I have just subscribed to your channel. Thank you for testing this Rutus versa. I purchased one a while ago and havent used it much as I couldn’t see any English language videos showing different testing. That’s when I messaged Calabash to see if he could get hold of one to test with no bias. I can clearly see there is a problem now. I do think Rutus should address these issues and apologise to Calabash.

Thanks for the test Iffy, looking forward to hearing how Rutus reply. As someone who has spent their hard earned on this machine I hope we get some feedback from them promptly. From my understanding the 2.44 update took around a year to develop and one of it's main features being the way it handled iron. I don't see another update coming anytime soon. Would be good to see a manual ground balance and snug cable if you get the chance to do more.

I'm a Rutus versa owner after watching video's i reached out to Rutus asking for 1.7.1 program avalable on the website. i got kicked out the Rutus versa FB page. its not an offical Rutus page. Its owned by a few Rutus associates who can't take the truth. I've had a lovely conversation with the Rutus team today. I can't fault the service from there engineer . team. Rutus have taken my information and will be working hard to fix the issue. I've found a few nice coins with the 1.7.1 program including a 1689 Gold William 3rd Guinea. "Happy Day's" I'll continue using the 1.7.1 program Thanks for your testing its been intresting and very helpful. The Versa is great machine using the 1.7.1 program give the 1.7.1 program a test. Either there is something wrong with that particular machine or it is just not performing in accordance with it's price point. I am guessing the latter but lets see how the smaller coil does. Although really it should not need a smaller coil to pass those tests.

I will post a test this weekend this is amazing on the beach. I’m not as good as Iffy but will give it a shot. Great content I will also use a vanquish 540 which is also an amazing beach detector. I am in Fort Myers FL.

The Score doesn't even have an iron filter control, and yet it's unmasking very well. Something is just not right with that Versa.

@ Iffy thank you for this test👌👌,I'll give the Rutus the benefit of the doubt so far, it's ultimately about how it performs in the ground and not on a piece of concrete, the only way to do an honest review is to test it against the Legend or the Manticore and see if it takes the same objects so you take away all doubts. Personally, I think it's dangerous to judge a detector for masking on a piece of concrete, give him a far chance!!

Ok unlike Calabash's videos where I thought I had seen high numbers poking through with an iron tone.........and I thought it was a tone break issue. I can see your screen far more clearly so I now know it's not. Now it's either going to be a software issue or a coil issue in my books. Also remember guys............these are hard tests. It doesn't mean you can't find anything with this machine. I have plenty of old machines that perform terribly on these tests and I found some of my best stuff with them before I bought my Legend. Not everything in the ground is masked in iron. It's really a minority of targets that are masked.

So I just saw Rutus response to Calabash. That's pretty disappointing on their part If I understand correctly they say "Ground Filter 5 " .. I think this means reactivity which is what you just demonstrated is best for small coins. However just to make sure on page 2 of the manual it says in High Trash areas you should run it at 8. (I would be very surpised if there is that much difference between 5 and 8 that is suddenly passes these tests with flying colors?) Also I'm not sure I follow there logic with the "simple rule in such tests" comment about discriminating up to the nail being cut out to accurately perform the test. Even if that works (which I would like to see you try with and without Iron Volume on that is a separate issue. Unmasking is not Separation - Those are two different things. We don't soley rely on detectors to unmasks targets for us any more. The processors, multi-freq, and coil-tech has surpassed the need to do this IMO. As demonstrated by a

Rutus oh Rutus what happened??? 😂 Only thing I like about this detector is the name ! The name cannot be beat !! 😅 .. Maybee it just lacks performance in Multi frequency??? Did you try in single frequency yet ? Either way a high performing Multi frequency machine is the main selling point for me.....

I know thart Rutus is not selling in the US but here in Europe they are . I'm metal detecting in Belgium and i know a lot of people in the hobby but non of them are using Rutus products. From what i'm hearing they had a good single frequency machine but this mult frequency machine is a lemon. It's going fast in the metal detector line up. Every 3-4 years manufactures bringing out new models who are better performing and are getting cheaper. One other lemon from Rutus can mean the end of this company if they don't step up. That would be a shame. More companies means more competition and better machines with better prices..

I'm really hoping this machine comes through. I really like the layout and the Rutus version of the X/Y screen. Regardless how how it performes even if it were on par with the D2 it's still pricey considering we have no U.S. Dealers. I hope it's just a software issue. Did you by chance try to run the test on a stable single freq? Just to rule out the Multi Selection. Also do you ever wonder how they don't test basic stuff like this before they release a machine? Rutus has such a good rep with the Alter 71 its hard to imagine they didnt.

My above ground testing is not as extensive as yours and yes, the Legend does better in them. IN the ground the Versa is excellent. Like my Tarsacci, it looks at targets/ground in a somewhat different way than my other machines and finds additional good targets that were missed. I hope you get a chance to use the Versa on a beat iron trashed relic site. If it has higher mineralization even better to see how it stacks up. Thanks for the video.

Ok if it couldn’t pass that iron elevated test it is also not possible to do it on ground. That is very simple for all metal detectors. Signal amplification by ground is possible but not target separation. Period.

Watched halfway, will finish the rest after work - but few conclusions from Versa user: -for proper iron infested sites I wouldn’t consider multi- better choice will be frequency above 30, closer to 40 -dropping disc to -10 as per recommendation caused targets were shown (in minus range, but still). In this case, disc -5/-6 and one tone will sort the thing. Yes - you will dig more iron, but with chance of having good targets in that range, those few nails more wouldn’t make a difference. In reality, for trashy sites there is more about approach and settings than ID number. Had good results on iron infested areas even with Field Multi where tiny silver cut quarters popped up - and previous machines shown only iron on that end. The biggest advantage of Versa seems to becoming its curse - as with durability to set up for every scenario, there is still huge percentage of users choosing wrong settings (willingly or not) or playing blindly with settings - or best example, not even reading manual. Could you do a small favour for me and post coin data for this test? I’m not familiar with US coins

My retired F75 does a better job detecting. D1 is better that this $700 detector. I don't believe this RUTUS company will be around long with so many other performing options.

I am pretty sure this would be a machine that gets people out of the detecting hobby!! 😢
