In most states, it's easy to get information on marriages and divorces. Sometimes, you may have to dig a little deeper. I helped a friend find information on her "potential" fiance. That fool was still married. She gladly and slowly removed herself from their relationship. She blocked him on all social media. He claimed, "he thought he was divorced." He has child support that he never paid and it's over $15k, right now. They're just big liars.

It's baffling and frankly hard to believe that Shirley and SH didn't vet this guy. Being the shady chameleon that SH is one would think that he would recognize EW's games and sinister behaviors. This is certainly a wakeup call and free life lesson. Just a suggestion, we should be informed so watch and listen but, judge yourself so it won't be you in the future. Be careful from whom you accept advice. Envy and greed breed troubles. Obviously with age doesn't always come wisdom!

However, for a person of his means, public persona, and need for security, it's unfathomable that he wouldn't do a background check and had no knowledge of EW's fraud shenanigans!🤔. My natural aversion to chameleons, charlatans, and greed for money keeps me cautious and on guard.

@Pgschool37 You mean anyone...like Shirley herself, but I was just clarifying what you asked. It was her job to do her due diligence and have a background check done on him. And some of this info was out there because of the way he did Ebony Steele from Ricky Smiley show, whom he had just broken up with before moving on to Shirley. Perhaps she should have been researching him instead of planning a wedding so soon. And since she didn't and married him, the signs have been there since she said out of her own mouth he's been arrested 3 times during the 8 years of marriage, or should I say living together. The getting put out and not paying rent 5 times was an indicator, she's had a chance to get out long before it got this far. Anyway, I am not a Steve fan nor listen/watch anything that has to do with him. But I'm sure if he knew all of this he would have shared it with her, would she have listened, that's not a guarantee. Again, had she dated longer, that could have given time to research him, if you're one to be looking up your friends partner.

When I got married, all they asked was if we were related lol you just sign a contract stating you aren't married already. They don't care. It's a money game. You pay a fee I believe to get married.

I always thought marriage certificates were public record, if they are turned in. I think they have something like 90 days after the marriage license is issued to get married, and the marriage license certification must be turned into the state records office to prove they are married for it to be deemed legal. If it's turned in. If it's not, the marriage is not valid. So for Carol and Martha to be granted a divorce decree, there had to be paperwork filed with that state records office. Something in the milk ain't clean, because when my uncle's now wife filed to get their marriage license, it came up that he had been married to someone already and we didn't even know he was married. It was a shock to all of us. But, what is weird Shirley, who was married before and it didn't work out. At 60, she should have dug deeper. She just seemed to ignore all of it. For God's sake, the man got locked up after they got married.

I remember about twenty years ago where this black man married 3 black women and one white all around the same time! The weird thing was he never got any money out of them, nor ruined their credit. The women all said he was a good hard working man and that's why they all married him! He just married them, rented apartments or bought or rented homes and lived with them!😳 He lived in different cities and in at least one different state with each of them. He also told them he worked for the government in some kind of special secret position which explained his absences from each of them at different times! This went on for several years until finally he got caught and was arrested for bigamy! He said when he was arrested that he was actually relieved because "It was getting to be too much!"😢 The women nor the police could understand his motivation for marrying them because it certainly wasn't money because his wives were just working women without any wealth! He never said why he did it either! A very very strange man!

But in one article, he said he did use money from one wife to court the other and laughed all the way to the altar! But he didn't deplete bank accounts or ruin any of their credit! His last wife was the one who found out and got him arrested. She got an annulment and said she was thinking of changing her profession from bank teller to police officer! PS He had side pieces throughout his marriages and he stated in 1995 or 1996 that he had tested positive for HIV and that his last wife had tested negative and claimed to be sorry for possibly passing it along to anyone else!🙄
