Hi Guys, welcome to part 2 of the Seiko 7S36 assembly tutorial. In this video I show you how I assemble the dial side of this movement. All the oiling points I do, motion works, Calendar works and then the dial and hands. I do make a few mistakes along the way but you will see all of that in the video!

I am aiming to get a "big" Seiko at some point, I abs adore my little 7009-3100 I bought for a pound but I do like heavy big watches as well. I find your vids refreshing in that you own your mistakes and take it in your stride, when I was putting together my other 090 Amphibia, being a noob myself I was faced with the problem that I couldn't put one of the hands on and had to watch videos to ascertain I had mislaid the canon pinion and that heart stopping moment trying to find another 2209 movement in my scrap movements tub and I found one right at the bottom phew...

My 7009-3100 has a lovely day date operation, clicks over on each one after the other with a lovely firm snick, no dawdling or partial's but a clean crisp advance every time :)

I am impressed, I once did a minuscule beat adjustment on a 7S26C and it caused a noisy beat never to be recovered. Problems are you cannot buy genuine balance spring assemblies & escape levers so this watch is scrap and I've learnt to live with how they operate ex 🏭 factory and enjoy as you need way more watch making skills than a hobbyist could ever learn when unexpected things happen. So you that have skills & knowledge 👏 you are amazing!

Very good video as usual. It's good to see the mistakes as well because these are probably areas where we will also make mistakes. Many thanks and keep it up please!

Loving your videos, Mike!! Enjoy your banter and the fact that you show your omission errors. I have the 7S26 movement in my Seiko...but, right now I wouldn't dare take it apart because reassembly would be my failing grace!

Very good and no shame in forgetting a part, I mean, I've never done that of course, ahem, shuffles off to the side. 😁 I don't think you're alone there. I'm sure most of us have done it. Another nice result and that's what matters.

Just uploading my latest watch vid, my daughters think it is quite amusing lol Trying to show how getting the right strap or bracelet really brings a watch to life :) Tomorrow is getting the minute and second hand fitted to my other Vostok Amphibia, its a set of custom "paddle" hands with bright blue superluminova and still to get that damned balance assy in as I keep misaligning the little driving stone on the underside of the wheel lol

I liked how ya removed the jewels 💎 (rubies) from a watch on one ☝️ of your videos. I understand them breaking, but they were probably worn out anyway. The width of the new jewels 💎 were not the same as the old ones. As the years went by, the standards were no longer the same. Ya probably had to sand the new jewels 💎 to the same width as the old ones. I just hope ya got the sizing fixed before ya broke the old jewels 💎. Your friend, Jeff.

AV Cuber haha thanks . It’s not easy as the camera is where my head should be. I am hoping to film something good soon but as it will be my first attempt in such a movement filming makes it even more scary

@@MyRetroWatches I tried filming with the camera at the other side but then my hands would show up upside down and it as a little weird I also tried filming from above but most of it was just hair... 😂 No watch repair on my channel anytime soon 😅

How many hours do you think you would typically have in a basic seiko movement like this?
@MyRetroWatches
@MyRetroWatches 4 жыл бұрын
pinchnsqueal for me without any problems or filming . 15 minutes to disassemble , hour in the cleaning machine . Rebuild 1 hour max. Regulating 10-30 minutes

Sir you did not show building this step by step. During oiling process movement was in running condition. how to start and how did all such tiny parts were joined and it was not shown. can you reconsider this video for remaking in detail, please.

Why in the world wouldn't you at least edit the video to warn people that you were making a mistake and then show the mistake?? I can appreciate you showing that you aren't perfect, but now iv almost broken my day wheel because I followed your incorrect instructions.. thanks...
