Soap making video for the Soap Challenge Club December 2020 - Lollipop Swirls : Beginner Category.
Please always follow safety requirements while making soap! Sodium/Potassium hydroxide is caustic and can cause burns on skin or on mucous membranes!
Remember to use your trusted soap formula and fragrance/essential oil blend because the control of trace is very important for this swirl - cannot be too thin or the colours will mix together and cannot be too thick or the soap won't push through to create this beautiful swirl.
The colourants I used in this video were:
Green - Spirilina, green clay
Red - Red clay
White -Kaolin clay
Essential oils: litsea cubeba, lemon and peppermint
Time links to the video:
0:25 Mixing of the lye solution and melted oils
0:56 Adding essential oils
1:04 Splitting of the soap and colouring
1:44 Pouring of the lollipop swirl
3:01 Unmoulding of the soap
3:25 Cutting of the soap
4:00 Finished photos
The lollipop swirl turned out great with the swirl more prominent towards the middle and at the bottom of the swirl. I hope I have created a festive soap for this Christmas! I wish for everyone to stay healthy and safe for Christmas and 2021 will be a better year for everyone!
