The highly publicized court case between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, gave the world insight into the most intimate parts of their relationship. The serious and disturbing allegations brought up in this case along with the testimonies and witness statements from the former husband and wife, and those around them at the time, show that on many levels, they were aware of how toxic their relationship was. There were some red flags that were missed or even ignored that contributed to their volatile relationship.
Johnny Depp testified on what he viewed as red flags that he missed during their relationship. One of them being what he believed Amber’s true intentions were for the relationship. In her testimonies, Amber shared her experience with Johnny’s jealousy and controlling behaviours.
But more than that it was also revealed in both the UK and Virginia court cases that members of both Amber’s and Johnny’s families did not support the wedding. Amber’s sister, Whitney Henriquez advised Amber against marrying Johnny, and Johnny’s daughter Lily-Rose Depp didn’t attend their wedding.
Hindsight is 20/20, and even Johnny and Amber recognize now that they couldn’t fix each other, which they say is why they stayed in their relationship for as long as they did.
