Always find Trinidad Calypso , Soca and it's music history gets sadly over looked compared to Jamaica with Ska and Reggae yet Trinidad has the longest history.

Lord Melody (1926-1988) is without a reasonable doubt took Harry Belafonte to mega stardom in America with his compositions. My last meeting with this legend at this level of existence was at Lord Lester's residence on Observatory Street in Port of Spain. There was always something funny and mixed with intelligence that used to emanate from his being. It was around 1985 and he was with a Young Calf evidently going to slaughter! R.I.P. (Return If Possible) Lord Melody.
@annaphillip5633 жыл бұрын
Lord Melody didn't take Belafonte to stardom, his association exposed Belafonte to calypso, however! Capitalist, and USA dominance to rob all other nations of their substance, propelled Bellafonte to a place of notoriety. How many hits and king of carnival crowns he has? NONE.

Haile Selassie(which means power of the trinity).Was born to christian parents.He was subsequently Baptized Ta Fari.later on in life he was made prince and given the title Ras .Thus he became Prince Ta Fari.Or in the Ethiopian language Ras Ta Fari.Thus his followers were called Rastas.Later on in life he was made king.The Ethiopian name for king is Negus.Thus becoming Negus Ta Fari.It is to be noted that Islam was one of the religions of Ethiopia from antiquity.But Selassie in Jamaica and other places always said that he was a christian.The next thing about Selassie was that he was Crowned in a Cathedral and not a Mosque.Receiving the triple crown(father son and holy ghost)or the crown of the trinity.Peter Carlos Hinds.Rightful King of Ashanty.Barbados.
