Being a stealth character, I just use werewolf form as a panic button.

Note that you can feed on any corpse, not just the ones you kill, so if you cleared a dungeon and the corpse are still around, it's buffet time

Being a regular person in Skyrim is it worth it...

I remember werewolves were kind of my introduction to Skyrim. I was over at a friend's house and she was explaining to one of our other friends how to make their character a werewolf. I was addicted.

If you activate the Howl while feeding you can skip the feeding animation. It helps speed up the process a lot.

Is it worth it? Is it worth tearing people apart limb from limb, overwhelming opponents and causing complete destruction? Yes.

My first five minutes in Skyrim after the tutorial dungeon: "Oh, look, a giant!" *giant slams me with hammer, sending me flying and killing me instantly. Me: "........oh........."

I remember getting the gorging perk. I got it on my third transformation i think, then spent like two hours solid in werewolf form (that one transormation) and got all the other perks. cleared a few bandit camps and when i got tired of being a werewolf i cleared a drauger dungeon but made it through without changing back so wait for seven or so minutes after that so i could change back to human.

It was really fun to transform into werewolf when the Dark Brotherhood leader tried to intimidate me to join them. Or when bandits try to mug me.

Do a 'spirit of the wolf' where the character respects wolves, if he sees dead wolves he makes sure they won't go to waste and will clad himself in the furs of his fallen friends

Did you know that if your an Orc you can use the rage power (take half damage and do more damage) and then quickly switch to a Werewolf and you’ll have that for 60 seconds which added on to Level 4 of Beastial Strength will just do insane damage (for 60 seconds) which should be enough time to wipe out a clan of Bandits

always grab the ring of Hercine before becoming a werewolf

I really like the idea of vampirs. Playing werewolf for the first time right now....they are way stronger, the abillity to stagger opponents and hit them on the ground dealing way more damage. This breaks even low level characters on high difficulties.

Hey, if you wanna become a werewolf in real life you just have to French kiss your dog about 18 times. I'm almost there.

It took me a long time to realize how OP werewolves are. I never used it because I would get murdered in 3 seconds until I learned about the perks. Running and attacking is an instant kill.

Easy werewolf unlock: step one: talk to companions. Step two: become were wolf. Step three: kill everything near a hold to get more guards to come for you. Step four: apply points as needed. Step five: wait several in game days to turn human again.

Detect Life is sooo nice when you cant find that last enemy that is hiding in a corner somewhere.

Playing on PS3, I liked to use it to bypass overencumberence and then I could run like the wind

My personal recommendation for getting werewolf perks quickly without killing tons of innocent people: at first you can only feed on humans, so feed on the Silver Hand during that questline. They had it coming, and it fits the role play. Once you've gotten Savage feeding, head to Solstheim, and feed on Rieklings. They're weak and easy to kill, but there's tons of them so you get perks crazy fast.

You can use you Totem abilities to cancel feeding animations and still get the health gain from it, so in my opinion using totem of fear or hunt are far superior as the totem of brotherhood has a cooldown so you can't constantly kill, feed, cancel and repeat like the other two. You'll be doing all the damage anyway so the brotherhood allies aren't really worth it. I use hunt since fear has a level cap as you stated.

Might be a pretty solid lore pick to play as a pure mage using the werewolf as your physical defense

As another tip for when you are a werewolf, jump in the air as you interact with a dead body to eat it to cancel out the feeding animation. You will still get the exp, but you wont be sitting around waiting for your character to eat every dead body from a dungeon.

When I played Oblivion, I would always enchant my helmet with detect life effect...helps with sneaking (obviously) but it also helps if you're an unstoppable tanking beast simply to find your enemies faster

I do the same thing because once you have all four bestial strength perks you can kill a dragon with 2-5 hits, (using the sprinting power attack), depending on the dragons "rank"-normal is about 2 hits and at my current level, I can kill an elder dragon in about four hits, expert difficulty

if you are playing on legendary and a low level I actually recommend grabbing totem of terror as your second perk as a lot of enemies with great swords can still one to two hit kill you. It can also take some time before you unlock the other totems as you have to finish the Companions quest and then do a bunch of radiant quests for Aela the Huntress until she gives you the quests for the totems. End game you can have a huge army with conjuration and the twin souls perk and your werewolf summons although thralls unfortunately are dispelled upon transformation so the werewolf build is the only build that truly benefits from dual casting conjuration spells late game (imagine having a follower, a dog, two dremora lords and two werewolf summons running around with you.). The werewolf is also great for a no crafting legendary playthrough.

Nothing better than the druid build. Being a stealth archer with alteration, illusion and restoration. On top of that, being a werewolf. Now there are other perks that you can add too.

The fear howl also has a secondary use even after it no longer matters as a fear effect. It lights up hostiles on your compass as a poor man's detect effect if you haven't completed the companion quests. Of course it attracts those hostiles, too. That's sort of a double edged sword. Good if you can take them, because there will be more hearts to eat. Bad if you can't.

