My saluspa inflatable spa was deflated a little. I went to fill it with air and realized the walls were full of water. I searched online and someone posted on a forum somewhere how to fix it. I thought a video would help some people like me.
Pretty simple fix. Only supply you'll need is some kind of epoxy, I used JB Weld original. Costs about $7 usd.

Just for your information what is happening here is there is a small tube about 12 - 15 inches inside the air chamber, connecting those two ports. And in most cases, either one or both of those ends of this hose has disconnected inside. I learned this when draining the water from the walls in my hot tub, this hose flushed out. There’s really no way to reliably reattach this hose inside, so plugging them seems to be the best workaround…. Thanks for the video

I think you are right. Unfortunately there is no way to fix it that I can find either. It also took WAY to long to find this solution since the Saluspa manual doesn't even acknowledge it's existence. Hopefully plugging it will work or it's a wasted $400 for me after only 1 year. I think that tube came out when I put it in storage for the winter.

Sadly the jB weld didn't work for us. It wasn't the screw hole leaking. Turned out its behind that vent plate where it goes into the liner. No idea what to try now besides trashing it. It's not even 2 years old

@@lisakeasler8301 is everything else working ok? I plugged the holes but have a theory, both holes are connected to each other for some reason. My Saluspa - Palm Springs model has exactly this same problem. The air leak is evident in the two locations shown in this video and appeared when setting up the hot tub after being stored for the winter season. I used duct tape temporarily to cover the two ports to confirm the liner will hold air if these ports are sealed. I suspect the process of putting the hot tub into storage damaged what I believe is an internal pipe connecting these ports. Now, I will try permanently sealing these ports with JB or some other compound. Thanks for posting this most helpful video!

The vents are for releasing over pressure when filling or on hot days. The valves are behind the walls. If you dont replace the screw, it will still leak into the walls. I used a rubber toilet tank gasket on each one with a large washer and kept the screws in them. There is no way to replace the valves so blocking them off is what I did. Let some air out if the tub gets over inflated in the sun. These valves have nothing to do with the air jets.

I noticed spa deflating two days ago, but didn’t have time to look at it so today I go out there and notice it’s dripping from the large air output, so I plugged up the insides, but noticed there was still water coming out of the smaller bottom intake! So I re-blew up the spa and then heard all this gurgling sound coming from the inside top valve which you are talking about. I screwed it off and saw all this water coming out of it!! so I figured after watching your video I must have water inside the walls. I’m about to throw this thing out after loving it for over a year so I drained it right now and I’m gonna try to get the water out of the walls don’t even know if that’s possible and don’t know why it’s happening now after I’ve had no issues with it. Except before summer, I took it down to clean it and then had my patio pavers sealed, and it was out in the sun upside down and wondering if that stretched out the liner but it’s been fine for about two months till two days ago😩

What is the function of the vent-looking part on top? I'm about to undertake this fix, but I don't want to plug up something that might be important... From the location, my guess is that it's an overflow drain. And... thanks for posting this!
@theRickLC
@theRickLC Ай бұрын
Same problem ... it appears to be similar to a bath over flow drain. Except the overflow is routed thru a tube back into the bottom of spa. I am assuming this tube has disconnected and water is now filing the walls/air pocket and the air is escaping thru the ports where the tube was connected. Also, since this tube is inside the walls/air pocket there is no access to repair, reconnect or replace. An expoxy plug at both ends appears to be the solution.

@91945punx

Mine leaks a bit of air up top as well, but not much and doesn't let water in the walls. On mine the problem is that the jb weld doesn't 'stick to' the sides of the tub. I'm not sure if roughing up the surface would make it stick. Usually for things to get a good 'grip' on slick materials the shiny needs to be taken off and the surface needs to be a little rough. I'm not too worried about the air mine is leaking, so I haven't tried it, but have thought about trying it sometime. I'm assuming it's air that's leaking out of your walls that you're concerned with.. .if that's the case I don't think patching will help really as the patch sticky surface would only be partially the wall and not enough would be in contact to stop from more leaking. But it's worth a shot I guess. I could be wrong.

Yeah, I just used a normal screwdriver. It was a bit funny to get to come out, but I just kept trying and it evetually did.

It's important to use a sharp screwdriver and be careful! If you're screwdriver is worn it'll strip the screw!

I just had to do the exact same thing to my hot tub. Unfortunately the instructions don't say anything about horse play in the hot tub I think that's what damaged ours🫣 we've had ours up 24/7 for almost 3 years now. If I can make it through one more Montana winner I feel that I would have gotten my money's worth. Unfortunately I watched your video a day late but we both came to the same conclusion. Thank you for posting the video to help others.
