FILM DESCRIPTION:
Though Kevin (James McAvoy) has evidenced 23 personalities to his trusted psychiatrist, Dr. Fletcher (Betty Buckley), there remains one still submerged who is set to materialize and dominate all of the others. Compelled to abduct three teenage girls led by the willful, observant Casey, Kevin reaches a war for survival among all of those contained within him -- as well as everyone around him -- as the walls between his compartments shatter.

I heard James say in an interview that this scene was about a zombie apocalypse. In the story, Hedwig was in a nightclub dancing when the zombie apocalypse happens, then at minute 0:38 you can see when he is "attacked" and at 0:44 when he comes back to life as a zombie and is going to attack Casey . And all this was devised by James. A wonderful actor.

Everyone is praising James, but the intensity of this scene is portrayed by the reaction of Anya Taylor. The silent inhaling and then saying, "wow" in that manner, tears in her eyes that just won't fall out, were simply phenomenal

Casey's reactions to all of the personalities are perfect. One second, she's amused by Hedwig's cuteness and innocence. The next, she's horrified at what she's watching. Then finally, scared for her life. McAvoy was brilliant and deserved Oscar recognition, but Taylor-Joy is exceptional too.

Taylor T in his body, he has 23 or 24 personalities from being abused. He Hedwig is one of his personalities and they can switch to different ones. He’s not pretending, he is acting, but in this and other movies, the plot is nonfiction to the characters. So he basically in this scene is a oversized nine year old.

Up until know I'd never thought I would desperately need a whole movie of James Mcavoy playing a 9 years old boy. Congrats. 1:24 Also, can't help but felling sorry for Hedwig once he looks disappointed that the cd player he owns is old. Reminds me a little bit of myself when I was younger and poor. Thankfully I'm now older. Still poor, but older.

The level of detail the creators put into these personalities/characters is so good. When Casey grabbed Hedwig and he yelped "Ow!" That is such a 9 year old thing to do.

I literally just noticed this myself! And I was watching the scene in the next movie, Glass, where Hedwig is rollerskating and excitedely telling the girls that he gets to let the Beast out later, .... and then later when he is finally transitioning, Hedwig lets out some yelps, and grabs the back of his neck... Just like an Animal carries it's cub by the scruff of the neck too... lol... I didn't notice it the first time but every time I re-watch the movies, I notice even more details James puts into these characters. How he was not even nominated for an Oscar is beyond me!!

I was lucky to have James’ mentor come in to train us as directors for a week. He actually shared how he helped James to prepare for his Split audition and it was a jaw dropping experience.

Not many movies scare me or give me goosebumps, but this scene with James is completely terrifying. His dance motions away and then towards the camera, along with his facial expressions are truly the work of a genius/madman. When hollywood does another rework of "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" it better be James playing the title roles. Anything less would be unsatisfactory.

He has 21 grammys and 4 or 5 certified classics. His album MBDTF is on the list for the top 20 albums of all time and his widely regarded as one of if not the best rap album ever. You either don't like him as a person and refuse to listen to his music based on that or you don't like rap because you're close minded and haven't given it a fair chance, it's one of the two.

M Night said his dance is ment to tell a story of a person dying and coming back to life as undead. I don't know if that has a deeper meaning for the characters psyche but either way it makes this scene cooler knowing that and slightly more creepy too. Great movie
