Gasoline is way more flammable than seafoam. I only say this because seafoam doesn't really light that easily. It's definitely not something I worry about while using the product. If I were using brake cleaner, ether, carb cleaner, or was holding a small bottle of gasoline I would be way more careful than I feel the need to be with seafoam. Granted, it definitely doesn't need to be added to the oil while the engine is running. And I personally don't/wouldn't run the engine with the oil cap off myself. You drop something in there on accident and you go from pulling the valve cover to a much more costly repair in a snap. Can't ever be too careful anytime you're in an engine bay though. Especially while it is hot or running.

As for treatment... The stuff does work. But do know it is more of a cleaning additive than a lubricant. Leaving a ton of it in your oil for a long period will likely end up causing damage. It should be added and used like the instructions say at most. I personally don't run it in the oil day to day. I will use it to clean things up like this while at idle or with some revving and maybe a short jaunt around the block at operating temperature. I would never just pour a bunch of it in my oil and run it from oil change to oil change. I typically will do this before an oil change every so often if I see or feel the need. Drain it and add fresh oil/filter.

Cheap oils build up varnishes and sludge during decomposition (because they’re cheap). High quality breaks down a lot slower, allowing an extended (15,000 miles +) or even a normal interval (5000 miles) oil change without any sludge buildup. Sludge is indicative that the very components put in for wear and lubricity have already started to separate from the “carrier” base. Most oil companies get their base from very few suppliers in the U.S, but its the additives in the oil that define its efficiency and quality. Try Amsoil, its all I use in EVERYTHING. Zero turn, push mower, 4 wheeler, tractor, GMC HD 2500 Diesel, Chevy Silverado, and in my 50hp 3 cylinder 2stroke in the fuel ⛽️, it cleared a needle valve copper colored needle problem I had and engine ran like new again. You get back in longevity what you put in your engines. I might pay $15.49 per quart ( Amsoil signature series) , but if I wanted to , I could go to the stated 25,000 miles before an oil change. I usually go to 15,000. So the 5000 miles all other oils claim you need to change, and font till 15,000, thats where the benefits start. So divide my initial cost by THREE and you get the savings. $15.49 per quart divided by 3 oil change intervals, and it comes to $5.16 per quart, without all the oil changes in between. Not to mention the cost of your oil brand times 3, ( 5000 miles X three times) and Amsoil comes out much cheaper, less times on the rack, and better engine longevity. They even sell a hand pump kit with oil sample bottle and hose, to siphon oil through your dipstick, to mail in for an in depth oil analysis. They’ll literally tell you how many more miles you can go before it needs changing. Having said all this, Seafoam absolutely works, use it to initially clean out your former sludge producing oils, by putting in 100 miles before oil change, drive it normally then change the oil. Add the maintenance dose specified on the can, and continue till 5000 miles ( I disregard the 15,000 this first Amsoil- oil change), because Im trying to get the remnants of old oil, not drained initially during the last change, and any extra the maintenance dose might have loosened since then….can’t help it I’m anal that way. THEN, I ONLY use Seafoam 100 miles before as specified to assist future oil changes and drainage to cover possible leftover residues. But no more maintenance doses. I’ve had no engine problems for decades. You get out, what you put in. A little investment now, saves a costly repair and or damage later. No I don’t sell either product. I try to share personal experience and explain as fully as possible.

You know systems are pressurized and it's not good to have the oil cap off with the motor running right ?
@dominicstephens781 Жыл бұрын
I hope it's not pressurized, if your crankcase ventilation is working properly it should be under a vaccum.
@slowseton7211 Жыл бұрын
Yeah should be negative pressure. Not bad the the engine during idle/short periods of time. May throw a CEL or something but just restart/reset and get on with your day.

The noise is coming from it not having a cap on. As I was watching this I was hoping this person wouldn’t try and play it off as if the product had worked so well when it was the oil cap the entire time. 🤦🏻♂️

Adding seafoam to that worthless clunker is a major Capital improvement which is a shame and a waste!! 😞

What does it sound like after a proper oil change?

Perfect
@nikkilovetheyardsale-again2608Ай бұрын
You better go get yourself some topnof the line engine flush and take that cover off the top of the engine and CLEAN THAT SHIT. If its knocking like this chances are your engine isngoing ro blow from all the sludge buld up. Hopefully it saves it. IF do what i just said. Also change the oil. Then after 800 miles change that oil again. If you make it to thet point you should be in the clear. Regular maintenance is needed just like anything in this world. Especially a bunch of metal grinding and clicking together on MASSIVE scale, under MASSIVE PRESSURE. Please that. 🙏

I can pull a plug wire, pour kerosene in the crankcase put the plug wire back on and get the same results.

Difference between synthetic and regular oil changes. Synthetic oil wouldn’t give ya all that coked up oil in the engine.

just cuz its synth doesn't mean it lasts forever

Eso está mal!!, es 1oz por cada 4to de aceite si te pasas de cantidad degradas demasiado el aceite y puedes dañar el motor, 5oz x 5cuartos y se conduce unas 200 millas y se hace otro cambio de aceite nuevo....

An oil change earlier wouldn't have required seafoam, same result would have been achieved with Wynns engine flush or similar to loosen that noisy hydraulic lifter because of sludge. Not shooting down the product. Just saying.

Agreed but I can’t control what the previous owners do or don’t do, yes there’s many way to do this… I just prefer SeaFoam.