I'm not saying this isn't disseminating common sense (which isn't as common as the phrase would imply), but maybe you could do a video for the Vampire Lord and the Werewolf detailing the non-beast perks/powers/spells that affect the transformation? You know, like how half the the sneak tree actually affects enemy awareness outside of sneak, which makes stealth-beast gameplay feasible? Or how Quiet Casting in the illusion tree silences all power/spell use in beast form as well? Necromage for the Vampire Lord is fairly common knowledge at this point, but some people don't know that maxing the Mage Armor; Stability; Alteration Dual Casting Perks, and using Ebonyflesh prior to transforming can tank the unholy crap out of your transformation of choice. There's a way to buff the living beejus out of both transformations; from picking the Orc Race for Berserk, to casting Dragon Aspect before transforming. Even some item buffs, like Namira's Ring cannibal buff, can be applied to the transformation. Most people don't seem to realize that you can actually play Werewolves and Vampire Lords in the God tier late game. You just have to build for it.

The howl at the start gets completely useless when your level is beyond 40?! What the actual f*ck dude! This howl is by far the best totem power available! It's impossible to survive in the wolf form on a higher difficulty like master or legendary without this howl, and before everyone flames at me: Try it! You will see that I'm right! I learned it the hard way myself... You would wonder how many enemies will be affected by the fear effect. If you gonna clear a bandit cave and have the totem of terror perk even the marauders will flee. And that's essential for a werewolf because he has *no armor.* When there are 2 or more enemies coming up to you and you play on master or legendary you will die in about 10 seconds. That's because you cannot pitch all enemies to the ground at the same time and while you're trying to an archer or a mage will one-shot you from behind. I know that there are enemies who are not effected by the fear but that's OK because if you are surrounded by a bunch of enemies you howl once, pitch the one enemy that resists to the ground and shred him with your claws, howl again and hunt all the other victims till they're all dead. Coming back to the other two totem powers I can say that the detect life ability is as useless as a second tail, and the summon-two-other-werewolves-power isn't helpful when you enter the room first (which will nearly always happen) because all the enemies (especially archers and mages) will head for you first + this ability has a cooldown.

If you want to really quickly move through werewolf perks, kill a bunch of people as a werewolf, then when you change back use the reanimate corpse spell on the bodies, and it will register as a feed and you get werewolf xp

This is a bit late but the strategy I use to level this and vampire form is to change form while taking over one of the forts in the civil war quests, the guards on your team respawn infinitely so its a quick way to get the achievement for maxing out both or just getting strong fast, also avoids running accross the world to level these forms

Why is Vampire Lord form better than beast form? That fucking kill move. It happens like 75 percent of the time and just slows gameplay down so much. People say werewolf is fun, and it may well be, but that one fucking kill move ruins it.

I do the same, go for Savage Feeding first. A lot to do with RP, I play as a Nord and am careful not to feed on any human enemy. Elves and Beasts are fair game. Savage Feeding is also useful in Darkfall Cave.

Moonlight mod makes werewolf sooooo much more fun into late game. Any cave of bandits becomes a fridge full of lunchables in minutes.

I don't use the vanilla skill tree anymore. I always get the werewolf perks expanded mod, it's just SOO much better than the vanilla one.

The illusion perk kindred mage works on howl of terror also and if you get both the flame augment in destruction tree Idk why but it increase kindred mage strength by another 5 lvls making howl of terror much more effective because even at high lvls like let's say level 80 you will still get a lot of lower level mobs in the fight you can fear them then just focus on the few that remain werewolves are op if you know your build

Ya that's generally how I pick these perks too, but I mainly use the summons if I'm going to use totems at all

i went beast form once and i followed this guide and went on a hunting spree from whiterun to morthal. i got all the perks in one transformation and it took 36+ in game hours to turn back

I like to roleplay as a cursed uncontrollable werewolf by always wearing the cursed ring of hircine. And turning off the HUD so I can't use the map icons for guidance as I wander around chasing and killing anything that moves. Makes things more interesting and a bit risky when I go into a city...

Am I the only one that feels like Werewolf form is insanely weak? It seems like you just take way too much damage because of the lack of armor. The damage you deal is okay, but it just feels harder to play intelligently and the vast mobility you have doesn't do much for you since your attacks are melee based and the mobility is completely moot indoors. I must say it is crazy fun for the civil war though.

That's one of the things that frustrated me about Skyrim, is that once you are a certain level you can use fear, calm, or courage spells anymore because of level scaling, even if you have the highest spell, I hope they fix that for later games, because spells shouldn't become ineffective if you have a high level, if you need higher level spells that's fine, but if you have the highest level spell, then it should work on anything or most things at least no matter what level you are.

Huge fan Fudgemuppet! Werewolves have been my favorite monster since I was a child. I was maiming a 2h light armor more as mine. I love the control of terror I mean no one here honestly wanna pet it. if there in there right mind that is. XD So for RP purpose terror or predator. I personally don't like a werewolf summoning spirits. Pet peeve. I used terror till I was full power then predator for the sake of being a beast. All senses multiplied to that level. But I agree full heartedly companion during Beast Mode help mitigate aggro and up dps. Keep up the good work Fudgemuppet. Btw is it at all possible to make Vampire Lord melee decent or at least better. For years iv been obsessed with the idea of Vamps having speed and physical prowess. I know they're meant to be full on casters but that doesn't change my curiosity or interest in the idea of a melee vampire. Dracula Untold is a solid example of a heavy armor wearing melee vampire. However drain life is too weak for self sustained as a spell sword. And I refuse to use holy magic to heal I'm Undead after all it makes no sense they need a viable healing source. Bring forth the trolling!
