I do the same thing. People can be so cruel and callous and so quick to judge someone. The world needs more empathy. We are all humans with the same emotions. I have always had a deep sense of empathy and putting myself in someone's shoes and feeling those emotions. I always imagine them as children, scared and lonely. Imagine if all the children of the world grew up safe and loved. Kids come into this world clean slates, and they often become products of the environment they grow up in.

I worked for a time as an R.N. in a prison, and almost every female I met that was incarcerated for various crimes most notably prostitution all have nearly the same childhood story of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse. And sadly many of these women say the only place they feel a semblance of safety is in prison as long as they stay out of trouble when behind bars. Bottom line is these women are human beings and deserve respect and kindness for all the suffering they have gone through some since birth, and that is something we all can extend to them.

Totally agree. As a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner I took care of so many women and some men who had very traumatic childhoods. Without exception, the sex workers reported childhood sexual and physical abuse. The men in their lives continued the abuse and the patients saw very little of the money they made. Their pimps or “boyfriend” would provide drugs and kept most of the money. Then there were the abusive predators who use these sex works and treat them like crap. These survivors were coldly trafficked and my heart broke for them because how they lived at that moment was how life would continue until they aged out of the business, overdosed, or were murdered. I retired due to vicarious trauma and am glad I was able to treat these survivors very well and show them kindness at their time of need.

Same as you-no sleepovers and no going by someone’s house unless it is my 73 yr old parents. But isn’t that to much control? I slept at my friends homes, travelled by bus and ferries when I was 13. There were several situations when men tried to take advantage of me when i was a child far away from home, but I never let them do anything. I was taught by my Parents how to react, and always told them about every single strange incodent. A 14yo child is a big boy, a young man... if he won’t learn how to protect himself, how to react, he will be a child forever, and even at his 30s, abuse will hurt as much as if he was 6yo... You can’t always be there with your child. He needs a chance to grow up......

@@thecowgirlwithin well, that's not fair to say. but people should get their s*** together before they do decide to have children and bring them into a world where they're not even sure who they are. Too many young girls put too much emphasis on their sexuality. Sex is the least important aspect of a person's identity but the pro life zealots encourage women to keep their babies and not abort their unwanted children. for centuries men have been strapping women down with children they weren't ready for and it's time for women to have a choice. even though roe versus Wade made the right to choose for an abortion each state has different laws. Our current president even said that women should be punished if they have an abortion. We don't ask to be born, but we certainly should not be forced to live in other people's choices. A person should have children if they're ready for it. Unfortunately, too many are religious and are made to feel guilty for that choice. That also needs to stop. I am pro choice. If it doesn't directly affect you, it shouldn't be your concern. Creating a functional human being is not an easy job. It should always be taken seriously and with compassion to raise a child. Drugs, alcohol, prostitution, crime, etc are all unhealthy coping mechanisms to stop the voice in our heads that we are not worthy of love or acceptance.
@thecowgirlwithin

Angela Hall it is very fair to say! Not one of these people are raising their own children. Most are in foster care which is where they were molested, or left with family members that obviously didn’t raise them well. It’s a never ending cycle and you all can say how you want to hug these people which is lovely, but no one is going to really do anything! The only way to stop this is to quit perpetuating the problem. If you are so addicted to drugs you choose it over your kids Quit having kids!

There is a street in Austin, Texas that nobody hardly knows about called West Powell Lane and you see tons of women just like this poor lady who look sick, defeated & tired and every, single one of them is usually always accompanied by a fucking piece of shit pimp. They keep these women addicted, live off their earnings and beat & abuse them daily. It's heartbreaking, but if you try helping the women, they go right back to wanting these low life pimps & the street life style. They're so brainwashed by these creeps, who convince them they love them and will provide for them. Their abusive childhoods deprived them of knowing what love & healthy choices really are. All they know is dysfunction & heartache, so any cretin that shows them the slightest attention gets to be the rooster in the hen house, then these women get pregnant and do the exact same thing their mothers did. It's a revolving door of pain & suffering.....

