I hope you guys are having a awesome vacation!! We plan on coming up to Hokkaido sometime this summer. The weather up there doesn"t warm up until June. Japan has many local trains that allow one to explore many places without renting a car. For example, you can take a local train from Sapporo to Otaru and all the way down to Hakodate. On our next trip, we plan on renting a car and drive around Hokkaido for about a month. Hokkaido is huge with plenty of open spaces and places to visit. Have a great trip and thanks for sharing your trip with us!
