Having watched Dance Moms, my impression is that Melissa’s comments are completely in line with her character. She would do or allow anything if she thought it would help her girls get ahead. In my mind, this seems like a very Michael Jackson-esque relationship, and maybe Maddie was just glad for a break from her mother and Sia exploited that, or maybe Maddie just doesn't feel like she can speak up for herself. It's hard to say, but having watched the show and now watching this, those are my thoughts.

Just the simple fact that Sia whent from: knowing when not to take part in photos (or whatever) purely based off the looks on Madi’s face, and choosing not to do them….. to all of a sudden forcing her to play roles that she verbally confirmed made her feel uncomfortable?? … says everything to me…. The fact that she is keeping her from other roles with other people is also so strange and, as you said, She had a part in her life for a brief moment…. When she was a minor…. And now she’s like stuck. Which would be more of a loving family dynamic if Sia were to actually just be caring and not controlling. If she actually did treat her like a family member and not a possession…

There should be a law that child actors can only be casted in one role before there 18th birthday. Ex a child could be a actor in one movie and than they can't take any role in music, dancing, stage performance, commercials or any other movie/ TV show until they are 18 so that adults have less time to groom each child and the abuse will become harder to commit.
@Elsie-xu6ie
@Elsie-xu6ie 3 жыл бұрын
@@firstnamelastnamecanada337 Personally, I think 18 is too old. Some 16 and 17 year old actors completely support themselves. I think there should be better laws for child protection in the industry, 100%, but we also need to consider that some of the children and teens want this to be their forever job, and if they can't build up a reseme then they won't get that forever job they want. They should be allowed to have as many roles as possible, but it should be stricter who is permitted to work with the children, that's just my thoughts however.

Yeah this whole situation immediately creeped me out. I knew they had worked together but I had no idea Sia and Maddie had such a close relationship, to the point were what he was describing was making me uncomfortable. A grown woman does NOT cuddle with a 12 yr old she didnt raise. Its just wrong. As wrong as it woukd be if Sia was a man instead. I'm very much now convinced that Sia has issues and has more than "maternal" feelings for Maddie. Maybe one day Maddie will come forward. But thats her decison of course. Obviously we dont know for sure, but when you have any adult that is super interested in a child and simultaneously can MAKE that childs career, it puts the child in a bad position. (Epsecially if they have a mother that's more concerned about them gaining fame then their personal heath and safety.) And children are already easily manipulated by adults without the worry that their career wont take off without their help. This story just makes me sad.

When Elastic Heart came out it was queen and even compared to Nicki's Anaconda video. The argument was, if I remember correctly, that one is art and one is not...blah blah blah... First of all, Anaconda has I'm assuming all grown consenting women in the video to wear skimpy clothes and shake their butts. Honestly… I came from a home where I didn’t feel heard or cared for and adopting older friends and mentors has been very helpful. Especially as I was working at a company where I was the youngest by a decade, I would have hated people keeping me at an arms length and not letting me in… definitely would have added to my own issues with not feeling good enough or accepted. When I was 17, my oldest friends were almost 80 and my favourite people were in their 30s and now a decade later, I wouldn’t have changed a thing and I treasure those friendships. Remember “it takes a village to raise a child”? You can’t find a village that includes only blood relatives and people your own age. When I was down and out, having those people offer me their homes and a cuddle kept me sane when my parents wouldn’t. If Maddy comes out and exposes inappropriate behaviour then we can judge that but for now I’ll just judge her for her movie and reaction. I couldn’t live without my older friends. :)

However with sia it is grooming because maddie doesn’t seem to be scared of sia or is aware of what she was doing to her.

I mean an adult shouldn't have a "relationship" with a child that they aren't related to. Even if Sia isn't a sexual predator she's controlling and weird. I honestly have to wonder how long it will take for Maddie to realise all adults in her life are toxic in one way or another. I am 26 and it took me 24 years to realise my mother is super toxic and sort of Dr Phil show material, because she's not textbook abusive. At Maddie's age you unfortunately shape your view of the world based on how adult act around you and towards you, and even the oddest behaviour can become the norm until you learn better.
