Thank you for your journalism, Chronicles. I get the suspicion the case is rooted in intimidation, SA and victimization. My girlfriend went through something similar with her Father. The DA did not believe he was capable of such acts. They still don't. It is good to see this monster is being brought to justice. I know, he is innocent until proven guilty, but from all of the jailhouse calls, they sealed the deal in ironing out the kind of person Ernesto is. I will stay tuned.

There are so many predators out here that have never been prosecuted because of people like Shirley protecting them. I wonder if they would have gotten Earnest if not for the fraud and theft he was doing, too. I'm just thankful they've got him and are not letting him out. I think we're going to be wondering how blind Shirley was or learning how complicit she was in all of this by the end of this saga. I'm praying for the victims! It doesn't feel like Shirley cares about them.

it's not JUST Shirley's ripe old age that makes this story so ironic, it's also her career that makes it ironic. Shirley has a 30 or 40-year career in media, and there is a presumption that media professionals know how to do research. So, if untrained bloggers can get background info on the man she was marrying and building a life with, then Shirley certainly could have have done the same a long time ago. This is an absolute saga. I know many of us have made some stupid mistakes (self-included), but really, the reflection on Shirley is stunning. I've heard of women living in the same house with mass murderers and according to them they never had a clue of who this person was at all. Part of me wants to believe her, however, I would have thought that she's lived long enough to be a better judge of character than what's been revealed. For a woman of her age --- she is deeply flawed in a valley of denial. There's a time to stand by your man --- there's a time to flee .... run Shirley, run! Keep in mind Shirley was trying to get him released to her home as if 6 weeks ago so she knew what was going on. Steve made her get a divorce she was definitely ok with what he was accused of and the police been made her aware of his actions. She’s sick

Great Job Chronicle Speaks! I find it hard to believe that Shirley didn’t know anything. I just don’t understand why everyone thinks she is innocent and got duped. At some point in the relationship she should have woken up. Especially after the 2nd time he went to jail. Come on now. I wonder about her intellectual level. She doesn’t seem so bright.

Right! 3 separate arrests within a 9 year marriage, plus people were telling her about his past dirty deeds. Shirley willfully chose not to believe the mountain of evidence shown to her and chose not to do her own investigation.

You need to have your own TV Investigation show. Each word I listened to had me hanging on excitedly waiting for your next one. I have been following Ms. Strawberry from the beginning of this horror movie. As a older mature, supposedly intelligent lady giving out advice to people who seemed in desperate need for whatever their problem she and her partner in crime was and I guess still looked highly upon for their advice. I have questions I would like to ask Ms. Strawberry. #1. When she told Ernest to get all the warrants together that he has been served so he can get them taken care of. She mentioned how many years he’s had them. Does this sound like a lady who didn’t know her man has problems with the law, innocent or not? I don’t say Shirley knew all about him (she should’ve known). Something just doesn’t fit the strawberries and crème what ingredient is missing?

@chroniclespeaks. You may want to check lut his history w/Rickey smiley's former co-host Eboni Steele. They were engaged when he started to cheat on Eboni w/Shirley. That's why Shirley said on her apology segment on the air last week that she met him through a 'former friend' - it was Eboni who was a good friend to her. Eboni turned her on to her hairdresser that Shirley (may still go to) and that's where she met Ernesto at the hair salon through an introduction from Eboni. Shirley is only getting back what she deserves at this point. Word on the street is - he messed up Eboni's financial situation as well (including some fraudulent stuff w/SSNs, etc.). Also, word on the curb says, Rickey got rid of Eboni due to her and Shirley's situation over Ernesto as Rickey was so busy taking the side of Steve Harvey's Morning Show. . (you know what I mean).
