Speed Twin Rides Mulholland Drive

In this video I finally make it out on the Speed Twin for a ride after some time off due to the excessive heat in Los Angeles and the whole Covid issue we are dealing with. this trip is of Mulholland Drive from east to west in its entirety. not the best scenery though it is interesting non the less!

Very interesting, thank you. Good for me as i have to stay off my Speed Twin for 3 months (3 months during riding season) after open surgery. So i enjoy videos like these, especially interesting in another land. Thank you for letting the beautiful sound of the bike be the sound track rather than heavy music. Strange for us UK guys to see so many STOP signs on the major roads. In the UK our STOP is when the road is joining a more major trunk road; or when there is are two equal cross roads. I remember seeing that first in a town on a visit to Hudson NY. It has it’s pros and cons, but i guess it slow the traffic right down, although I’d find it frustrating. Good video. Cheers.

Wish we had more weather like this in Blighty. I'm planning on buying a Speed Twin in the spring next year. Already got a few parts I've ordered from TEC sat in the garage. Can't wait, these videos just keep my excitement level high! Love the pops from the decel.

Had my speed twin for almost a year now, each time I ride it I fall in love with it even more!! I wish we had weather like that in the UK 😂 and roads like that where I live 😩

I have owned this bike since before Missendenflyer talked about it. The first time I rode one I was sold. Mine is not as heavily modified as Adam's. My bike has a Motone Xpipe cat delete, Weslake Shorty Pro mufflers, and a powerplug. I have over 10k miles on it. It is as reliable as an anvil. Anything I get to replace it will only be incrementally better. I am going to ride a Super Duke R, and will probably buy one.

Thanks for your video, nice ride! Got the ST now for a few months and must say, the more you ride it, the more fun it gets. Fortunately, despite the heat, you wear your full equipment. In Belgium it is mandatory, and a good thing too. Stay safe and enjoy your rides!

Yo! Il be picking one of these up next year for sure. I test rode one in the summer here in UK this year and absolutely loved it. Perfect power band for some fun on the streets and twisties but not so powerful that it scares the shit out of you. I've watched all of your modding videos and I really like these cruise style ones too. Something relaxing about it. I cant wait to own one of these for myself. I already have a list of mods I wanna do to it! Haha. Cheers for the vids bro. The bike looks and sounds lovely. I'm gonna do the TEC 2-1 exhaust setup. Sounds a beast! Edit: I wish I lived where you do! Lucky to get 4 weeks of this weather in total in NW England.

Im planning to buy a Speed twin in spring of 2021. I sure would like to know how the acceleration feels compared to say- an early 80s Japanese inline 4 like my 1983 GS1100E Suzuki. I would replace my Suzuki with the Speed Twin so its a fair comparison to me.

I have to get up there once the air quality improves. I like your calm riding style.....we should ride sometime and have a burger at the Rock Store once COVID stops being a dick. I have a Monster but I just always gravitate to the ST....love the bike!

Adam just wondered what exhaust set up you stuck with? I.e. vance and hines with or without the db killers? Sounds just right to me

Adam, please explain the meaning of the solid double yellow lines. Is it for no overtaking, as there are many overtaking opportunities on that road. But it seems the whole road is them ????

If there are solid double lines, you may not pass. You may only pass if the lines are not solid. (double lines -> not solid on one side means the drivers/riders on that side may pass.)

I’ve been considering getting a Speed Twin. In fact, the decision is between the T120 and the Speed Twin. Have you owned a T120? If so, how would you compare them? Great videos. I really appreciate seeing your build. You’ve demonstrated that there is plenty that can be done from factory with a Speed Twin. Thanks.

I have not owned a t120, however I’ve ridden one and a t100, the t120 is close to the speed twin but you can feel a bit more weight under you while you are carving canyons. And I’d say a T100 is a better beginner bike.

I had a T 120 for 3 years and loved it but this year I began to feel how heavy it was, so I tried a Speed Twin because it's 60 lbs lighter and bought one straight away, it's lighter, more agile, and faster than the T120 but make no mistake the T120 is a great bike.

No, the snake is actually on Mulholland Highway, it’s a bit further west and a much more entertaining road to ride that this one.

So speaking of heat, I hear that some folks are complaining about the heat coming of the Triumph 1200s, including the speed twin. Have you experienced an "excessive" heat issues with your twin on hot days?

It’s minimal in my opinion, I’ve had bikes in the past MUCH worse as far as engine heat.

I haven't noticed what I'd consider excessive heat off of my Speed Twin. It definitely gets hot enough to feel it on a really hot day, but I've ridden bikes that were a lot worse.

Hi - I have the 2018 Speedmaster - no heat problems whatsoever. But, there again, I am in the UK and our air temps don’t generally get too high either! Nice twisties Adam n thanks. Yours aye, Alan
