Personally, I think the worst questions are the yes or no questions, i.e. Are we excited by the Tomorrowland trailer? Should there be Star Wars spin offs? It's much better when the three panelists can have a different argument!

Dan's so ahead of everyone's thoughts lol...The only way he might lose will either be intentionally or get pushed to the side to simply have a "new champion" and make it fresh, but in NO way, shape or form they can beat Dan in moviefights with the regular crew(so supportive, so much faith)... Bring Chris Stuckmann, The Nostalgia Critic or James Rolfe, I´d love to see them fight Dan :D

On the topic of the Star Wars Spin-Offs: Most of the Star Wars comics, novels, and games focus on smaller scale stories or sides of the universe that the Episodes don't cover. And it works. Fans eat that stuff up, and I think annual Star Wars summer blockbusters would be fantastic. Leave the massive set pieces and the true movie magic for the main Episodes, but give us gritty action, maniacal schemes, rising heroes, and possibly even stories set on just one planet for the spin-offs.
@ericstaples7220

I can not agree enough. I ate up the Star Wars expanded universe and could not get enough. If it worked for comics, books, and video games, why not movies? It's a different medium, sure, and of course it could go wrong. But I found the radical, no holds barred, "I'm against it at all costs" position in the video kind of silly and premature.

0:54:47 FIGHT 5: Best revenge film of all time? *Oldboy*. (the korean one, of course, not the shitty remake!) That movie goes where no movie had gone before to portray revenge in film, with such skill that it leaves you disturbed. It does not feel fair, it does not glorify revenge, but it makes you feel it is _deserved_

Alex Caddo I 100% agree that the Count of Monte Cristo is the greatest revenge story of all time. Nothing will ever top it. But we have never seen a true adaptation to the novel. The only one that comes close is the Japanese anime tv series, but not in the movie world. And it's sad, because I really want to see a great movie of the novel made.

Gankutsuou was good, but the animation messed with me. And true, the movie is not a perfect adaptation of the book, but it had decent casting and for the people who didn't read the book it was still very satisfying to watch him come back for them all, one by one.

Alex Caddo The animation messed with me too. There were times when it was good and other times when it had me confused with what was going on and what exactly everyone was wearing. But I thought it was a well done, faithful adaptation to the novel. My one biggest problem was the ending.

Wasn't it the plants that were killing people in The Happening? I think the story was that the plants felt over threatened by the number of people and if there were too many people in one place the pollen (Or whatever) would be released and cause the people to start killing themselves (And at the end of the movie it was even if you were alone)

Allow me to say up front, TLDR; Star Wars spin-offs are a fantastic idea. Now for as to why. There is an absolutely HUGE community of extended universe fans that were horribly let down when Disney made it clear that outside of the original movies, nothing was canon anymore. Through spin-offs, they will not only have the opportunity to legitimize their own extended universe, but give us a window into their view of the other happenings in the Star Wars galaxy. A movie based upon bounty hunters will most likely end up being like a sci fi spaghetti western, and I don't think that's a problem. I would love to see this kind of movie personally, and having it tied into the Star Wars universe would be that much more awesome. There are a lot of opportunities with the Knights of the Old Republic period. Yes, it would be far more niche than a bounty hunter movie or this likely Rogue Squadron movie coming out, but with 2.2 million copies of Knights of the Old Republic game sold as well as 2.7 million copies of Star Wars: The Old Republic sold, there is obviously interest. Hell, the Shadows of the Empire games, and accompanied books, fit really well alongside the Saga era's storyline as an almost Mission Impossible style story. Dash Rendar would make an absolutely ideal spin-off main character. He's got all the qualities people love about Han Solo, but just as bad ass as Boba Fett. He takes down an AT-ST (or chicken-walker for some people) by himself with a blaster and some well placed explosives. He even beats Boba Fett by the end of the story. So in short, just make spin-offs from the Star Wars games. Wide enough audience to draw people, great storylines, and so much to work with. So I'll come out and say that Roger knocked this one out of the park. Not at this exact moment, but they definitely need to happen.

I think with spinoffs Disney is giving Star Wars the Marvel treatment: stand-alone films exploring pivotal characters that will be brought together in the larger scale three episode films...and if they do them right I think they're a great idea.

Question: What is the one movie everyone should have in their collection?
@wonderbatthat1310
@wonderbatthat1310 9 жыл бұрын
Gaslight starring Ingrid Bergman. It's about a young woman who's aunt mysteriously died years earlier. She gets married to this older man and they move back into the aunt's house in London. He slowly starts to convince her she's insane and puts the blame on her for everything. A cop is investigating them, since the aunt was strangled years earlier and they never found the killer. Ingrid Bergman won an Oscar, and it was Angela Lansbury's first role. She was 17. It is basically about manipulation, paranoia, greed, and abuse.

