Your grandparents are soooooo right on! Here's a quote for you: "nobody can tell you, there is only one song worth singing, they may try to tell ya, 'cause it hangs them up, to see someone like you! You gotta make your own kinda music, sing your own special song..." --Cass Elliott, The Mamas and the Papas, Make Your Own Kinda Music (great song to react to, it is so about you! Be yourself, buddy, nobody can tell you who to be but you)!!!!!!!!!!!!

Specially the mid 70s to mid 80s stuff like - Do To Me, Don't Play Your Rock N Roll to Me, Little Lucy, Needles & Pins, Lay Back in the Arms of Someone, Oh Carol, Something's Been Making Me Blue, It's Your Life, Wild Wild Angels, Take Good Care of My Baby, Babe It's Up to You, Mexican Girl, etc.... Also lead singer Chris Norman's duet with Suzy Quatro - Stumblin' In.

Took me several times listening to this song and printing out the lyrics. I finally got! I know what it's about. Sad for him, but good for Sally who also waited 24 years - for him!. Alice a neighbor he loves but won't tell her, she is now gone. Sally loved him for 24 years and now has a chance now that Alice is gone. Well the entire 24 years but the older years into early teen years perhaps. It's actually a heartbreaking song.

I've watched your reactions to a lot of meaningful songs and I can see that they genuinely hit home. Just about every other reviewer has reacted to Chris Stapleton doing Tennessee Whiskey. If you haven't heard it, trust me, you'll be very glad you did. It's fun watching you react to "old school" from the 70's. I was born in 1946 so I've seen and heard it all as far as rock and rock ballads go. I"m also into blues so that's another genre I hope you'll visit. I've watched erery reviewer I could find on KZfaq and Dude, you're the Gold Standard. Rock on!

Does your grandpa have the albums? One of my big sisters played this on her record for me, I was hooked. Go look at all the songs on them and borrow them, listen to all of them. Around this time "The Bay City Rollers," were also churning out hits, they wore tartan clothes and long hair. I just can't remember the song names, I was a kid, and only heard them on the radio and countdown on the tv.

Smokie is a great band. Lots of good songs. I love them. I've never made a suggestion before, but I think you might also really like a band called The Mavericks. I Just Want to Dance the Night Away is a particularly fun song, especially if you do the video version. O What a Thrill, What a Crying Shame, All You Ever Do is Bring Me Down, etc. Can't go wrong with any pick, really........

Your Grandpa always comes up with great music suggestions for you! It's fun to watch you explore different genres etc., you should throw in some swing music. There was a resurgence in the 90's, check out 'Hell' by the Squirrel Nut Zippers or 'Zoot Suit Riot' by the Cherry Poppin Daddies, I think you would get a kick out of them.
