My grandpa passed trying to help me. It’s hardened my mindset in life, I’ve never wanted something more. Just quit my job and dedicated myself to getting mentally and physically ready for this journey. It’s do or die for me.

5:35 I found kind of like a "mental hack". Before you think to decide something, first ask yourself if you should even ask the question, a mental "grand jury". E.g. you and your wife are having trouble, don't think "I think I want a divorce". First think: "Should I even consider the question between choosing divorce or maintaining the status quo?" Same thing about quitting whatever. Don't think, this is too hard, I can't go on. Think first: "Should I consider the choice of quitting or not quitting?" That way, your mind remains rational despite the emotions... And if your mental grand jury does decide to apprehend the question, you can rationally and logically stack up the opposing sides and make a decision considering all variables, rather than permitting your emotional brain to disregard the whole. This method is not necessarily going to make you not surrender, rather it should help you in making a choice you won't regret...

I when I started watching your video I wondered about the MAC-V SOG patch on the wall and I’m assuming that it was your dad’s time in the Nam. I was in the IV CTZ Mobile Strike Force (Mike Force) out of A-401 and was granted membership in the SOA as well as the MF Association. I had a similar motivation to complete the course because my dad was with the OSS in the CBI during WWII.

@@ValhallaVFT Lott was a full blooded Indian from the Northwestern tribe; he wanted to die a warriors death and Captain Mike (ret. LTG Michael Canavan), told Lott to get his company ready for a 30 day combat operation and to take the kid (me). I’d been at A-401 for three days and all ofc a sudden I’m going on an op WTF over.Paul, weapons, said to me, “son you look a little shook up I’m assuming you graduated from the Special Forces Training Group?’ I shook my head yes. Paul took me out to the perimeter of A-401 and handed me a M-79 and told me to hit the barrel out in the barbed wire, no problem and next the M-60 to load and hit the same target, no problem and then he said “no problem you’re ready!” Capt Mike was attempting to have me tested to see how I would handle the stress of combat. When I arrived none of my teammates would talk to me in fact no one acknowledged my existence. After the 30 days during which there were three contacts not worth writing home about. After we returned to A-401, Don Phuc, I took a shower and shaved my beard off and entered the team room. All of a sudden Paul handed me a cold beer and said welcome to the Mike Force. Apparently Lott told them that I was solid during each contact and the team had nothing to worry about; I now had a reputation. On a team your rank only meant what you were paid each month your rep was everything. I simply watched Lott and did what ever he did. Lott was cool, he was in shorts and flip flops most of the time and without a shirt. I had learned from the best. I only wished that it had been tougher on me for I only had one major battle. An NVA regiment using a human wave attack tried to overrun our perimeter. The thing that saved us was an OP/LP fired off a six found burst. Greg, at this point Lott’s year four was up and I took command of his 43rd Company with 112 Cambodians, Greg Skogland was his replacement (SF Medic). Greg put out the candle with his hand and shouted “show time” and I ran to my area of concern the South and West sides of the perimeter. When I arrived I could see the flash ofc a line of AK-47’s running toward me. I immediately called our HQ, B-40 FWD inside the B-43 compound. Maj Bridgewater was on the other end and told me to be calm. I replied, “I am calm but I need a Fire Mission, TRP House Rock car (we used objects rather then numbers, number could be fucked up but not objects , troops in open, fire for effect, danger close, I will adjust. It seamed like only minutes before three rounds hit from 155’s located inside of B-43. That stopped the NVA in their tracks but a few continued but were cut down just shy of the perimeter (the closest one NVA soldier got was 32 steps from the perimeter, that gut was bad ass. The NVA left behind a blocking force to hold us down as their main body returned to Nui (mountain) Cam their safe place.from start to finish the thing lasted about three hours and aside from 10 to 20 minutes of contact I never had a major battle. But Maj Bridgewater put m\e in for a Silver Star but our S-1 CPT Southworth told me that it would be downgraded to a BS with V or an ARCOM with V because I wasn’t an officer nor wounded. I told him I didn’t care I only thought throughout the entire contact that no one would be killed because I fucked up (we has one indig WIA, one of the OP/LP’s was hit on his return to the perimeter. It was downgraded to a Bronze Star with V, not a problem because I was more proud of my CIB which I earned on my first contact with father NVA during my first combat op with Lott. Lott and I stayed in touch throughout the years, I was crushed by his death from stomach cancer. Lott was the third teammate to succumb to stomach cancer after David Soucie and Greg Skogland Fuchs Agent Orange; so far I’m OK but I was just a tourist whirled Lott and the others had multiple tours. I miss all of them.

As a girl that'll be 18 next year, considering signing up in military(as a possible way to go down in life)and then after 4 years, figuring my way out, doing whatever is needed and getting into one of the special units(like 75th Ranger Regiment,Delta, etc. whatever I'll have my eyes on till then) i want to get things straight asap so i can start training if i am %100 sure this is the way i want to go down from, that I'm not kidding and tricking myself into something i by heart don't want, you know the stuff.Been hard tbh, have been researching and reading for days till very late hours, asking around people that may have knowledge and so I'll say i do struggle mentally and shit but give it my best fight, not sure at all if the way I'm doing it is the health/correct way which I'll not make myself believe in a delusion or lie that i end up regretting, but eh.Just wanted to share it out here because I know there's not many females especially people as young as me that plan on such a thing like this and actually already are trying to prepare themselves both mentally and physically.I don't have a family that I'll miss, literal ass, been facing physical abuse and all that shit my whole life so that's pretty much one plus i have, that's at least how i see it. Just really, really just want to make aure I'm not making myself go down a wrong path.Wanted to leave this here, please feel free to share your comments or whatever you have to say, much appreciated.
