The reason it is called rush it is because it was based on a meme about Markaplier just saying the letter E. Someone put his face on Lord Farquad from Shrek and called it a meme and that is how this came into existence. Rush E 3 actually has 2 times that image is used, and 1 where the original clip is played. Rush E 2 had 2 places where the meme was inserted. And Rush E 1 had 1 time the meme was inserted. Quite clever actually.

Its short for Russian. This comment is why the markiplier meme is there. Rush E cause it starts on e and played mostly on it. Rush is short for Russian because in their video where the 2 play it they wear Russian hat

Rush E 3 was definitely pretty damn good Also at 4:25, just like in Rush E 2, there was a reference to the first Rush song ever (Rush B) Edit: at 4:50, the 2.71828 is a math joke, referencing the mathematical constant “e”, or “Euler’s Number” which is irrational and is approximately 2.71828

Sheet Music Boss is so good at coming up with creative ways of using different melodies. Especially when Rush E first came out, I remember they did a lot of similar stuff even outside of the black midi category.

I wasn’t terribly surprised that Rush E is in A minor. E is the dominant note and shows up in a lot of chords during chord progressions. This is not the only instance: La Campanella heavily features D sharp but is in G sharp minor. Many other examples exist as well. The other “Rushes” (e.g. Rush A, Rush G, etc.) are often in the minor key that uses the feature note as the dominant, but a few do in fact use it as the tonic (I don’t remember off the top of my head which ones are which though).

Surely it's impossible to play with ten digits? I read that Beethoven was paranoid about friends copying his pieces so he make them with the notes difficult to reach with all fingers at times. But this piece has notes that are impossible to reach, unless they are played sequentially with the sustain pedal held down. It won't be appearing in Musitude notation any time soon that's for sure :)

It’s definitely impossible! It is lots of piano parts layered on top of each other to create an impossible piano piece and to create art out of the notes on the screen. 😊

also here's a *_fun_* fact, someone(i think their youtube channel name started with "bat") actually played the impossible version of rush in in real life(with some editing of course) and it had around 12 hands. which is the answer to the question a year ago when you said "i wonder how much pianists it would take to play rush e?"

i have absolutely heard people assume Rush E would be in E minor, you're not alone Sheet Music Boss have made a Rush song for all the white keys, as well as C# and Eb and a good few of those are in the key the name would indicate (like Rush C# in C# minor) but there's also the ones in a key a perfect 5th down, like Rush E and B which also means there's never been a Rush in C minor, even though that's like the "default" minor key

Mathew there's this rendition from a strangely underground guy on youtube. They even put the value of the mathematical constant e, which is known as Euler's Number And to put it in a mathematician's terms, it's the limit to ∞ of the function (1 + 1/x)^x, which means if you theoretically substitute ∞ in place of x, you will get e, which is valued at 2.718281828459045... (this is the value of Euler's number up to the point I have memorized it) And I think Rush E 3's note count is 2,718,281 notes, if not 27,182,818 notes Only thing to do is compress the video to 3 minutes and 11 seconds (2 minutes and 71 seconds) and we have ourselves another mathematical constant Black MIDI piece on our hands
