Dating a man taking care of his kids is not a concern for me......its the relationship with the mother of the children that's a turn off

So you think a woman who doesn't want to date a man with children is selfish? I don't think so. A man with children will always put you second. if you are okay to be second, go for it.

The only time I ever considered dating anyone with kids is when my self-esteem was in the dirt. NO THANKS! Call me selfish but the drama, the headache, the interruptions and dealing with bad ass kids you can’t discipline or have no say in would be a huge baggage for my life. My life is peaceful. Imo it’s desperate to settle for someone with children as a childless woman. You will NEVER be first. And in most cases his baby mama or ex will have more say than you will. They will always have a connection you don’t have with him. Y’all can have these baby daddies lmao It’s a no for me.

@@crystalcormier9376 Yup, I have a cousin dating a man with 4 kids and she has 0 & is also 10 years younger than him. She's constantly dealing with attitudes he catches due to his other baby mama's or the kids pissing him off, being put last, rarely can make dates or travel due to obligations with his kids, helping him financially when child support rips through his checks. She's finally waking up and questioning whether she wants to continue living this way. It's really not worth it. I also was in a relationship with someone with children before, NEVER AGAIN. It's like heating up somebody else's leftovers & trying to enjoy them & keep it for yourself.

So sad, such a stereotype on single dads. Same could be said for childless women in late 30’s early 40’s. Like what happened? Why couldn’t you lock down a man? Look in the mirror ladies.

@@stevetroxel7195 This comment was OVER a year ago. I’m now ENGAGED to someone with 0 children like myself. It’s peaceful here and no ex’s lurking around nor bad a** kids. Go cry to someone who cares, I don’t. Probably a bitter “baby daddy” - should’ve chosen a better mother for your offspring and you wouldn’t be a single father. Or maybe you chased her away. Isn’t that what y’all preach to single mothers??! 😂😭 “Leftovers” as Kevin Samuels would say, right? “Lock down a man”. Unlike men, women have community, hobbies and self-care days & aren’t *desperate* to accept the 1st man who approaches them. Most men will take any bit of attention/scraps they are given cause y’all cannot stand being lonely. I found mine. Now go find your wife and go find someone else to have the classic red pilled miserable talk with. Leave the bitterness in 2023. They are YOUR kids you created, now deal with the dating consequences that comes with it. 🤷🏽‍♀️🥳

Quad.. A good father doesn't equate good spouse/mate. Dating a man with kids is not easy...it's some extra stress on top of relationship stress. You also have to factor in the relationship with with the kid's mother. That's when ALL THE shyt starts...

Just because he going up to school and doing for his kids doesn’t make him a good man . Yes he’s a good man for his kids doesn’t mean he is good has being a good husband or a boyfriend

I don’t have a problem with dating a man with children. As long as they are not disrespectful, no baby momma drama, There has to be communication between the adults. Lay down ground rules, and don’t let the kids play you against each other.

Ladies..its not the kids as long as they are respectful. It's the "baby mama's " that can be challenging. A lot of these men out here dont know how to cut the umbilical cord with the kids mom....SMH 😑🙄

I dated a man with twins age 5 and stayed with him for 11 years, married for 3. The girls destroyed me once we married and they succeeded. I lost years of my life giving to 2 girls that ended hating me. I realized my husband never stood for me with any arguments and told his girls how bad I was…. It just became worse.. 2

I chose to be childfree. I have been married twice. First husband no children and since our divorce no children. My current marriage (married at 47 now 55) he had no children and didn't want children. I work with children. When it is done right it requires a great deal of responsibility and selflessness. There are men who don't have nor want children. I have couple friends who are childfree. People have choices

I don't want a man who does NOT have kids. Because a man with kids would probably understand that some of our dates may consist of Chuck E Cheese or Basketball Games. I have kids and he needs to understand I am booked and busy

@@lol.3460 Sure they do, but she even said it herself. She's booked and busy. If somebody said that to me, I would tell them goodbye. You don't have time because hey...you're booked and busy right?? Everyone has a schedule of things to do regardless of having kids.

I feel i would be ok dating a man with kids but he needs to have clear boundaries set between the baby mama and his current girlfriend... he also needs to know how to balance having kids and a relationship I dont have kids and dont want to feel im alone and you have two separate families so i say yes at some point if the man feels he wants to take it to the next level i think he should let the children get to know the woman only if he knows he wants more and its leading to more... also the woman needs to be understanding and i feel the man needs to be understanding and there needs to be good communication in this situation as well

I'm 37 and I refuse to date a man with kids. Period. Maybe if I'm a little older and still single and mens child or children are older, like 17 and above, that's more reasonable.

