This Army doctor had no business treating pediatric patients if he doesn't even know the weight and height percentile! This would be important in the most basic of ways, not to mention the consideration medication amounts. In my opinion the doctor failed at basic care. His Pediatric skills are poor. This baby should have been sent to the ER.
@lefthandedRN5 жыл бұрын
He didn't treat her. The PA did. The PA should have documented the weight and height and he probably didn't remember 4 years ago. I think Laila was referred to the ER where an orthopedist saw her and ordered xrays. All of them should have reported the injury as possible abuse. Poor, poor children.
@amanda48985 жыл бұрын
This doctor, claiming to be trained to treat Pediatric patients should know children's height/weight percentiles, period. Basic knowledge, pediatrics 101. No excuses.
@LadyHorn915 жыл бұрын
Amanda Taylor The visit where he saw her for vomiting, and the visit for leg pain was separated by 3-4 months. Height and weight percentiles in the urgent care setting are important only if the child is severely underweight or appears to not be growing normally. One measurement by itself is worthless. An urgent care generally won’t have well visits from the child’s pedi to compare to. The relevant growth charts are on pediatric charts in the ER, so it will be noted if the child is off the chart. Nothing could be done to address apparent problems in growth in the urgent setting, because those numbers must be compared to old growth charts to have any value whatsoever. Medication doses are based solely upon weight in children. Height is irrelevant. Where the child falls on the weight growth curve chart is also completely irrelevant. Drugs given to kids are given based upon a certain number of mg/kg of body weight. There is nothing outside on standard of care on first UC visit. On the second, the Radiologists’ association requires all abnormal findings to be documented in the report AND requires the reading radiologist to personally notify the ordering MD or PA immediately verbally and document the notification in the report. The PA in UC also followed standard of care.

I hate doctors! That poor baby, everyone failed her and sadly it started with her biological mother! We can blame everyone especially the foster parents but if her mom cared she would have gotten help got sober and took care of her children. I feel the baby would still be here.. you can tell her mom loved her, she sadly didn't love herself 🙏💔😥

Jennifer R. had to be giving this baby something to keep her subdued. She took this baby to Millie gymnastics class & another mother testified that Laila was just lying round on the bench. I have had a broken bone and I know the pain that comes with a broken bone.

You’d have thought if you’re going to court, you’d know your qualifications w dates and your dates of treating the child. An unprepared doctor is a very poor doctor. He may have missed signs because of doing only a cursory exam. That’s a screwup on part of that 2nd exam. I worked in the ER. Very lazy doctor.

I don't get this. If you knew you were going to be called as a witness in a trial--especially one involving a possible homicide of a child--wouldn't you kinda do a little homework, refresh your memory, etc etc, before going to the witness box? This guy appears to have given no more thought to the case than to what he had for dinner a month ago. Makes for a very poor witness imo.

My older sister had broken her tibia, and it was from a rollerblading accident. She was like 15, and she cried constantly even on pain meds. I remember trying really hard not to go crazy as we shared a room. I know that my parents were devastated having to see how she reacted when they reset the break. They said it was horrifying. She was in a full leg cast for a long time before a walking cast, and then required plenty of physical therapy. This was a baby. I cannot imagine. How do you even manage to be neglectful about something like that? You would absolutely know when it happened, and some idea of the cause. It’s just mind blowing. Sadly, we will never know the truth, of the full extent of this abuse.

She's a psychopath a narcissistic psychopath at that. With a multitude of other personality disorders. And he also fed off of her narcissism. Jennifer had grown up in the foster care system as had the birth mother Tessa oh, so Jennifer was in law school and was working at the courthouse and had heard of The Case of the two children and remembered Tessa bc they at one point had been in the same foster home. Jennifer was a few years older than Tessa, so Jennifer contacted Tessa acting like they were long-lost sisters and she really wanted to helped us out and take the children in and recently sold herself to Tessa, she goes to church she has a good job her husband has a good job they have a nice house that they would love to take the children in and on top of it Jennifer said that she would allow Tessa to have visitations and have phone calls with the babies & the other foster homes had not allowed this. So Tessa thinking Jennifer had her best interest at heart, asked the court house to let the children live with Jennifer and her husband Joseph, people keep blaming Tessa bc Tessa was on drugs and although that may be true.. Tessa was a victim because Jennifer sought her out like a predator & Tessa was her prey. Jennifers neighbor testified Jennifer said "This is how karma works, me & the mother were in the same foster home together and now she's on drugs and I have her babies" like who says that? Also Tessa got very suspicious because Jennifer would really only send her pictures of Millie and it was always in dim lighting & when she did send her pictures of Laila she would write comments "oh the lighting makes it look like Laila has a big bruise on her leg, lol" so Tessa got very suspicious and started recording all their phone calls.. she also contacted the caseworker & told her that something is really wrong bc the pictures she saw were very disturbing...she told the case worker that is not my baby Laila had lost all her baby fat, looked malnourished and her hair seemed to be falling out, & it was later determined that her hair actually was falling out, & that she was underweight and severely malnourished. Evrn though she contacted the caseworker and told her something was seriously wrong, It was already too late, she beat that baby so bad she ruptured her organs her pancreas intestines liver. apparently in the pictures that were taken right after Layla's death her back was covered in bruises from the top of her diaper all the way up to her neck.. there was no part of her back that did not have bruises

The court should have told him he's going to need dates etc. The height weight scale is known by even CNAs no excuse. At the same time he didn't even see the patient, there is no excuse if they had done something when they realized the fracture was unusual and then Laila and Millie would still be alive although I'm sure if Jennifer and Joseph ever went on to have their own children they wouldn't have lasted 2 mnths.

We can blame the doctor and the foster parents but it starts with this babies biological mother!! Everyone failed this poor baby.. The mom should have got help and got sober and took care of her kids, she's an addict not a monster like the foster parents!! I'm a mom myself with 2 teenage boys an I straightened up real quick as soon as I found out I was pregnant with my first son. People are so selfish. And this doctor sucks, I hate doctors!
