Our second dip netting trip of the year takes us to the beautiful little town of Chitina, Alaska. The Copper River is known for its silty turbid water and Copper River Red Salmon. We harvest our annual limit of Sockeye Salmon just after midnight with time to spare and enjoy Alaska's longest days of summer.
We appreciate you tagging along for our Alaskan adventure 😀

They both will have aching backs for the next few days. Those fish were huge and some of those stringers must have been +120 lb. Carrying them up 300ft of cliff, six times, Eric is an absolute beast.

Having been to the Copper River with my son and seen the effort it takes to dip net this area, it is one of the most physically demanding and dangerous places to dip net. We set up not far from where you did. Great respect to you both, glad you timed it right and got your fish.

When things are funded by taxpayer money, they no longer have an incentive to be good at what they do... because their funding does not depend on their merit. This channel has 600,000 enthusiastic subscribers because they put in a lot of very hard work to make great content. That's merit -- the OPPOSITE of what government does.

We've caught many of fish in that spot. We call it the "meat hole". A tip we use for safety, is a rock climbing harness and attach the rope in the rear. Easy, safe, and comfortable. For packing this fish up the cliff, we use a dry bag - backpack, works perfect.

Eric actually smiled when he said you two would be fishing from high, rocky cliffs over the most dangerous river in Alaska....I thought, well, the fish don't have a chance. And then every time the dip net when in the water, out came a fish. Hard work but you got The whole 35 fish limit in one long go. EPIC!!!! Truly, one of your best fishing adventures. Thank you. Suzi

I really envy how you both live, completely understand how much hard work and effort must go into every aspect of your cabin and projects but you make it look so fun and rewarding, like it's no hassle what so ever. This brings back a lot of memories! I took my then 12 year old daughter with me to AK to do some work for a customer/friend. Part of the deal was that we would get some time to see and do things. One thing we did was to go along with his wife and some of their friends and watch them dip Copper River salmon. I recognized all the places you were and we walked through the tunnel before we left for McCarthy the next morning after camping out the night before, eating salmon sushi and a fish stew around the campfire. Loved seeing it all again!

What a tremendously satisfying vid! Packed and ready. First day (and night) out - catch the limit. Beautiful scenery and gorgeous day, Again, good scene/music combo. You're definitely getting the knack for wild harvesting in Alaska. Maybe next time a way to pull the catch up the hill - in a basket, bucket, something sturdy and stable enough to handle several hauls. Do you have a winch on the Polaris and can you get it close enough?

What a fun video! And all those fish in one (loooong and strenuous) sitting. Coupled with happy dogs, glorious weather, and good cereal, this was a top notch outing for you. As usual, beautiful and thoughtful filming and editing. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I know it's probably a given.. but please tell me you guys are going to make a whole separate video where you process all this fish!? I love these videos so much.. you guys are amazing at documenting these adventures, some of the shots you get are so beautiful.. and your editing is some of my favorite on KZfaq. It's so cool to see how much you guys have grown over the years.. and I'm proud to say that I've been here every step of the way

What an adventure! And catching all 35 salmon in one session. Very strenuous and then hauling them up the steep embankment. Beautiful large salmon. Majestic mountains and beautiful waters! You guys did a great job. Thanks for sharing it all with us. We'll look forward to the recipes you make with all the salmon. Alaska is breathtakingly beautiful!

WOW WOW and WOW . Good looking ( and great tasting sockeye ) plus they look huge . Also the scenery is awesome and you took some great shots . You really had to work and sweat for that haul of fish up the cliff but it will be well worth all your efforts when you're enjoying the meals your fishing trip provides . Thank you so much Eric and Ariel for sharing all your awesome videos . It brings back so many memories of the glory of Alaska . I live in Ontario , Canada but have been to Alaska 3 times and our last visit there we stayed for a month with friends we had met while we were vacationing in Hawaii . A great couple who loved to fish as much as we did . They came to Ontario twice to stay with us and their last visit we took them to the Bahamas to stay at another friend's condo ( that we rented from them ) for 3 weeks . Conner and Sarah loved it as they had never seen the Atlantic Ocean - and the fishing there was great as well . Unfortunately , Conner passed away 3 months later and Sarah moved back to Colorado to be where their 3 children lived but we still keep in contact . We met because we all loved to fish , clean our catch , cook it and eat it .

You two are stepping way ahead of the game this year. The more you do the more food you'll have., just awesome! When Eric was climbing up the cliff reminded me of a scene from the movie Cliff Hanger, Great strength and endurance and the Get Her done attitude! And Life cereal, I eat That, Todd Likes It!
