Bless you, Dr. Chung. You are such a caring doctor. I hope I never need your kind of surgery, but I’ve had a hip replacement, hysterectomy, plus many kidney-related surgeries, both inpatient and outpatient. Never have I heard a word from my doctors between hospital discharge and the post-surgery in-office checkup. I guess they are too busy…😢

Thank you so much for your insistence on compassionate pain management for patients, and making that one of your core values ❤ I truly wish some of these cold and heartless doctors/nurses can feel the acute pain their patients are feeling, or the accumulated pain and fatigue chronic pain some people carry with them for decades, so they could look at us as human beings, deserving of relief and mercy. I couldn't agree with you more on taking pain medication as soon as you notice the pain, and not just waiting around trying to soldier through it. Even after decades of being this way, I still do that to myself daily. Part of that is of course the "this isn't bad enough" mentality that was drilled in me by, well, everyone, doctors or no, and part of it is because when you have chronic pain, you're not mentally aware enough to even recognize that you're in pain (and promptly take action) until it's so bad you can barely move. People act like those who are on painkiller (esp. on the long haul) just willy nilly drop everything the second they feel the tiniest prick in their bodies... Well guess what, turns out that's not so far off from actual legitimate medical advice. There is nothing wrong with taking a proactive approach to combating pain, and I wish more people understand that, rather than clinging to some kind of weird virtue in suffering.

When I was at my doctor's office yesterday, we 1) checked my blood work that was perfect, 2) talked about how I think my medicin works for me, and 3) the doctor meassured my blood preassure. Based on everything we did and talked about, doctor told me that I can stop taking the medicin. If they had told me to continue taking the medicin, I would do as they said.

In December of 2018, my life changed forever. I had to have emergency surgery after having surgery to fix an anal prolapse. I accidentally tore my stitches and a piece of my sigmoid colon. As soon as I woke from the surgery, my tail bone hurt. I also had tenemus and couldn't walk 5 min without having the feeling I had to go. I ended up going back to my pain clinic and explained my situation. Since then, I have been on oxycodone just not to have that feeling. Nothing is worse than an anal spasm and the pain medications help with that.

I've been using the Pranicura cream for a few weeks, and it's working a little. I have a consultation with MN Gastroenterology this Wednesday and I know I'll need surgery for my hemorrhoids because they bleed and are so uncomfortable. I already take Percocet ( 3 per day) for my arthritis in my lower back and my knees. Will that affect how many pain meds they plan to give me?

I had exparel injection during my surgery . Unfortunately it did not work at all .. I woke up in screaming pain. The only thing that helped me was alternating ibuprofen 800mg with oxycodone amd sits Baths hurt me horribly ... I know they've helped alot of people but not for me .. This surgeon knows what he's talking about . I love his chanel . I don't know why exparel didn't work for me. It didn't even work on me for my hysterectomy surgery either . I was sad because it was very expensive my insurance didn't cover it. .

Hemorrhoids will heal, but they won't go back to their original size and condition. They do get weaker over time. The best method is to prevent the damage in the first place.

Hello Dr.. I had thrombosed and it was extremely painful. I took anti inflammatory pills and I am constantly doing sitz bath and eating porridge. I'm trying my best to avoid surgery. I wonder if surgery is necessary for a complete recovery. It's been five months now that I am in strict diet. I really crave for spicy food some days! 😢

You didn't address the constipation that some of these meds cause or how to prevent it while you're taking it. I was prescribed Percocet for my fissure pain but I'm terrified to take any more than I need for pain because I don't want to get addicted and most of all, don't want to get constipated.

Dr.Chung thank u so much✨ "I want to ask you, five days ago I had a hemorrhoidectomy, but after two days, I cannot poop. Just a little bit of small poop comes out. Today, also when I sit on the toilet, only small pieces of poop come out. I am really worried about it because of anal spasms. Day by day, the pain is getting better, but when I try to poop, it's like a nightmare. 😥"it suggests that the stool is very small and narrow, similar in size to a finger.

Guys, I went vegan last Veganuary and my chronic, inflamed and bleeding hemorrhoids haven’t flared up since! And I’ve been suffering from terrible muscle pain, tightness and inflammation in my neck, back, shoulder area for thirty years, 95% GONE! I’m pretty sure was the dairy. Cow milk is full of pregnant momma cow hormones because the poor cows are constantly artificially impregnated so they can continuously produce milk and their babies stolen from them and killed. Humans are the only animals that consume another species milk into adulthood. Seventy five percent of the world’s population is can’t digest milk because it’s not for human consumption. Plus, dairy is linked to prostate cancer, breast cancer, asthma, allergies, acne, et cetera. Listen, you don’t have to go vegan, just eat more plants than murdered, innocent animals, but completely cut-out the dairy and see what happens to your health. Oh, my gosh. I feel awesome and normal. Best wishes!
