Glad you enjoyed it Scott, we still need to focus on a day or two out on the river this summer. Indian Brook has been calling to me for some time now, it would be a great meeting point.

Just listening to you foretell the future of our descendants 😢makes me feel nauseous. What will history books say about a group of people who helped destroy our land. Our people need to stop this destruction before there’s no turning back. If you look at what’s in place now you can see they’ve been planning this for a while right underneath our noses while we were all struggling with Covid. I’m terrified because people are either naive or greedy or desperate. I’m grateful for video as that makes it real. Keep educating Charlie. We need your knowledge and skills.

Hey Charlie. It's going on everywhere and seems that that's the price we pay for modernization! Looking back on everything that has happened here in NL last 50 plus years drastic changes to the landscape alone and no more back country to escape in! Born 100 yrs too late! atb.

oh my, you've got that right Mac. Little brooks and streams once teaming with trout and salmon are no longer. As a boy we never had to travel far to get a feed of fish, we could catch a winter's supply of cod right from the beach with spinning rod while waiting for the capelin to land. You're older than me, judging from the amount of change I've seen in my lifetime, I'm guessing you've seen more. What will our grandchildren, and their grandchildren see? What will be left?

There is a city in south America that planted alot of trees around the city and they found it dropped the temperature by a few degrees. Less trees and it will get warmer and there is nothing to keep the water from erosion.

We need more NEWFOUNDLANDERS like Charlie to stand up and protect the land and water ways. Everyone here should fight for this scenic beauty, soon to be trash can. I met a man in Pasadena who works with the helicopter service on the windmill project, he said the project was going to happen, that the government had already received their money. A few hundred million? Where are the indigenous leaders of NEWFOUNDLAND, stand up and fight or are they bought and paid for aswell? Like the town cousel of Stephenville. We moved from Ontario to be closer to family and enjoy the NEWFOUNDLAND way of life, bought a home on Indian Head in the xing, beautiful spot with lots of land. Just to find out that NO ONE really cares for this unique wilderness. In Ontario the wind farms have driven people crazy with the flashing lights, clear cutting, contamination of the land to Health issues. This project will only benefit GERMANY, not the residents of this beautiful province. Stand up Newfoundland you've been taken advantage of too many times!

Some really good points there Charlie. Question I have is what about the rest of Western NL? CBPP has been cutting in Pynn's Brook area, Lady Slipper road, Gull Pond Road, Logger School, Camp 185 road, North Branch Road, Crabbe's River, and etc.. Shouldn't your comments cover all these areas that have been used for hunting, fishing and gathering for centuries? Environment assessments for all our land should be completed by an independent agencies. Great video as always.

Thanks Charlie for the great explanation !! I never truly understood what the objections were to the project , because I did not understand what was about to happen. Clear cutting should never be an option, nowhere. We do need to make way for productivity but not at all cost, definitely not at all cost. Sean really summed up any fishing trip , it was a great trip, no fish , but still a great trip, will our future generations be able to say the same or will they even know or experience it at all.

Charlie, there used to be a tradition in our hometown long ago. Whenever a new baby was born in a family, they would plant a tree. It symbolized the hope that the child would grow as strong and resilient as the tree. Trees represent life, hope, and vitality. Many years later, the children of these children would see these trees and know they were planted by their ancestors, accompanying them like family. We're not locals and don't know all the details, but we understand your concerns and hope for a suitable solution.

Charlie your right about the land , it to bad the western coast area (09) for moose and all animals clear cut mid 70 to last 1980 . Boy it GONE , take round valley home of the big timber and moose were like rabbits. Clear cut off , logs road open it up for white man to kill everything that move off . Still go on in Codroy Valley clear cut hardwood, around ponds and streams, brook so dirty can’t drink the water 💦 for mud come down stream. where pulp mill in stephenville GONE , so is GAME and TIMBER GONE . there make millions we made $15.00a cords . End of the 1980 $22.50 per/ cord . Sorry 😢 we didn’t make a penny went I look 👀 back in time . Just help the mill make millions $$$$$$$ and leave the ROCK 🪨 plus never 👎 put one tree 🌲 back . We all know Mother Nature do come back in 300 plus yrs . 😮