Eric Thomas trauma is NOT easy to “get over”... they need safety, security, and mental healthcare for YEARS to relearn peace... and patience and people who can see their potential without enabling them. It is RARE that trauma victims (who often become addicts in order to cope) get this because people only see them today and not as the traumatized child they still are. Personally I believe the people that can overcome trauma are the rare exception and we need more grace and patience for the rest. And they may never heal... but they deserve to be treated as worthy of life regardless. You wouldn’t blame someone with broken legs for not walking... it takes time to heal. And if they were broken as a child and never healed right that requires emotional surgery and a lot more time and care to heal.

“I miss my cat more than I do him” I feel that. Oh how I wish I could help this woman. She was trafficked as a minor. She never had her mother. She had a psychotic abusive family member raise her. It’s a recipe for disaster. And yet she remains so eloquent and poised. It just goes to show what childhood abuse (sexual, physical, emotional, and neglect) can do to a person. It makes them want to run away so badly that they will accept sex work rather than go back.

If anything we should all understand that not everyone is so "sensitive" about the terms used to help connect with them. It is horribly sad, when females say how painful their life was with out their Mom and then they have children and the poor children have to live that same pain again with no Mom. My Mom was a orphan by age five. Her parents both died at the age of twenty five. My Mom, told me how painful it was for her, when all the other little kids had a Mom and she did not. My Mom was so amazing. She was the most loving, compassionate Mom, and just the best I could have ever had, and she never had her Mom. Her parents died because there were no anti biotics. It was not their choice of a life style that killed them. I lost her when I was 26 years old and she was only 54. I will never stop missing her until this part of the journey is over. My experience and my belief is every little girl needs their Mommy. I am so very grateful I had the best Mom. I was truly, blessed to have her. My heart hurts when I see children that have no Mommy in their life. I wish I could be a Mom to them all. I lost my two nieces, one had depression and drank to kill the pain but she became addicted to the booze and could not get a sober day for 5 years, and it drove her crazy she could not be a Mom to her children. She took her life. Now, her little girl is growing up with no Mommy. Her sister, hit the streets running by 16 yrs old. She lived in the streets for twenty two years. By the time her baby girl was a year old the state took her little girl. My family keep the baby. At age 40 my nieces heart gave out. The doctors could not restart it :( All those years of drugs and the streets must have weakened her heart :( Now, her daughter will never have her Mommy in her life. Drugs and booze and the streets, not only destroy the person in the streets but break the hearts of all who loved them. And to many times destroy their children's life because they are not there.

I learn so danged much about all walks of life on Mark's channel. The muffin crushing is by far THE strangest thing I have ever heard. I felt bad for laughing, but I actually lost it for a minute. Mark said "step on WHAT?"

I am so glad the interviewer SOFTENED his interview toward the end. It sounded more like a interrogation . Pamela you have more beautiful human traits than anyone I have ever met. You carry yourself with GRACE , DIGNITY AND POISE. Many of us are very PROUD of you . That takes a lot of guts to put it out on the WORLD STAGE . Thankyou Pamela. I live in Sydney Australia and would love to make contact with you. It would be a HONOUR To know you. ❤

Mark: please do interviews on people across the USA who are not homeless, drug addicts, but working, raising nuclear familied and still financially struggling. People you would assume are doing well but are not. I was in one of these families. It has always reminded me to look deeper. Don't assume anything about people. Thanks!

So sad to read some of the comments where posters think it's funny to ridicule her. She's exhausted. I think she still has to chip in order to live with the choices she's made. She says she's happy but her eyes and monotone voice say otherwise. I hope she finds peace at some point.

People are so quick to judge sex workers without giving any thought as to what it may have taken to get them to that point. They need nothing less than total understanding and compassion.
