A few months ago I went through Laotian Wikipedia using awful translation software.
So today, I decided to check again to see if the translation quality had improved. It had not. Enjoy more stinky exhibitions about some of the strangest named people you’ve ever seen.

It's actually the Laosian obsession with Buddha. They have a huge gap in their written records and architecture because Buddhism bans preservation of material things. Buildings were made of wood and left to rot, when their time came.

With some of these translations I'm starting to realize that Laotian Wikipedia may be suffering from the same issue that Amharic Wikipedia did, that no one's moderating it so people are just writing anything and everything, which is then compounded by the crap translation. All the Buddha references is one thing (I'm guessing they have a LOT of names for the Buddha so a lot of words could translate to Buddha), but the guy at 9:19 is CLEARLY self-promoting (or the article was written by an absolute brown-noser).

I am Thai, and my language is extremely close to Laos. I cannot comprehend what kind of sentences can be translated in such way😂 cuz Google Translate works just fine with Thai. I think it's maybe because someone messed up with tho se wikipedia pages and no mods ever bother to correct, or maybe because Google Translate works poorly with Laos.
