And, hopefully, they'll be the Reform Party of next election; causing an up-set that results in the Labour Party taking a back seat or doing some significant re-aligning.

The SDP have now won my support for the long-haul. As a voter with a few years under my belt, I'm growing ever tired of those who dismiss the idea of voting on principle, in favour of "electability" or tactical voting with the larger parties. And then, those same voters act surprised when they don't get the politics they want....... The SDP are meeting that public need for principled, serious, society-oriented politics, which we've been lacking for too long, and I am hoping to see them grow in the months and years to come.

I’m an SDP member, Definitely the best party and only political party speaking any sense. Sadly due to my work I’m not able to stand and there’s no SDP candidate in Exeter where I live, So I’ll probably end up voting Reform uk. There are a couple of independents standing but I’m not sure of their political beliefs, Policies or background.

BBC presenter's facial expressions around 2:36 just scream impartiality, not. Gone the days when british media asked questions with a straight face. There is a gap in the political spectrum for SDP. A party that wants to focus on industry isn't such a bad idea when there is a war on the European continent. No-one wants war, of course. But the corrupted souls will strike when they sense weakness. Some political parties risk making this country defenceless. Having read the SDP manifesto there is nothing I fundamentally disagree with. It's a shame the candidate in my area made way for Reform. I don't particurlary agree with all of Reform's policies, but they are probably the only party to give Labour an staunch opposition. If tories finished 2nd in this election, then Labour will simply spend the next four years blaming the tory government for everything that's wrong and nothing in society will truly change. To retort Sunak's claim that Labour have no plan... Labour's plan is simply to not say anything that will offend anyone and by virtue of not being tories, will walk the election. They don't need to make outlandish pledges because this is probably the most one-sided election ever in Britain for a long time.

There's an SDP candidate in my constituency and a Reform one but it will be the SDP who will be getting my vote. Their position on the economy is much more in tune with my own and too many Thatcherites in Reform.

If the BBC will give this party airtime, why are they so shy of doing the same for the Workers Party of Great Britain? These are two very similar parties, apart from one obvious difference. Why no mention of Gaza? The workers party is even feilding more candidates. This is the establishment showing itself as biased against threats to established power.

I joined the SDP in 1983. Like the majority of the membership, I voted to merge with the Liberals to form the (Social &) Liberal Democrats. I left them in 2009 over religious freedom as they supported Ecumenism and the continued oppression and discrimination and murder of True Orthodox Christians such as myself, and refused to oppose Vladimir Putin's Russia under all circumstances, refusing to recognise that his regime is a continuation of the Soviet Union and soviet expansionism. I subsequently joined the Christian People's Alliance, but it also refused to condemn ecumenism. I am now Iberia co-ordinator for RejoinEU Party. This SDP's opposition to European integration is totally opposed to the overwhelming majority of the original membership, as its pact and joint candidatures with Reform UK show.

Labour used to say British jobs for British people in the 80s....They would throw-up if they said that now. Comparing the SDP or any party to what they were 40 years ago in nuts. The new SDP is fit for purpose and fit for 2024 :) x
