Absolutely quality. This lad clearly knows his stuff. I haven’t been serious about sea fishing since the 80’s these videos have brought me right up to speed. Very much appreciated.

hi Paul great vid as usual , on the subject of crimp or not to crimp , I have never been a fan of crimps due to line damage , I use a little trick I learned during my 20odd yrs fishing the Norfolk and Suffolk coast , it is to use a length of telephone wire wound tightly round a safety pin (pointy end ,lol)and then cut into about 3/4 or 1 inch lengths , then put it on the line as a stop by tightening it onto the line by twisting it , in over 20 yrs its never failed me and I was a heavy caster , it is also adjustable by reverse twisting it and moving to a new position and then twist again to tighten , (I had this published in SEA ANGLER several yrs back now . unfortunately during a house move in which period I was not insured I was burgled and had my set of zziplex match specials and Abu reels , plus all my other fishing gear (fly, coarse, sea boat and beach ) as per in this country now the police managed nothing but since I am now retired I stand no chance of replacing my beloved ZZS and have had to get by on cheap gear that I could afford . anyway keep up the vids they are very helpful to youngsters and beginners I am sure and we older anglers enjoy them as well !all the best Keith .

Hello Sandman love the videos. Can I recommend to the people that don't like crimps another method I have used for 25 years. Telephone wire. Coil about a 1 and a half inch piece either side of the beads, works great and allows adjustability when setting up a rig to bait clips then can be pinched in place with pliers.

Wow...its compliments like that compel me to go on with the next video....It just so happens that the next video which ill be shooting within the next week or so is about magging the Penn Fathom 15ld s speed...A very nice very well built real originally designed for the boat scene but can be used for the shore if magged. Ive also recently purchased one of Zziplex's latest rod the Evolution CT so i could think of a better time to mag this real and show it in action on Zziplex latest edition to the family....Many many thanks for your kind words of support you have know idea what it means...take care David and tight lines....p.s....if you want to see some pictures of the 2 prior to the new video please feel free to add me on facebook and join Tackle Time on there if you alreadu havnt and ill have a chat n that on there bud......

Hi Paul. Really enjoying watching your videos, especially the beginners guides, would it be possible to include in your productions where you would use the rig and why? It might be useful for a novice fisherman as in why, where & when and the species caught as I say just a thought

If you get electrical cable wi4h fine strands, you can save some for her in doors to thread needles with. Just make a tiny loop in it and push it through the needle eye. Put the thread through the loop and pull it back. I really like sliding stop knots, I use them as a bait stop above the hook and also at the top of my wishbone rig to set the distance.

i use the sliding knot all the time now like david

***** try putting a sliding stop knot around your pennel hook. No need to wind it around the snood. Bonuses are you can move it out of the way if you want to use a single hook or it will work at a bait stop with the benefits of being a hook if yiu can't afford a big bait or what you have is a bit scrawny. Try it out but use a thicker line for the stop knot than you did for the snood. Try it out it's free.

David Harvey i like the idea of putting the knot around the top hook, ill pass that over to the paul and we will try it in our knot video next year, only one more video for 2014 and its on the ZZIPLEX ZETEQUE TXL GT BUTT with a M427 SU TIP on it beast of a rod

***** I have got used to putting a tag or strip of squid on the hook after the lug worm to keep it in place. I ran out of squid and used tiny 6mm x 20mm tags cut from an old bicycle tyre inner tube works really well, can be re used again and again and costs nothing.

better off using high power gum for stop knots, more easily adjustable and less likely to slip or cut through the rig body.

What size crimps are you using? There are all types of crimps for fishing. To ensure I don't buy the heavy duty crimps used for cable wire for such fish as Marlin etc, please specify the name or material of crimps you're using. Want to order them on ebay and have no idea of size or specific names. Great video. Cheers.

Hi from New Zealand mate, just watched this twice. Shame You Tube has cut it short would have liked to see the end of it. Do you know a supplier in the UK that would send things like the Impact Shields Pulley swivels etc overseas. We don't seem to have access to them in the tackle shops here. I was asking in my local one today and got a glazed look from the guy in the shop. I knew straight away he didn't have a clue what i was talking about.

Hi there mate...... Many compliments on your very informative and very helpful videos. Your top of your game I have to say. ...... Anyway, here's my question..... Can you recommend a reliable bait reel? I really want to buy the Penn fathom 15 as I've heard so many fab things about it. I have watched your vid on the reel but cant get my head around drilling the side plate and putting in the mag. It scares the shit out of me to be honest lol...... Looking forward to your reply or even a demonstration vid on up to date reels...... Ok ....... That's it. Bye for now mate. Keep up the fab work. regards Dave from Dublin, Ireland.

Hi david.... first of all sorry for the late reply rather busy at the mo lolol...Making the decision on what multiplier to buy for the first time can be quite daunting due to the fact that there's so many on the market. The one thing that I always try and keep in mind is this....YOU ONLY GET FOR WHAT YOU PAY FOR...If you're going to go and pay let's say £19.99 for a real then your probably going to get a real that's worth £19.99 if you know what I mean. So buy cheap buy twice but if you put a few quid towards it then the chances are you'll only buy once in my opinion....The Penn fathom range for me is a cracking reel, not too expensive nor to cheap. Has a good name behind it plus the build quality is there so why not have ago. I've owned both the 15 and the 12 with no complaints at all, good reels...Magging them certainly isn't a must both the 15 and the 12 both come with their own built-in centrifugal braking system as standard. Now david I've had both reels both ways meaning I've had them both as standard and both magged and to be honest for me magging them made very little difference for me. If you're looking to get maybe a little more distance or your looking to control your spool a little more then mag the real but if it was me and I was going to buy a fathom then leave as is mate. For what your going to gain in my opinion its really not worth it. Many thanks for your support mate take care tight lines....
