Somewhat similarly to the last two videos in our gangster series, we know that the definition of a “gangster” film can vary depending on one’s own perception, however for our list, we haven’t included films like ‘The Killer’, ‘Le Samouraï’, ‘Oldboy’ or ‘Léon’ as we don’t personally consider these “gangster films” in the same light as the ones featured in the list. Also just to reiterate, to qualify for the list, the film must come from a country outside of the Anglosphere, so films from the UK, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland will not be included.

To wrap up our series of the best of the gangster genre, for our third video we’re taking a look at the 10 best international gangster films. Whilst go-to films such as The Godfather and Goodfellas come to mind when talking about gangster movies, the genre has been just as prevalent internationally, with countries such as France, Japan, Italy and Hong Kong creating some truly incredible gangster flicks.
