Review of the SAMSON G-TRACK PRO. It's a USB microphone with an audio interface. You can record your voice and instrument at the same time. It's in direct competition with the popular BLUE YETI that doesn't have a instrument input. The G-Track Pro can record on one or two track. Great video. Thank you. I've been on the fence between the Blue Yeti and Samson G-Track Pro, but because I'm a musician, I really like the 2-track feature and decided to buy the Samson.

Hi Gerard, This is a question I have been trying to figure out also. I read i need a usb power hub to power the device then usb to lightning cable, once doing that and getting it plugged into ipad, will garageband still record using the 2 track option on the mic? Have you had experience with this? Thank You!

Bass Guitarist hi mate, look sorry I didn’t end up getting it because I already had a rode nt 1 and from what I’ve heard, a USB mic is no comparison to this . So just stuck with what I have and I don’t need a usb hub because it works fine using the lighting to USB 3 . I also use a Steinberg ur22 c interface that gets really good results in conjunction with this . Sorry I can’t be of more help .🙂

I love this mic its costly but it feels super durable. Not only is it a good sound quality but the stand and mic does also dual purpose as a rather scary blunt weapon.... Its bloody heavy XD I think I'd need a sledge hammer my table with almost full strength to make it fall over. DEFINITELY one of the better high end usb mics. imo.

It’s good indeed. One think I have learned since I have made this video is the lack of attachment for a mic arm in the box (at least for me). Accessories are difficult to find for it depending of countries also. But Samson do give the attachment under warranty when asking.

i just ordered this to do some home recordings. i think it's a better option than buying an audio interface as well as a mic. better value for the money for someone who has little equipment

It’s a cheap and simple to do so. An interface however is more versatile (can change the mic) and can do more things.

When you say you can connect an iphone as a line level input, do you mean that using a 1/4'' to 1/8'' male-male cable the iphone can be used a a line level input to the microphone and add what's played on the phone as a second track?

It’s been a while a did that review but yeah, that’s what I meant. You can’t plug a microphone however, it’s needs to be a line level signal (already amplified).

I was going to buy the blue yeti but the imput for my guitar swayed my opinion, I will now most likely buy the Samson g track pro unless I see one better for the price

It’s a great option for a simple setup. You could also buy a USB interface for your guitar and a XLR mic.
