Watch Part 1 here: • The Big Gender Social ...
Eleven strangers of different gender identities and sexualities spend a week together in a house…
In Part 2 we follow the tension that followed from the revelation that one of the housemates chose to hide the fact that they were born in a different gender.
Other housemates discover the courage to face their past, and their future, with the support of their new friends.
The experiment ends with a celebratory dinner where the whole group are reunited.

@@p0shiee844 No he had every right to be annoyed. Marcus didn't even realise what he did wrong until he heard about how terrible things had been for Romario growing up. You don't need to know someone's traumatic past to understand you should never out someone. As a gay guy I hoped he'd know that only you have the right to share your own information. I felt like he was projecting his own struggles with trust and not realising that not being honest about cheating is veery different from withholding that you're trans for a bit.

I think Romario has absolutely nothing to apologize for. You don't out somebody and get into other people's business like that. I would also be livid, let the man take it at his pace. It is obvious that he would have to tell her before they potentially got into bed, and Marcus might now have ruined what could have grown into a nice relationship had Romario been able to do it his own way at his own pace.

Martin, the majority of oppressors are straight men. If you don't reward the small improvements in society you arent going to see much improvement. Marcus was the only one who protected the girls rights to not be lied to in the 'safe' house. It doesn't matter if Romario used drugs or lied, consent is about knowledge, Romario was in the middle of a rape and the only one that protected the girl was Marcus. Romario went through a lot of pain as a child because she didn't know the truth (her mother loved her). Hopefully she learns from this experience. No relationship can start as a lie. There is no telling how she would have felt about Romario if they had started as friends that were honest with each other. She said she still sees a good looking man. But she also still sees a liar. Romario blew it on his own.

@@rmdlgarcia I agree that transgender people should disclose their identity before they jump into a relationship or have sex. However, saying he was raping her is just a ridiculous statement as he did not have sex with her, and iirc they didn't even kiss. I do get the girl's reaction though and she shouldn't have felt like she overreacted. Marcus still wasn't in a position to out Romario though. @@mikaelastefkova Yeah, I get what you mean. I'm non-binary. And, I don't care what genitalia or if they look like a "man", "woman", or "non-binary" and that includes intersex people, kind of like Brooke(she's actually my type, I'm kinda envious of her looks, not gonna lie). The only thing that I really care about is who they are as a person, and while I don't have any genital preference, I do prefer my partners to be on the bigger side like my body is. I've never once in my life been attracted to skinny people. Like, I can't imagine myself with a skinny person. I tried dating a skinny person, but it just didn't work out. They cheated on me, but they're missing out :) I didn't feel anything. However, Jack Black and Melissa McCarthy? I'd love them even if they did some gender bending(I'm aware this term might be offensive, and I do not mean to offend). I'm a non-binary amab. I don't want bottom surgery, but I want hormones and top surgery. Everybody is allowed to have genital preference. I just happen to have a body size preference. I'd probably only wanna date a trans/non-binary person because they have a connection and understanding of what it's like to be in a world where conforming is the only thing that seems to matter in society, and that they can empathize with me on a deeper level that a cisgender person never could.

Romario’s background and journey explains why he is so reluctant to say he is transgender from the get go and why he is still not proud to call himself transgender. That much trauma to the point of suicidal thoughts and being kicked out would have a great impact on someone’s self-eestem and identity. Romario requires a comfortable space to speak about it and he was still getting to that point. MARKUS WAS SOO WRONG FOR OUTING HIM AND THE FACT THAT HE ASKED FOR AN APOLOGY🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂 he did apologize later but I didn’t understand why he was crying as if he was the one who was hurt. I'm not defending his behavior but you don't know what was going on in his head. Being stuck in your own drama sometimes is HUMAN- so all you know for certain is that he's a "text book" human being. He seemed to connect to the situation and didn't know where to draw the line between his personal experiences, and another person's decisions. I can see why it bothered him, though- it bothers me that he kissed her without telling her, too! It really is beautiful. That is the way all parents should be, doing what they believe is the best for their child. My parents were the most loving people you could ever meet. They were always there to encourage and assist me with the things that I became interested in. Well with one exception, my being a transgender woman, which was really quite a new thing for most people in the mid to late 1960s. Maybe they did know something about it because I can remember my mother saying once that I was a good looking boy, but that I wouldn't make a very attractive woman. Anyways they did their best to dissuade me, knowing that I would have a horrible life at that time in history if I were to start living as a woman. They did that out of their love for me, and their wanting the best for me. I think that if we were doing it all today that they would do just what Charlie's parents have done.

