Because they are evil and lack any ounce of empathy. They don't see the children as autonomous human beings with feelings, emotions and dreams of their own. They see them as toys to play with and discard or break (ie kill) when they get bored of them. They are very scary people and I don't think they can be rehabilitated. I feel bad when I accidentally step on a snail and hear the crunch sound. There's no way I could torture, abuse and then kill a child. It's reprehensible to any normal adult. Most adult's natural instinct is to protect children, not prey on them.

Not all felons have their samples taken, even when its court ordered. Really depends on where they serve their sentence or who their probation/parole officer. Also depends on the location and funding or how dedicated people are to actually doing their jobs. Load your DNA into Gedmatch and opt in so that the police can compare you to suspects. Gedmatch is under new ownership and one must log in and opt in or else they can't compare to your sample now

“He was trolling down the street and he told us he saw April walking down the street and he pulled up a block and waited outside his vehicle for her to walk by. He told her to get in the car and she did. He then took her to his trailer in Grabill, the same trailer he was living in [when he was caught],” Martin recalled. Miller sexually assaulted and killed April in his trailer and then under the cover of night, he took her body to a ditch along County Road 68 in DeKalb County. But there was still the question of why. Miller had told police he had pre-meditated wanting to take a child, but he had never seen April before the day he abducted her. “[I think he answered it] in an indirect way. He was looking for a child suitable for what he wanted and he saw her as a target and he jumped on it,” Martin said. “It’s scary to think there are people in our society capable of doing this. Had she been five minutes earlier or five minutes later, we probably wouldn’t be sitting here today. It could have been anybody, any little kid in that area that day and that was probably not the first time he had gone looking,” Hetrick said. Miller admitted to Detectives Martin and Hetrick that, after he snatched and killed April, over the years he had thought about taking a child again. He even went trolling through neighborhoods and parking lots, but he never found an opportunity. “To think he could do something so heinous as what he did to April in 1988 and then just stop, I think everyone was very skeptical of that and I think we tried to answer those questions,” Martin said. “We were very direct with John about other cases. We kept going over other cases. We knew there was no DNA match, but we were persistent with John to tell us and help other families if there are other families and he was very insistent there was not. It’s incredible that he went looking and fortunately no one was there.” (I went digging cause some of this was left not answered. He didnt know her he just wanted to do it and saw an opportunity and jumped.. disgusting.. Also he has been portrayed as slow and was sent to some sort of institution where he was supposedly raped.. So him being slow he took it as it was "ok" to do it.. crock of shit if you ask me.. Since he went around writing all that shit to other girls.. He even fantasized about doing it again. and has insisted that he did not.. only because he never got another chance)

@gennielinara2356

To me it feels like, yes, cases do go cold, but the ones that don't, still get attention. When you have people like April's family, and all the other countless families that Kendall has covered, this is what makes the cases stay open. And even though I could never give as much credit to Kendall as I can to the families of these individual cases, I just want to say, even though she already knows, that what you (Kendall) are doing, is not only spearing awareness about these cases to people, but also, keeping them in media attention enough to solve them. So just saying THANK YOU TO ALL THE FAMILIES OUT THERE that never let these cases go cold, and all the people who care enough about other people and see that they have a platform to spread a message, THANK YOU. You all are the ones bringing justice like this to innocent people. You really are some of the best human beings living on this planet. And thank you again.

I grew up in the 1980s and was in 8th grade then, when this happen in 1988, it was not uncommon for kids to walk to store alone or ride bikes to parks. My parents were the type they never let us stay at people's homes or roam alone. Now I look back and as a mother now, it just makes sense why they were protective. It was different time and there was cases of child kidnappers but it was always in other people's towns. It can happen anywhere but in today crime climate no children should roam alone. I remember this case and glad the killer was found he one sick scum of the earth.

My cousin was in prison with a lady that caught her house on fire to kill her kids, another one killed her child and cooked it and fed it to her husband. They walked around like they owned the place. People need to stop romanticizing criminals, because some may be good people most are really bad.
@pricklypear7516
@pricklypear7516 4 жыл бұрын
Just stop this bullshit. Men and women in prison are generally just people trying to get free again. They are not some superhero revenge squad to fulfill your frustrated fantasies. The actions you're so blithely advocating would compromise their quests for freedom. If you want someone's death to be "gruesome and painful," do it yourself. Imaginary incarcerees are not your karma-bitches.
@TeamFireWaterX
@TeamFireWaterX 4 жыл бұрын
Prickly Pear The original comment was not stated as a romanticization. It tends to be common fact in prison that inmates with horrendous crimes related to children tend to be harassed by other inmates, usually by bullying or gang-ups. Or they’ll commit suicide, whichever comes first. Does this happen to every child-harming prisoner? No, of course not. When it does happen, does it make the other inmates saints or superheroes? Also no. They’re there for a reason; the original comment wasn’t disregarding their crime, only acknowledging that a lot of inmates have enough of a head on their shoulders to know involving children in crime is wrong. It’s not an advocation to say that, nor is it an expectation. It just happens, and the hope is that fact applies here. No need to have a justice shtick over it.

Unfortunately, I also ended up being witness to a case that happened in Fort Wayne as well… In 2011 when our family friend Aliahna Lemmon went missing around the holidays and was found murdered… it really traumatized me knowing someone that close who was only a few years younger than me was killed… it’s so messed up how people can just do this to others… absolutely horrible! Sasha I took my kids to a park up in Northern Cali. When we were doing our picnic we noticed a plaque that looked similar to a grave plaque. The girls age was so young and the park was dedicated to her. When I researched who she was, I was heartbroken. Her trailor park use to be up the streeet and the community donated this park in her name. The story is so disturbing and different from the normal horrible stories we read about. Its a very interesting case! Thanks for suggesting it. I hope she covers it!

I am NOT a commenter. I am a true crime junkie though. And I am also from Fort Wayne. I was so upset to see none of my channels covering this story when it broke. This was huge for our city - this had tormented us for decades. I’m 26, so my childhood was vastly different than my parents BECAUSE of this case - particularly the notes. Thank you so much for covering this.

No this has been debunked. Many medical professionals say this but reviews of documentation show no difference in care or needed behavior interventions. People will attribute things to the full moon that happen with the same frequency at other times they blame on something else.
