This is amazing! It kills me when some conceited art snob says that a Jackson Pollock, Barnett Newman, etc have as much artistic worth as this. This craft takes painstaking time and effort to master. Keep up the good work! RESPECT ✊

Josh, I was meaning to write you for a while. I am an 88 y.o. kid, that recently decided to "sculpt", after a long working life as an engineer, my profession. I did manage to learn how to "make" bronze sculptures after 4 years of arduous work in each one of all the operations required, until I realized that I am still far away to know HOW to "sculpt". I explored endless U-tube tutorials, and very recently I found yours. That date marked a "before and after", since you taught me to look and then to see what I want to sculpt. Not to mention that I started using polymer clay, and concentrating only on heads. Thank you! I still have a long road to travel, but now you gave me the right tools to do it. Thank you again!!!!!

Loving these tutorials Josh, I am a beginner and had no intention of sculpting as I am a fibre artist! However.. I made a war horse and decided every warhorse needs its soldier! .. thankyou for your time 😊

Been working with sculpey and sculpey firm quite a lot lately, but still found this Sculpey 101 helpful. Thanks for creating these! Only thing that's a bit bothering is some of the sound effects :D

Wow.. those ears are just amazing! it is sooo damn difficult to make them, but yours seems to be even real!!! I'm impressed! Well I just started sculpting, that's maybe why but I've seen other videos on youtube and your ears are by far the best ones I've seen! Congrats! Aw, just one thing, there was the last touches for the ears that I would have preferred to see instead of making it going forward, but that's just me! other than that, everything is awesome!! (like the Lego's song! haha) :)))))

Dude, I started sculpting with your tutorials. It has advanced me years faster than having to learn it on my own. But now I am questioning WTF did I just get myself into this time around. All I needed was another hobby to obsess about. LOL

How you know what the subject's nose looks like from the profile view? The model's nose looks like it's more round at the tip instead of pointy.

When you scoop material out to make the entrance to the ear canal and stuff it looks like you are taking out a huge chunk of wax. The dude could make candles like Shrek hahahahaa Anyway, wonderful tutorial. Probably trying something with fimo soon. Thank you!

Been watching your 101 vids since the first. They and you are very good. Does polymer clay adhere to itself better than other clays? I note that you seldom score adjoining pieces.
@JoshForeman
@JoshForeman 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, polymer clay sticks to itself just fine. You can even add to it after you bake one part, though for that I recommend using a product designed to glue the pieces together as shown in this video. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iZqEpLyGnLaZcps.html

Hey Josh, will you please tell me where you purchased that fantastic anatomical model you have? I've been all over the web searching for months and can't find that size & quality. Any info you can share would be very much appreciated.

Would you try that with air dry clay ?
@JoshForeman
@JoshForeman 5 жыл бұрын
Most of these techniques could transfer to air dry clay, but would require some amount of modification.

@@you-tubejunkie2926 Every kind of clay has unique properties. It would take a book to explain all the differences though. That's why I picked the material that I thought was best and easiest for beginners.
