I realized that Shane tried to sacrifice himself and when Otis refused to leave him behind Shane had a look like he realized what had to be done.

For me, this was where Shane crossed the line and it completed his crossover from ok but unstable, to just unstable and out for himself. Great reaction guys 😊

I love Daryl in this episode Trying so hard to look unbothered telling Andrea about his time in the woods as a kid and you can tell he’s low key getting more worried as time goes on.

In the time that Shane spent trying to get Otis on the ground & let go of his hair, they both could have kept moving and used each other to even out the limping to make it easier as well. What Shane did wasn’t necessary and he sacrificed Otis to save himself. That’s why he apologized. Shane knew it was wrong to do. Then lied straight to everyone’s face about it. My brother and I say all the time how dirty Otis was done by him lol 😅

I think the main thing new people don’t realize when starting TWD is how brutal the show actually is Compared to other Zombie movies and other series it’s so unique and has so much more depth to it.

Killing Otis changed Shane... Initially Shane told Otis to take the bags and go back but Otis said no, that he wouldn't leave him behind. So Shane decided that if Otis won't leave him behind then he will leave Otis behind because one way or another those supplies needed to get back to Carl. If Shane was as smart as Rick I think they could have found a different way to get out of that mess. The choices you make shape who you become... what will this do to Shane? Anything?

There’s is long debate in TWD fandom about whether Shane had to sacrifice Otis to make it….personally I think they both could have made it! They were moving at the same pace if not faster than the walkers, not to mention the tussle over the bag and the time that took! Shane did not have to kill Otis IMO 🤷🏽‍♀️

Hello 👋 Another awesome video, 👍👍 In my personal opinion had Shane been as smart as he thinks he is, he would have warned Otis before popping the trunk, and most definitely saved some flares, also one would think he would have opened the FEMA trailer door a whole lot quieter upon leaving and should have thrown those couple of flares he should have saved, so they could have went back the way they had come, but since he stupidly chose not to, once they got behind the school’s security fence they should have started putting a knife in heads, but he did not, yes he told Otis to go on ahead, but there was no way Otis was going to do that so Shane should not have done what he did, especially since the Walkers were far enough behind them, considering he had time to stop, shoot and then wrestle around with Otis, there was absolutely no reason for him to have shot him except for his own twisted joy of it, 👍 RIP Otis, 😪

I love how Shane represents that do bad to achieve good mentality It’s a really good representation of certain choices would seem super crazy to us in everyday life or wouldn’t even cross our minds but in the Zombie Apocalypse it’s crazy the choices some might make to stay alive or even for the greater good Not saying I agree with his decision but looking at the bigger picture I get it Where I don’t agree is that one would have to make a distinction of one persons life being more valuable than another’s and that that’s just an insane thing to think about.

I still contest that Shane and Otis had time to get away and Shane did not have to shoot him.

My theory on why Shane didn’t just shoot Otis in the head instead of his leg was due to him not wanting to “directly” kill him. If he didn’t directly ill Otis in cold blood, then he wouldn’t have to feel guilty for just trying to save Carl in a sick way. IMO they both had the chance to get out of their together without wasting all of that time💀

Otis death was his own fault. First for being reckless while hunting and not paying enough attention and shooting Carl, accident or not. and 2. When he wouldn't leave Shane behind. I don't think Shane shooting Otis was evil at all. Especially when he tried to make the sacrifice first. If it was my child or someone I love like my child like Shane does Carl. I'd have killed Otis too. And shooting him in the head wouldn't have worked as hell, the screaming pulled all the walker's attention while some may have walked past him.

Dumb moves are hard to comprehend in a show like this... until you stop to think how many dumb moves you make yourself in everyday life. I grant you that a zombie apocalypse is hardly an everyday occurrence to us - but to them, it sort of is. Day in day out you think "Oh, but zombies (walkers)" so, to my mind, it's likely that occasionally you're gonna forget and do something stoopid! Just sayin'! Jesus, Hunter... you assured me you dropped off on the spoilers but here you are telling Anthony it's a flash forward with Shane shaving his head an' all! He can find this out for himself - he don't be needin' no tellin' from y'all what be hapnin', non. I'm jus' sayin'! Sorry - I just came over all southern States and I'm British so I know nothing. Talk to me about tea! Carol has no tracking skills and just saw half her party, including her husband, wiped out by walkers. She's gonna feel all of that and now her little girl is gone... lost... somewhere out there... and all these alpha males can't find her. How's Carol going to make a difference to that, Hunter? Just asking as I feel her character position is credible and understandable. The scene with Dale wandering outside the RV: I see it as he's left with the distraught mum and a guy with a blood infection and his most capable survivor has gone out on a walkabout. I'd be anxious awaiting his return... especially in a zombie apocalypse! I don't agree that Otis was at fault for shooting Carl. If ever there was a clear-cut definition for an accident, this was it! Otis was a decent man who went out hunting deer for his community, risked his life to approach unknowns to give directions to the farm, volunteered to get the necessary equipment to give Carl a chance, held true to support Shane in their endeavour, and was brutally sacrificed by Shane for something that had other possible resolutions. Otis was heroic in his actions and Shane's actions are flawed on so many levels... IMHO! Great reaction - love it!
