I felt about doing something with a royal blue, gold and white and therefore gave my 'failed' wing pour attempt another go which ended up super pretty with black, gold and white. So lets see how this one comes out and as usual I am super curious what you think about the result :))

Well when it comes to wood I would use brown, a dark brown, yellow, a bit of green and a bit of white. Layered light brown,yellow,white,green,yellow,light brown,darb brown,yellow,lot of darb brown. The paint you put in last comes out first....that would be my kind of approach :)

Gifs :) und ja ich auch. Die treffen immer die perfekte Stimmung und heitern alles noch weiter auf. Eine tolle Erfindung :))) Und vielen Dank!!! yes you showed them to me :) I tried something similar once and my lines which keep its shape with acrylics did not keep shape with resin and intermixed more. Reason for that was mostly the point when I needed to torch it for the air bubbles...it just moves out of control when it gets thinner by the heat....
@anitabruzelius3905
@anitabruzelius3905 5 жыл бұрын
yea it does but it might work ok if one waits a little longer before pouring. and has it enclosed so it can not flow all that much :-) Ill try it. i loved the way the tiles looked before they flowed off and away :-)

Mkl, a beautiful color combo & know the best way to combine them. I've a dumb question. The white area brings to mind, if you end up with a blank area that just needs something can you do a tree ring pour on it? Not saying anything bad about your beautiful pour.💕
@MKLGRMFineArt
@MKLGRMFineArt 5 жыл бұрын
Basically it can be done. To my result I would not have added anything else but if there is toooo much negative space it could be done, sure. Just make sure that the last colur you put in is the same color the negative space has. As the last added color pours out first it makes a better fit to the already done pour.

UUUhhhhh greens are a challange for me. I think I only have one pour with greens when I did the string pour technique. The small canvases that I did in this video do have this pallette and are pretty but I also often failed with greens :D

I don't use floetrol and more that often but I never measured anything. perhaps 2/3 floetrol and 1/3 paints but more important is the consistancy you have in the end :)

Do you use a torch or heat gun on your finished work to get out the air bubbles and help with cell formation? Love your paintings and your videos
@MKLGRMFineArt
@MKLGRMFineArt 5 жыл бұрын
Hey Jane, it depends. This one here had no silicone and when I do these design pours I never add silicone to the paints as I do not want to have cells. Therefore no torching needed. I do torch over the paints before I put them into the pouring cup to get rid of as many little tiny air bubbles as possible and sometimes I do torch over it once poured. Depends on how many bubbles I have left in there :)

Love this and never tired of seeing more ring pours!! Would love to see more with other colors. Thanks for explaining about the 3 cups tool you created but how did you put them together? Glue them? Maybe a hot glue gun, or...? Would like to see you do this without wet paint under the pour to see the difference. The blue paint you spread first didn't show in the end. It helped the paints you poured move across the canvas. I understand that but maybe the color doesn't matter much?
@MKLGRMFineArt
@MKLGRMFineArt 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Laurie!! No the underpainting layer does not really matter. I often times just use the drip off paints and put them into a large cup and mix them together....it always is a pretty ugly color but it works fine for a base to have the pour glide better. It just has an effect if you have silicone in the pour as this might result in that color coming through....which often times would be bad :D The cups are just glued together and the acrylics just hold everything even more in place when the first rest amount is dried in there.

Thanks so much for explaining! I don't use silicone, and always seem to get cells anyway. Sometimes that's ok but right now I'm trying to get clean looking tiger stripes and didn't want cells. I noticed small "bumps" in your close up. I get those too even when I strain my paint. Do you know what causes that? I didn't want any little lumps and I think it comes from the pouring medium mixing with the paints, but not sure. Maybe add to your list, tiger stripe colors? I know you must have a long list of videos to make though! Thanks again!
@MKLGRMFineArt
@MKLGRMFineArt 5 жыл бұрын
Those bumps came because it was a resued canvas and I had the bump on there from the first pour. Sometimes it just comes from the paint or the medium. Often times you just dont see the blobs when the paint layer is freshly poured and thick and they just come out when the water dries....I dont bother too much with it but I normally also try to avoid any bumps in there. Most of times it works but sometimes...well....part of the game I guess :)
@laurielatour2862
@laurielatour2862 5 жыл бұрын
You're right; I don't see any at first and then they appear as it dries! I usually work with resin and am used to a nice smooth surface but maybe not always possible with pouring mediums. I've tried a couple different ones but they all result in some little lumps even when I strain the mixture. Just part of it, I guess! Will you try a tiger stripe pour when you can? I think it would be so cool to do one long narrow canvas with tiger stripes and one with zebra stripes, and hang side by side. Want to try it soon! Thanks again for all your great videos and sharing what you learn! Much appreciated!!

Yaaas I have put it on my List and will make those. Tag me on instagram or fb on your results if you like, would love to see them. But it is on my to do list and when I do it I will shout you out as the idea-giver. Not sure when this will come, Perhaps I make a pouring day and make a couple of the requests all on one day and edit the videos step by step... If you want to have a smooth surface - youo can add a layer of resin over it to have it even. Just remove the silicone first as the resin will create gaps where it is. If it still happens add 2-3 drops of silicone on the canvas and smudge it with your hands around to mix it with the resin. It will get a tiny bit milky but it evens out and you will not have any gaps. The "Milkyness" is only very little and is not noticable in the end.

@@timmidillard3795ah, thanks :)) yes I superglued them together but it did not hold as good together. When I made the first pour I just let the rest amount of paint dry inside the cups and this finally tucked them together :)

It was screaming loud on there and on my regular computer I could barely hear the sound layer....but I fixed that before the upload and it was not that video here....so no idea :(