I dated a man who was a great father but a terrible boyfriend. If you want to date a man with a kid be ready to come second. You can't even blame him because it's either he's a good father and a bad boyfriend or a present nan for you but a bad father. Rarely can it be balanced.

If you don't want that man's or women's children, then leave them alone. At the end of the day the children will be there for their parent when that husband or wife has moved on. If you are an older man who marries a younger woman, make sure she LOVES and RESPECTS your children. Because if she doesn't, your children will have no say in your care when you are old and confused and that woman is tired of caring for you. 😏

I don't have any kids, so I personally pray if it's the Lord's will, to send me a man that has NO children. Real talk, I am 50 years old, been through some very stressful things in my life. I sho'nuff don't have the patience, time, money, physical, mental or emotional capacity to be dealing with other folk's offspring. It's by God's grace I'm still here! Lord willing, I just want me and my man period.

A man with kids from a previous relationship.. Is it a deal breaker for me? No. As long as the man has is taking care of his kids and has a healthy parenting relationship with their mother, it's all good. Will it be challenging? Sometimes. Every child is unique in their own way and creating a bond with them may or may not come easy, but if you are committed to being in a relationship with that man. You need to be committed to developing a relationship with his kids. Now Syleena... The courts? Why sis?! I disagree! The black family does not need the court system to tell us how to manage our family. The court system is like having an issue with your checking account, calling customer service, and getting stuck with the automated system instead of a real person. If the courts need to be involved, that tells me that the man does not have a healthy parenting relationship with the mother and THAT is a deal breaker for me.

Thank you! This is the answer. I’m appalled at these women thinking they’re gonna find a man without kids so late in life. It’s much easier when the kids are older than 10 already and there’s no momma drama. That’s my situation (12 and 14) and I’m not asking any women to be their momma. They’re boys and almost grown. It’s not a one sized fits all. It’s foolish imo to limit your options based on stereotypes and one bad experience.

Dont date one with lil kids... teens are a bit easier. the kids will be begging for mom and then theres potential baby momma drama. He needs to know when to put you first and keep his bad or spoiled kids in order if its going to work. Some of these kids no matter how much you love and raise them as your own they still prefer their mom and will resent you for being in the way...

I wouldn't want to date a man with kids simply because of the kids mother. But If I fell in love with a man that has kids and he is treating me with the love and respect I deserved and his children are teenagers or young adults I would consider dating him.

I was in a relationship for 2 yrs ...iam 4 mons separated because of the kids mom& he didn't set up any boundaries...I had a good relationship w his 3 kids..(1 from relationship inwhich the mom has move on w her life)(younger 2 kids mom w no man),always hve a different issue w me aka w him spending time with the kid's...she work at night with young kids and excepted him to babysit every night ..only issue was we live together...so, instead of her/ them finding a better solution to fit everyone schedule she would threaten to take him to child support and make him feel guilty for not being there!

Im sorry to say this but a lot a kids today do not have home training so they my not have a lot of structure in their life and theres really nothing you can do about it cause you are not the parent

I dated a man who had two daughters, one 8 the other 10. The mother was so spiteful and petty because she wanted him back (and I feel like they were still messing around). I ended up pregnant by him too. I don't regret my baby, but I just wish it wasn't with him and all of that drama.

Ok I been there I was I a relationship with a man n he’s older b he had adult children n they was good n he had grandchildren as well n I love them . But now I’m single I don’t mind a man who child or children bc I have a son so we a package deal just like he’s a package deal. Longs he’s active in his kids life and support his kids and involved in their life I’m kool but but let’s talk about the mom in some cases you have bitter baby mama oh she not gonna be in my kids life xyz or you can’t date nobody but it’s ok for the mom to do xyz . So I think a man should have bounce and the moms have to take the time out and get to know the new lady his life as well he should meet the new man in her life as well. It’s takes a village. It’s sad in dimes case that the mom n dad don’t get along or the mom mad bc he moved on n or the mom moved on. It’s pros and cons . Just have to be grown and get it together

Ya not agree w/ every situation of not being together to go through child support court. That is matters should be deadbeat or unresolved estate level. Much that they really have understanding and trust account for their offspring.
