opinion.

@BrandyD17774 жыл бұрын
@@nr2578 Yes, knew it was a court reporter. I live in a big city and watch many programs, live news, etc. that show the inside of a court room. I have never seen the "mouth piece" lack of better term. As I said, it has to be sound proof (I would think) so it doesn't mess with proceedings and would be tiresome in many ways. She chose the job, but pure steel knowing what it could, most likely would been seen....
@nr25784 жыл бұрын
Oh, that is just another method of court reporting. It's a stenomask for voice writing. And yes, the microphone is padded and soundproof. The reporter repeats the testimony into the recorder. It's really convenient. 🙂

@@nr2578 Oh, cool....thanks for giving me the name of it. I like to research technology and also to see when it was made since I'm almost 40 and never knew those existed. I wonder if they have another court reporter in the same room that still types the proceedings? 🤔

The lady in the front with short hair is she speaking everything that the people in the court room are saying for the court records. Is this how they document what is said now instead of typing? Is it like a text to speech thing?
@carriewhitee2 жыл бұрын
It's a stenomask. It's a microphone surrounded by soundproof foam that the transcriber speaks into, as a replacement or addition to traditional typing on a stenograph.

@helenjohnson75834 жыл бұрын
The stenographer no longer types out the transcript but has an earpiece and speaks into the microphone “thing” (all the words that are spoken). The recording is either printed out or transcribed from the recording. (A proofreader would make corrections to the final copy in the past.) They are working almost as a translator would.

Hello, I've just started getting into the details and watching this case on KZfaq, it's terrible and tragic and I've read many comments, but none so shallow as yours. You should go back and read some of the comments from people who express appreciation for this nurse who thankfully does have a voice.
