I just want to thank you for explaining what you are doing. Too many KZfaqrs just film themselves working, add some sound, and then call it a tutorial. Your videos have been so helpful.

Just coming in to say: Not only are you entertaining to watch, but you are ACTUALLY helpful. So many channels focus on making a perfect upbeat fast tutorial that doesn't really teach you anything. You just get to see them being perfect and good at what they do. You are actually explaining things clearly, and you are addressing very honest "mistakes" and faults in the sculpture. I like that. A lot. Thank you so much for taking the time to do all this and to share your knowledge with us. Seriously. Ok back to watching the rest of your videos. This is gonna be an all nighter! Haha.

I just want to say I say here for an hour searching through my subscriptions because I LOVE your videos so much, but I thought I was subscribed. I think it’s on my other channel, but I wanted to say that you were the first person I ever watched on clay techniques when I first started clay in early 22. I want to thank you for your helpful videos and I’m subscribed to the channel now on my main page and will never lose you again! 😂 Thank you for being you! ❤

Thank you :) I was so absorbed, that I almost shout in shock when you cut a half of a face :))) And thank you for the perspective you give me. I am not sure if I would sculpt faces (I am a DIY-er, not an artist, so I will probably sculpt parts and objects I need), but I learn a lot about the healthy atidude. I encourage everybody to go back to the missed episodes - they are rich and also funny.

Thank you for explaining so well. I really liked the tutorial, it was very helpful for me as a beginner to learn the basics. However sculpting is very calming and creative process with great patients but the sound effects on the videos made it so disturbing and distracting that I had to fast forward/mute most of the parts :((

Thank you so much for these videos, Josh. Great sense of humor too! I'd like to know if you prefer using sculpty to regular clay that you fire. Is there an advantage to sculpty, or is it just so you don't need a clay firing system?

Hello. After watching just one of your videos I bought a block of Sculpey III. Love it! However, I've made Spock, a cat, octopus, Doberman, several caricatures, etc. Squished them all and started over. My question: until I decide what I'll finally make, does this clay have shelf life? I keep it in a zip lock baggie while not in use but it leaves a minute amount of clay on my hands ( I don't use tools) which is normal for earth clays but I'm new to polymers. Does it eventually reach a state where it becomes useless? Btw, love your videos!
@JoshForeman
@JoshForeman 6 жыл бұрын
It has a shelf life of years, even uncovered, and no amount of working and reworking it will diminish that. The only exception is if you use alcohol to smooth it down. That will sap some of it's life. But overall, it's by far the most forgiving sculpting medium I've ever worked with, and why I did my beginners series with it. Glad you're having fun!

There are so many variables, and even when there's not I'm TERRIBLE and estimating working time. For this whole sculpture I think I probably spent about 15 hours. It's even harder to say since recording and talking takes a lot of time/bandwidth.