Marcus had absolutely no right outing Romario. None whatsoever. All the more so because HE ( Marcus ) was reflecting his negative experience with an ex onto an innocent person. As a gay man, you'd think that he'd know and/or understand that outing someone, be it their gender identity, or sexual orientation, can at times end in terrible circumstances that can not be undone, nor taken back. There are members of the Trans community who have chosen to live a life of stealth for various reasons, a major one of which would be for their personal safety. Something that we should ALL be entitled to regardless of gender, sex, race, and so on. Walking down the street, getting a cup of coffee without anyone batting an eye, etc. Trans people have lost their lives time and time again to situations similar to this, and I won't say all, but quite a few of them have in fact been outed by gay men. Just like we've seen here in this series. The same gay men, mind you, who've more than likely experienced that same exact fear of threatened personal security at some point in their past, current, or present. It's frightening how swift some people are to throw others under the bus despite knowing all too well, from first hand experiences, that those tire tracks leave permanent scars.

Romario obviously wasn’t ready to come out as trans . Every person is different and do things their own way and at their own pace. I feel like someone who once came out as gay should know that. There isn’t a specific time or age when you should tell people who you are or what you identify as . Some people come out when they’re 60 . Some people have children and are married and then something just clicks and they come out . Just because you came out when you where 15 doesn’t mean other people should too

Nowaynoway this is a good point! I just want to add that it could be possible that Romario didn’t want to be labeled as trans, because like they said at the end labels can be decisive. Meaning that, he recognized that he is a man that was born as a woman, but just wanted to be referred to as Romario. I hope that one day well live in a world where there won’t be labels, or at least live in a world with inclusive labels.

Ali Sha, What struck a chord with me was when Marcus (the one who did the outing) said that he was only speaking the truth. This reminded me of my best friend, a cis woman, because she too believes in telling the total truth and let the chips fall where they may. I don't condone Marcus, but his trying to always be truthful is probably a result of his being lied to by his unfaithful partner. He shouldn't have pushed for the apology though, especially after he told Romerio to say his peace and not accepting that. The whole situation was sad. :(

In public no transgender is safe where I live. But for those who are ignorant and don't want to be educated who are usually cis male or cis female , transgender is the easiest concept for them to grasp. They believe that it is impossible for an intersex human to exist. I am intersex in that I have estrogen and testosterone. I was altered at birth. I have had 7 successful, but complicated pregnancies. I wish I was still intact and am more male. I do feel more male and live as a male. I just cannot afford and insurance denies transitioning so I live my life as positive as I can. So yes Brooke is intersex. But, intersex is the crack the lgbt community does not want to accept. Remember also that sexuality and gender are two different issues.

She’s both... having an extra sex chromosome is called intersex. However...she transitioned naturally (hence the term trans) often, intersex individuals go on hormones or undergo procedures to counteract what naturally happens to people who are intersex during puberty. Some individuals who are intersex don’t always have both sex characteristics present (it could be internal or purely hormonal ) however she does. She identifies as a trans woman bc she has zero intentions of altering her physical body and that’s really truly who she is if that’s who she says she is (: hope this clears it up a bit.

Romario's story is heartbreaking. He has to deal with outside factors that make it impossible to live a happy life and then deal with constantly asking himself when can he be a man not trans. It's deeply heartbreaking💔

I'm a straight woman, 59 years old so I was raised with much less tolerance. However, bless my late father who taught me ( a lot through example) to treat people with respect because that's what's most important. We are all really the same after all--just people--on our own journey through life. I do believe that through acceptance and understanding, the fight for acceptance for the LGBT community can actually happen. The group of people filmed for this documentary were phenomenal: courageous, loving, and mature beyond their years.

i will never be able to express how much this documentary meant to me. i think screwing up is part of the process in learning about such a complex topic as gender and sexuality are, even in the LGBTQ+ community, we have SO much to learn about each other, that the only thing that matters is be patient, kind, respectful and love other for who they are, also towards us, o be all of that also to ourselves. in a society that has started to progressively include this type of material i think it’s vital to portray every single aspect of this and how you did it was espectacular. it means a lot that this kind of things exist right now and actually portray the good, the nasty and weird about learning. i loved it all

marcus saying: "i felt intrigued by romario not telling me he's trans" feeds so much into the dangerous narrative that leads to so many trans people being murdered, cause cis people feel tricked by them.

Absolutely loved this documentary part one and two. Ive always wanted to understand more about people in general. I grew up as an artist, straight and with gay malge/ female friends. We always talked about gender role society. We made performance art and touched upon the "phenomena of gender". Together we helped to free the minds of many "straight thinkers". It was absolutely the most memorable and incredible time. Being an Artisan helped me find my way to more truth about the life of human beings. Really happy to have watched this. 🌈✨💜🌺🍎 Thanks for the oppourtunity to gain more knowledge.🍎🤘
