Speaking of attaching things to the Kahakka bags how well does the 15L attach to other bags in the same manner that the Hatka does. Could the Kahakka 15L beat out the Hatka as a supplemental pouch/pack attaching to larger packs.

Hi Tim, could you try to attach the Kukkaro on the Kahakka 15's lower front row of PALS? I was wondering if this could be done with MOLLE sticks, creating an additional admin pocket with quick release option. Thank you for your consideration!

Tim_Keys, Subscribed to your channel a couple of days ago. At 2:00 minutes into this video you say you can ad a hip belt to this pack. Could you demonstrate that? I mean, does Savotta make one for this pack as an option? If not who does? Would it have to be sewn in? So far, that’s the only reason I wouldn’t be interested in this pack because it doesn’t have a hip belt. I’d like one as wide as the 25 L. Comes with if that’s possible. Thanks in advance for your reply. Gary.

Hi Tim. The German sleeping mat. Wasn't mainly designed prior as a sleeping mat. It' s more like a generell multi purpose mat. Of course you can use them for sleeping, combined with a wood crafted "Jägerbett" or Hunters bed. This mat got sorted out by the German Bundeswehr. But it still is a very versatile tool for use as Backpack mat, knee- and sitting Pad, Shooting mat and of course sleeping mat. Thanks for your vids by the way. Hope to see ablotore customization vids. Even on the older Jäkaari and "older" Savotta products.

Thanks man, it's always a pleasure to see you around these parts. And as for the sleeping pad, I am not too torn up about it. Although you and I are different breeds of rough sleepers. I'm never alone out there, haha my 7 year old would never forgive me. So I am at a bare minimum 25+ liter pack for overnights. When he gets bigger though and can carry a little bit more than water and basic sustainment, that minimum bag size may change

Hey Tim, thank you for your videos, i really like your modifications and the way you do your videos. Keep going! The only problem I see on the 15L is, you can't overpack it. Because on the longer weebing on the 25L, you can let the lid a little bit open. Great from Europa!

I'm hoping you also do a G40 sleeping bag liner review and how you use it in combination with other bags. No other videos seem available on that liner. Note that there is an american small company, vertex outdoors, that sells bags made by what appears to be the same manufacturer of the carinthian bags. I bought several because they are able to get them made in a XL long (I'm 6'5"). Vertex seems to have european connections to get these bags. Their midsize bag is exactly the same bag as the carinthia D4, inside loops, insulation, and compression bag. I have several carinthia bags and the vertex bags appear to be the same.

First... thank you for the video! :) Always looking forward to them... :) Do you always have to roll the lid three times in order to close it or can you adjust the height somehow (overpack)? The 202 is a nice daypack as well with its 17l plus little pouch outside. Sure.. you cannot attach something but still... and if you consider the price. 202 plus Askare is cheaper than the 15l I think... ;) Maybe something for your 202 video... ;)
@Savotta
@Savotta 16 күн бұрын
The Kahakka 15L is not designed for overpacking, you need to fold the top a couple of times for a proper seal and the buckle straps are not adjustable. The 25L on the other hand can be overpacked a bit due to it's more "lid-like" closure system.

Yes they would, but not for intensely heavy loads like you would have in the 80L Keikka. Plastic hardware at the padded strap base, it's removable (split-bar, modifiable) but you would have to get crafty with metal hardware before I would use it on a heavy 80L

@@Tim_Keys Well actually! We use those same or similar plastic ladderlock buckles on some pretty big backpacks too, including the Jääkäri M, L and XL. They are strong enough for some pretty hard use. Side-release buckles on the other hand wouldn't be too cool on heavier packs, but ladderlocks are by design very strong.

Tim_Keys, 2:00 minutes into video you say you can ad a hip belt to this pack. Does Savotta have a hip belt for this pack? Does someone else? Does it slide right in to the bottom opening? Or, does it have to be sewn in? Do you intend to show the hip belt application in a future video? I’d have to see the application of the hip belt before I’d buy this one. Also, would the hip belt be 2” wide? Thanks in advance for your reply! Gary.

@Tim_Keys 8 күн бұрын
Savotta does not offer the hip belt but you can very easily make one out of a pack strap or any other webbing. I intend on making one out of a 50mm shoulder strap that reduces to 25mm

Nothing I show you guys will ever involve sewing. What I am planning is using an existing shoulder strap from Varusteleka, cut in half. It is 50mm, reduced to 25mm by metal rings for connectivity. A wonderful piece to have on hand no matter what.

@Tim_Keys
@Tim_Keys 3 күн бұрын
They are 2 entirely different beasts, but look very similar. The very high amount of modularity, and included pieces of the Kahakka 15L make it a great backpack right from the start. The Jääkäri S is great from the start too, but to match the comfort and modularity you have a little bit of work to do. But the Jääkäri S will expand to hold your life and more, while the Kahakka 15L will only expand at the side bellows pockets Both will survive the apocalypse, and both have great merits, but they are very hard to compare
@Messerjocke90
@Messerjocke90 2 күн бұрын
I got the S for quite some time now as a Bushcraft pack and I gotta say that it fits everything I need and can fit bigger nor bulky items than this one here, but the main reason I want the kahakka are the side pockets. The jäkäri is basically a big old stuffsack with less comfortable shoulder straps. I still love it though. When I go shopping groceries on a bicycle I always have this to pack it all. Also keep in mind that you can't overpack the kahakka. Greetings from Germany ✌️
