I've seen these scammers talk about their profession and they do things like make up wild claims or intentionally misspell words to make it obvious that it's a scam. Technically no, as they are a private business, and thus, they are allowed to host whatever content they want, and remove as they see fit. The problem is...where else do you go? Twitch is okay, but it doesn't like to do videos like this one, instead streams are their big deal. Same for most others that I know of. So trashy as it is, KZfaq is like this because there is no competition to it to make it improve on the creator's side...and for good reason, it should be noted. What KZfaq does is not easy or simple, no matter what some seem to say, and with an upload rate of, I think presently, 72 hours of new video every second, there's no way monitor it all, so they automate it. As to the 'choosing sides' they aren't preventing you from uploading your video to a private site, or one of the other video type sites, and they have no legal obligation to host it themselves. If it helps bastards like this? Well, that's the way the chips fall. And while I disagree in these instances, the fact is, there are just as many bad actors on the other side of things, uploading things that don't belong to them, even under Fair Use(which is a defense in and of itself, and thus needs to be invoked, and cannot be use preemptively).

What are they responsible for on their platforms, and how much do they consider them a 'public forum' I.E. where does 'business' end and 'public works' begin. Both sides, and you know the two I'm talking about, have made KZfaq and others like them responsible for the content they put up, and as such, have forced their hand in the matter of public interest. Basically, they are told to treat their sites like Billboards, which means no major content violations, and nothing that would upset the user base. The problem is, like with the 'no offensive' tattoo rule that used to be in the US military, this is so open for interpretation that it is almost impossible to not be in violation of the rules, thus forcing the hand of the content creator. That said, no, they don't 'edit' the data, as far as we are aware at the moment. Deleting/blocking is different, as it is a denial of service, something I hold up people should be allowed to do more often, as someone who used to work in the service industry, and there are some assholes in that. Of course, freedom of information is a thing too, but, as long as they don't try to prevent you from posting it on other platforms, they can say they are simply not supporting you, which they are free to do. Mr. Alpha's problem is that they HAVE to weight the system towards taking things down, to protect themselves from any liability. The issue in this video, amongst many others is less that they do it, and more, that it's hard to get them to UNDO it. Basically, they need better tools to fight/contest these things, and they don't exist, because they know the content creator has no choice but to come back. If another platform could rise to challenge them, that would certainly light a fire, did for Valve a bit when Epic happened, and only stopped because Epic proved so incompetent that they are not competition at all.

The only time I was scammed was in Diablo 2 trade back in the v1.09 patch days where you could just replace your item after confirming trade with no button cooldown. Haven't trusted anyone online since and haven't been scammed. That's not an indication of anything.