Andy-Method Standings: I devised a way that can better sift through and distribute the rankings of the different players using a points system (1.5 pts/game) and again ignoring the team battle. This method tracks 1st place [1] (1 pt), 2nd place [2] (0.5 pt), 3rd place [3] (0 pt), two-way tie for first [2T] (0.75 pt), three-way tie [3T] (0.5 pt), two-way tie for second with at least 1 point [T2] (0.25 pt), shutout win [SW] (1.5 pts), and shutout loss [SL] (0 pts). In the event of a shutout (winner gets all questions asked (with the exception of a tie-breaker - if one is done - given to the other two players)), the two non-scorers would each get no points, and the winner gets 1.5. Fraction is calculated by total points divided by number of matches. In the event of a tied fraction, competitors are sorted by most wins, then most second place finishes. Rank.Competitor/____(1-2-3-2T-3T-T2-SW-SL)=Fraction 1. Dan Murrell/______(6-0-0---0---0----0----0---0)=1.000 2. Alicia Malone/_____(1-1-0--0---0----0----0---0)=0.750 3. The best questions are where you have the contestants pitch an idea. Yes or no questions are often boring, and "best whatever" questions are so insanely subjective and they just pick the more iconic one, or they get bogged down in semantics. I really like when the contestants have to pitch a movie idea, a casting, a trailer, an after the credits scene.

Star Wars is just a setting, and any type of movie (adventure, heist, drama, etc.) can be made in it so long as it is made well. Not every Star Wars movie needs to have the same tone or pacing as the original trilogy, in fact, that would be a damn shame because there is so much in that universe to explore. It's not some sacred thing that needs to be the same every time, it's a setting; an amazing setting, possibly the best setting, and that is why it absolutely needs spinoffs. There are more stories to be told.

What scares me about spin-offs, is that it can ruin a character from the main film as well. For example, I am a huuuge Darth Maul fan. In episode 1, he was hardcore and vicious. Thats how he went out and thats how I remember him. Years later, the Clone War series brings back Darth Maul with he has spider-like bionic legs and a very vulnerable persona. At one point, he even faces Sidious and begs for mercy. BEGS for mercy??!!!! Are you kidding me?? Ruined the character for me. I would prefer a spinoff that take place somewhere else and doesn't touch characters we've come to love. My 2 cents...
@tatehildyard5332
@tatehildyard5332 9 жыл бұрын
I don't consider Clone Wars canon or lore but at least Clone Wars gave him a personality. Despite the fact that I think Phantom Menace is somewhat descent, one of my biggest issues with it was that Maul had no personality or character. He was just a generic assassin character.
@unlimited-edge
@unlimited-edge 9 жыл бұрын
The thing is, Clone Wars might've been cannon... The reason I say this is because Rebels is cannon, and in one episode, Asohka shows up to meet the rebel cell. So it might just be...
@rickstarwars
@rickstarwars 9 жыл бұрын
Not a generic assassin, a deadly & effective one trained by Sidious. He took on 2 Jedis, specifically killing a Jedi Master. The way he lost to Obi Wan is still bullish*t to me. He had "the high ground." Regardless of canon or not, my point still stands. What if the spinoff film show's how Han Solo was really a nerdy kid that grew up wanting to look badass? Now that just ruins the mystery of Han Solo's history and ruins your perception of the character to a degree, from the original series. And I've read several places that Clone Wars and Rebels are indeed canon.
@DOCTAxSWAG
@DOCTAxSWAG 9 жыл бұрын
I actually loved Maul from the Clone Wars (except the mercy part). You saw him as ruthless, a schemer, and that badass lightsaber duel with sidious. I mean he made him have to catch his breath which goes along way given he's the most powerful being in the universe.
@rickstarwars
@rickstarwars 9 жыл бұрын
DOCTAxSWAG That freaking part where he breaks down and begs for mercy, tho. Jesus, it went TOTALLY against what made him ruthless. I wish they would've just left him dead, the way he was, as a badass. Now for the glass half-full part. Given that he is alive and the show is cannon... it makes me wonder if he'll make an appearance in Episode 7!? Either him or Mace Windu. I still think Mace Windu would've used the force to help him land safely somewhere, much like Anakin did in Episode 2.

Jason is spot on. Star Wars is higher than spin offs and fan pleasing for more movies. It was inevitable this would happen. A Star Wars movie has to be a long awaited event. Annual Star Wars is something I'm very not optimistic about. It's better than having an actual episode every year. But just imagine, IF, in all of the movie industry's stuffing of constant consecutive sequels of the same franchise, Star Wars holds its ground and only has its episodes released every 3 or 4 years. That would make me so happy.

1. Erin acted uninterested the entire time and was somewhat annoying. 2. This was one of the only times I honestly enjoyed Roger. 3. Jason (although he argues semantics a lot) is a good guest.

John Doe - Se7en, easily the best 90s villain maybe the best of all time

Bryan Carvente Hannibal Lector was amazing there is no denying that however as a villain goes it has to be John Doe. Hannibal Lector did indeed aid the hero against the villain (Propp's theory states that all narratives follow the same characters heroes, villains etc so according to this Lector is seen as a helper - who aids the hero on their quest, which he does. The real villain is Buffalo Bill.) John Doe completely changed the film and created the most intense final third of a film I have ever scene his calm persona and sick quotes in the short time were class there is no denying that.

Bryan Carvente I always thought of Hannibal Lector as a anti-villain.

I thought Agent Smith from the Matrix, so good that for the other movies they just made even more of him.

***** John Doe is Keyser Soze. After the events of the Usual Suspects, he starts cutting his finger tips off and begins his murders in the movie Se7en.

Hi. I have a question for movie fights. Which would be the best DC or Marvel movie franchise to give a tv show to? (Personally, I think Spiderman so his hero career could catch up with the rest of the marvel universe.

To have a 60 -90 minute movie with the origin of Boba Fett before Star Wars XII would not only boost the sales of Star Wars XII, but would bring a whole new generation into the Star Wars franchise. It's a GREAT IDEA.
