Spring Mini Ride 2024

4 ай бұрынWho’s ready for a Spring Mini Ride? I’ll be hosting a 100+ mile ride on Saturday, April 27th. The ride is geared toward bikes with smaller displacement engines. Most riders will be on bikes with 125cc engines, but all bikes are welcome. Please make sure your bike is capable of sustaining 45mph.
For those coming from out of town and arrive early, I’ll also be hosting a “Bike Night” on Friday, April 26th, at my shop in Martinsville, IN.
The Saturday ride will leave from my shop, with kickstands going up at 10:00am. The ride will consist of mostly paved country roads. The destination is the Tulip Trestle, a 150’ high x 2300’ long train trestle, that bridges a valley in a very rural area of SW Indiana. We’ll stop at the trestle to refresh, have some lunch and enjoy the views. To make the ride more interesting, we will follow a slightly different route back to my shop.

FYI as I'm sure you know Morgan Monroe State Forest has a campground and that's a wonderful place to camp and our yard is always open for camping!

I had MMSF in mind. So far, no campers, that I know of.

Wish Indiana was closer to the west coast of California , I would be there for sure. I want to see more about that bike you have on your side, Perhaps your doing a video on it. Looks to have a big motor in it. Will be looking forward to the video for this trip

There will be a video in a few days, for the red bike on the lift. It’s a Honda S65, with a Lifan 125cc.

Maybe one of your subscribers out here in the west could organize a ride like that? I wouldn't mind an 8 hour drive for an event like that. Actually, I ride like that through Yellowstone would be great! Just a thought.

Yeah, I'd love to. But, even being retired, I just don't have the kind of time to head something like that up. I may contact some of the main Honda mini guys here in Idaho, and see if they want to do something.

@@MiniBikeMikeI watched “monkey roo’s” recent video, “honda st50 (patina bike)” and was great to hear how appreciative and overwhelmed he was about the package you sent him. Funny, he said if he could make the trip to Indiana from “down under” to meet and ride with you, he might not want to go back!

Funny, he also said he would like to travel to Indiana from “down under” to meet and ride with you, and that he might not want to go back home!

Last fall, we held it the second Saturday in October and that worked pretty well. I would guess somewhere around that time.

I'm putting a lifan in my ct90 and would like to know where to find a 12v battery that fits in the battery space on the biker. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, no clue. I always use the 3 amp battery from the local auto parts store and modify the frame of the bike to fit the battery.

Do the mini bikes have to be street legal ?

That’s up to you. A couple guys on last falls ride did not have street legal registered bikes and we didn’t have any problems. We are traveling on roads that you could be ticketed for not having a street legal bike. If you choose to participate and anything happens…..that’s totally on you. I will be on a street legal bike.

I’m planning on coming. I have a icebear champion with a 190 (still trying to get it dialed in). I missed last years ride. I’m only a couple hours away. I’m trying to get a friend of mine that also has a champion with a 212 to come. I’ll probably bring a stock champion as a back up and maybe a 1975 xl70.
