A lot of people also missed that when Catra reports the loss of the recordings to Hordak, she lies covering up for Scorpia to protect her. Catra is a shitty friend, but she did care about Scorpia at least somewhat.

@@Arella17 She also protected Scorpia by pushing her away when Catra was imprisoned at the horde. Catra didn't want to risk Scorpia's safety when she offered to break her out. In season 1, Catra also protects Adora by trying to keep her identity as She-Ra a secret as long as possible and then helps her escape the Fright Zone later one. Catra was scared of getting close to people as she had been hurt so much. Her heart was broken but not completely gone.

@@GemR38 She also helped Adora escape the Fright zone because she knew that if Adora was brain washed and brought back, that she would be demoted and Adora would be made Force Captain. She didn't want all her hard work to go up in a puff of smoke like that.

@@Arella17 Agreed. Even if Catra acts like a total bitch, she isn't a total scumbag. And the only times when she really goes overboard, it's because of her emotional instability. If she didn't learn that Shadow Weaver is "hanging out" with Adora after being tricked and abandoned again, she wouldn't have opened the portal. It's no excuse for her actions but it's important to note that Catra only does really fucked up stuff when her traumas are triggered

Exactly! Most of the other characters are either annoyed at Entrapta or being nice to her just because she's useful. Other than Hordak, Scorpia is the only one who seems to like Entrapta for who she is. She stood up to Mermista and the others, saying that Entrapta is just different, but she has a good heart. And she tries to share in with Entrapta's love for tech, even though she understands next to nothing.

I think it's shown that while she tries to understand Catra's more aware of Scorpia's limited intellect on such things when Entrapta sees Scorpia doing something with a notepad and says; "Scorpia understands" before Catra simply says; "Scorpia is drawing stick figures holding hands" right before Scorpia shows the drawing of exactly that and looks confused when looking away from a screen after Catra mentions her name

I would assume that is the "official" version, the apparently tell on orientation day. Truth might be more: Grandpa Scorpia: "Okay you new neighbors are pretty scary. Maybe if we give you our black garnett, we can be friends." Hordak: "Ah, what kind offer for our efforts. To repay your kindness i will allow your Granddoughter to be raise in the Horde. Your lineage will be remembered when we conquer this world." Granpa: "Haha... that's sounds great... ehm could you maybe untie me now?" Hordak: "One moment... Oh, I'm sorry but Horde Primes rule book says nothing about releasing prisioner's so I'm afraid i can't do that."

Maybe the moms of Scorpia were fighting the hoard but the grandad decided there’s too much risk to continue ( good vers) so decided to try to escape instead with his daughter and grand daughter but failed so instead of his grand child being killed he “traded” her and the black garnet for her safety (cause... I mean they don’t show themselves in the series so I assume their dead already) and he knows she can gain the power of the black garnet and avenge them rather than all of them killed.....(giving him the benefit of the doubt) Another one could be (sadder version) he gave up the rebellion but his daughter still wanted to fight but hoardak was beating them so he decided to surrender to the hoard and act as a spy against his children so technically he did surrender to the hoard AS WELL AS scorpion peeps fighting the hoard but lost because of the grandad and the hoard still “took forcefully” the black garnet and Scorpia.... idk just a thought

It seems likely to me that Scorpia's family probably got the Atahualpa treatment. Suddenly invaded by an outside force with advanced technology, the Scorpion King (or maybe someone he loved) was taken hostage, and the other relatives or the kingdom surrendered the Black Garnet in exchange for his/their release, but the Horde killed them anyway. They would have put up a hell of a fight (notice how trashed everything in the Fright Zone still is), but apparently never had the chance to get allies. So, the Horde kept Scorpia around because she was young enough for them to raise and indoctrinate, and turn into a super-soldier. But Hordak was still concerned enough about her potential power that he gave the Black Garnet to Shadow Weaver instead.

I'm not sure it was an other version. Hordak was part of an utopia (very wrong one, ok) and try to reproduce it with lesser means. He made some kind of communist society. We se him after long years of bitter conflict. But what lead him here, we don't know. He may have arrive angry by Prime's abandon, or like "Wrong Hordax", just confuse. Scorpia said in princess prom, no one like her family before the horde. Again, nothing say it, maybe they were huge bastards, but if you think cats don't make dogs, here is an other theory: aside Glimmer's parents, we don't know the previous rulers. They were kings, perhaps tyrants or despots, they weld power unreacheable for mere mortals. They have castles and retainers. It's quite not a perfect egalitarian society. From what we see of Scorpia's castle remains, it seems more humble in some sides than other. The art is nice inside by the way, but look at the throne. It seems more approachable than the other: Glimmer's one with floating stairs, the moat around Mermista's one, Frosta's one have a volley of icy stair (that comes in competition with Hordax's one) where the tradition seems to be you're trown off when you disagree with the ruler. I won't speak of Entrapta castle were you just can't find her lab (that seems to be the closest thing of a throne room for her) even if you live there. From this perspective, I think Scorpia's great dad is the ruler that is the closest to his people at the exception of Perfuma's tribe. Maybe he gave his kingdom to Hordax in hope of a more egalitarian world from this godlike creature fall from the sky with unseen technology and unusual ideology. He may have die in tragic circumstances in the previous war, grieving a previously more chearful Hordak (like wrong Hordak).

I haven't watched She Ra, but from what I've seen there's a lot, _lot_ of things it has in common with A:tLA. In fact, in certain lights, Catra's eyes look like blue and gold, almost like she's a merging of Zuko and Azula's characters.

@@quwykxz That's actually not far off the mark. It's confirmed that Kyle and Rogelio are dating now, but Noelle says that (in her headcanon) Lonnie is part of the relationship, too. I think she's reluctant to say "yes this is definitely canon" because the series is over and because other people worked on it as well, so she doesn't want to act like the sole executive authority on what's canon in the show. But she's definitely made them a relationship in some of her post-series fanart, and if they continue she-ra in a comic or movie then it's possible we'll see the three of them forming a polycule together! (Also, they adopted Imp.)
