Жыл бұрын

Happy New Year!!! Hope your year is going well so far! This was our first mudlark of 2023 and we were quite excited to be back out in the mud. We were rewarded very quickly with something we have always wanted to find complete! Come with us on this chilly windy foreshore as we get a little giddy back out mudlarking!
If you would like to watch us use some of the items we found in miniature crafting, pop over to our second channel `The Miniature World Of Kit + Caboodlers` -
/ @theminiatureworldofki...
We have a patreon page for anyone wishing to support us.
We also have a Ko-fi account, so if you wanted to support us by buying us a metaphorical cup of coffee it would be greatly appreciated xx

I love when you both get so giddy! I truly can feel your excitement, and am so happy for you. Try using a 5 minute apoxie glue to add a stem to try and pull it out. It might hold long enough for it. I can't wait for your videos in 2023. They are always amazing. Great finds.

Maybe if you glue something to the top of the broken stopper you could pull it out? Something like a strip of fabric?

Don’t apologize for having fun and being excited about your discoveries. The little doll was well worth some giddiness! 😁 The only suggestion I could make for getting to the perfume is buying a very fine diamond drill bit and drilling through the stopper OR drilling into the stopper and using the drill bit (like a handle) to try and pull the stopper out.

Good afternoon ladies, thank you for another lovely lark, may your good luck continue through the whole year! A suggestion for getting the broken stopper out of the perfume bottle... first, protect the rim with some wax, then apply a blob of a thick adhesive (here in Canada, we can get a product called "Shoe goo ll " , it's very thick and " blobby" , anything like that should work). Apply the blob of adhesive to the top of the broken stopper and set something like a nail or screw into the the blob of adhesive. Let it dry and set for 24 hours. Then using the nail, gently twist and lift as you're twisting and hopefully you can worry the stopper out. Then all you need to do is carefully clean the protective wax off the rim. I have been successful using this method. Good luck! Pamela 🌷

Perhaps you could use a small diamond drill bit on a jewellery drill like a Dremel to drill a small hole in the stopper top. It won’t remove the stopper but you might be able to smell the contents through the hole. Drill on a low speed if you decide to try, good luck x

I was thinking along those lines, but I also thought it might be an idea to expoxy a new stopper top on to try and gain more grip to open it.🤔
@TheAmber52

@@pixiniarts yes another idea, I suppose it depends on how tight it is and would also have to be careful that the resin did not spread too far across what remains of the stopper and glue the whole thing.

A lot of people seem to swear by unsticking a stuck glass stopper by tapping the neck of the bottle with a wooden spoon. Don't know HOW that would work, but the good folk of my google search claim it does!

I would think drilling it out would be the best. Spear point bit, build a damn around the stopper with putty and use a lubricant. The suggestions are paraffin oil or water. Water so it doesn't contaminate the perfume. Thank you for the entertaining mudlark! So much fun as always!

How to get in the bottle: 18 gage diamond tip drill bit. Drill down (under water) through the centre of the stuck stopper. Once through you will be able to smell / dribble out the contents. If you wish to remove the stopper you can drill it a few more times and break it out or you can put a copper rod through the hole, bend it on the inside of the bottle and try to use it to pull the stopper free. As for giddiness, that is one of the reasons I follow you. I love to hear your joy. It brings me happiness and sometimes I need a bit. I'm so glad that you share your giddiness. Keep up the good work.

Another suggestion for your perfume bottle would be to very carefully drill into the stopper (use plenty of water to keep the drill bit cool and go slowly) to see if you can get a good grip with the drill bit as a handle to remove it or weaken it to break just the stopper to remove it. What a conundrum with the stuck, broken bottle stopper. One way I've seen that can work to assist in getting it out is to drill into what's left of the stopper and then superglue in something (maybe a screw or small bolt) and leave it to cure thoroughly for up to 48 hours. Then re-try your other methods, like gentle heat and do a bit of twisting and tugging! Good luck with it!
