Mike, your last flight in Scrappy (20-30 years from now) should be delivering it to the EAA Museum. I can't think of another airplane or builder that better embodies the spirit of EAA and the aviation community in general. Kudos my friend!

I first started watching your channel about a year ago after seeing a video of Draco in action. I've since made the decision to go back to school and work towards a degree in mechanical engineering. I've got to say, you've been a huge influence on me. Whenever the going gets tough I remind myself of all that you and your brother have built, accomplished, and overcome and it pushes me to keep going. I've always had a fascination with flying and despite having never flown until this past year I find myself striving to learn what goes into the design and building of an high performance bush plane. I just want to say thank you for what you do and keep at it. I can't wait to see Scrappy take flight, and since moving to Arizona maybe there's a chance I'll get the opportunity of seeing it in person. Who knows, maybe I'll end up working for you one day. I can't think of a better way to learn from the best.

When Mike says I love you guys he really means it. That gets lost in today's world for the most part but love will never fail though everything else will.

I'm almost embarrassed to express how much I enjoy and look forward to seeing your latest progress and innovations. I discovered you very late...about the middle of your Draco video series. I watched every one of those Draco build videos. I used to work on airplanes in the Air Force...so I am somewhat familiar with what goes into maintaining and aircraft. But YOU!...are on a different level entirely....what can't you do? You do everything from the engineering, design, stress analysis, fabrication, TIG welding, an expert with carbon fiber, building, wrenching and piloting. You were born to be around airplanes! I am really looking forward to the next video installment of the Scrappy build....it's shaping up to be a world class bush plane! Thank you for the high production value videos, they are well done. Thank you for making an effort to promote and share aviation.!

Watching your build has restored my faith in humanity. As a trained engineer having worked across many disciplines and sciences I have become very jaded with the KZfaq engineering community. The number of so called experts, engineers, technicians and home builders getting simple math, physics, chemistry, engineering and electronics incorrect is astonishingly high (I wish it was possible to have their certifications, education and channels revoked). It is fantastic to watch somebody understand, implement and build something correctly. The astounding number of trained professionals who do not understand simple concepts and continually push false information on to the unsuspecting masses should be ashamed of themselves. Keep going hard and strong Mike.

Twice in past updates you've hinted/shown briefly that you have done a BRS test. Seeing this update, I can only hope that the test is long done in the past and simply not yet shown in full during an update, because I would hate to see this AMAZINGLY AWESOME paint/color/clear job get messed up during said test. :) Mike, you are an inspiration to people, and not only to pilots and plane builders, and what you chose to do with the names, that you even thought to do it and, to cap that off, the time and care you invested in implementation, just shows that you are a superlative person. When I started going to EAA as a kid (a blessing to live not to far away from Oshkosh), I was amazed that people could build airplanes at home. I was introduced to some of Steve Whitman's designs and thought WOW, what an absolute genius. Then all these new sleek Rutan designs started showing up, and I thought the same thing, WOW, what an absolute genius. In my mind, things kind of stagnated for a few years... but then I saw Draco, and some of Mike's other designs, and those same words came to mind... Mike, you're a gift to GA. Can't wait to see Scrappy and Draco X at OSH.

So I've been following the Draco build and history, scrappy build as well. It has been absolutely awesome! I just completed my 27th surgery (that was caused by a drunk driver) and am now walking. It has been a light in a dark place for me during these times. One day I hope to be able to fly and give my children this opportunity. THANKS Mike! Great stuff. I'm waiting for your next video...with white KNUCKLED. 👍

There are many people who build aircraft and they look great and fly well, however, when you build an aircraft it is an engineering work or art that is meticulous in every aspect of design and performance. It's a pleasure to follow every episode on your channel and watch the build. I sincerely appreciated the way you gave tribute to all those in your general aviation life by putting their names and organization on Scrappy. That's classy! To be honest with you one of my greatest joys is gonna be the day that I receive my light sport pilot license and I fly my airplane up to where you live and possibly see you out flying with scrappy and have the benefit and the privilege of flying next to somebody that I admired more than just about anybody else God-bless you brother keep doing what you're doing because you are an inspiration to a lot of people.

When she climbed out of the wreckage of Draco and didn’t kick Mike in his huge Titainium Balls we knew she was a KEEPER. And Mike..... well what can you say about a guy that can build a plane and say I did I it my self..... and then crash a plane and say..... wait for it ..... I did it myself...... Mikes a KEEPER as well.... allways in Aw. Be safe.

As someone who's always dreamed of flying but never actually done anything about it, watching these videos has me thinking very heavily about taking the first steps... your enthusiasm in building these planes is so awesome and inspiring to me. Its made me examine how I build my cars!

Watching this aircraft come together over time is amazing . For instance the firewall looks great remembering its humble beginnings . Every individual aspect is professional and compelling . Simply inspirational . A real testament to yankee ingenuity and frankly love of aviation as expressed by the genius and dedication of Mike Patey and his family .
