@TheScraftworks27 күн бұрын
Yes you can use soy wax instead, soy wax is slightly less hard and will melt at lower temperature. You would need to dry the fresh plants for it to keep its colour before using

It’s not necessary but it makes the tablets harder. To add colour you can use mica powder 😊

From my experience, beeswax doesn’t really have a sweetened fragrance to it. You can repel insects using essential oils that repel insects like lavender.

Is sodium hydroxide necessary? Or can I use freshly pumped milk? Also, how long is the soap good for?

Yes sodium hydroxide is needed to make soap. You need to freeze the milk or the sodium hydroxide will burn the milk. The soap is good for about one year at leastz

Maybe the weather- colder weather makes the soap paste harder. Have you used the same amount of water that is in my recipe? Lower amounts of water makes it harder too. As long as it passes through the zap test I think the texture doesn’t really matter. Thank you!

@TheScraftworks I want to try this recipe this week. What type of coconut oil do you use? Can I use virgin coconut oil? Also, I read that coconut oil can be drying and my baby gets dry skin. Can I increase the shea butter amount and decrease the coconut a little, or will that mess with the texture/hardness of the soap too much? Based on some research I did, I was thinking 20% coconut and 10% shea. But I've never made soap before, so...
