When my oldest sister got married, my dad saw that my brother-in-law made his dad his best man. My dad's reaction was, "wow, his dad is his best man? What an honor." Sadly, my dad won't get to be either one of my brothers' best man at their respective weddings since he (my dad) passed away a few years ago. :-(

I think my father never really grew up. Cause all my life, he put any woman he was dating before me. Even on christmas eve. So I had to make a hell of a decidtion...to put him out of my life. Been hurt too many times. I hope...no...I KNOW..if I ever get a kid...I be a lot better father then my father ever was to me. How the hell are you supposed to figures out how to be a man alone?

Never a hug or an I love you .didn't even show up at the weddings. But i still loved him and my mom. God was there for me.

We need more dads, I got blessed with a solid one who worked three jobs to make sure we could grow up in a safe place and he showed us his love. Gents, other men need dads and father figures. Yesterday i picked up my son from his mother 100 miles from where i live. I do this every week since i have him every other week. My car broke down at the base of the worst hill in our state. We were stuck out in the heat for 8 hours while my car cooled down. Me and my son played pinecone baseball, we went exploring in the forest and even took a nap under a big pine tree. I can say it was the worst fathers day i ever had but the truth of it is i spent that time with my 4 year old son having the best time innthe worst situation and I wouldnt change that for any other fathers day ive had.

My father is my rock, he’s the reason life’s worth living ❤️

I had tuberculosis when I was 16, I had a son @ 17 I was tolled I may have Leukaemia (cancer in the lungs) when I cured from tb. Tough, because after the 6 month treatment I had to take. I thought going to the doctors again for having something else would of been life destroying mentally. The tb treatment: I had to have 12 tablets a day for 6 months I couldn’t miss a set. Then I had mri scans, radiation scans every other week. 12 pots of blood taken every week for intense checks on my body. It’d make me faint everytime. Lost loads of weight. It turned out I just got sarcoidosis when I cured from tb. But I’m now 28 my son is 10 this august. I’m just lucky to be here today. At that time I thought I might not grow up with my boy. I love my kids so much. I now have a daughter who’s gonna be 5 soon and Everyone doubted my abilities as a father at the start because of my age. But I never had my dad around so I appreciated that because it made me realise what a good dad is. You can get through anything in life if you just tell yourself. But, where will I be in 5 years if I just hang on to this mud train. I might be able to climb on and sit in first class if I can make it up this mountain and over. Keep pushing if your going through sh.. prove yourself wrong. I did. ❤

(Especially since we lost our Mother at such a young age!) When he literally laughed at me after I asked him to walk me down the isle, I finally accepted that he was just a donor, not the daddy that I always needed him to be. Sorry. I never knew my father growing up and when I was young I knew I should of had one because all my friends had a dad but mine was never around or never called on my birthdays or was at my football games in high school or at my graduation and I didn’t wanna hurt my mom’s feelings by asking about him but one day at 23yrs old I asked what his name was and she told me so my search started and no luck for 4-5 yrs and I gave up until Facebook started but still no luck even my wife at the time helped me search in my 30s still nothing, then at 41yrs old I got a good lead and finally after half my life searching I found him and called his number on his profile and a woman answered and I asked if this was the number related to my search and she asked who I was and I told her my story and who my mother was and that he was my dad and she started crying and remembered who my mom was from school because this was his sister and she cried and always wondered what happened to my mom and she told me my dad knew my mom was pregnant with me because they dated in school at that time and his parents and my moms parents spilt them up back then and my side moved away and I got quit and said is my dad around and she said omg crying and told me he died 4 days ago from Lou Garret disease!!😞so after all my life searching and wondering why my dad didn’t love me enough to call me or nothing that I was 4 days late to hear his voice for the first time and come to find out he was a wonderful farther and wondered his whole life if he had another son in the world..that he never got to hold or love and this whole time in my life I actually had a farther that would of loved me like a dad should but we never got the chance!! So today I never let a day go by that I don’t tell my 2 children 19-13 yrs old that I love them so much!!!

I am one of those guys I do not have children but I do remember my daddy being hard on me and me hating him for it as a child and as I got older I look back I say hey I was never a drug dealer I never want the prison and then I thanked him for it and I told him appreciated it he didn't really know what to say I guess it was unexpected but I know where you're coming from I was also Outkast and a black community for having a father my parents was married and I guess that would make me feel kind of unlucky but like I say I'm glad all of it happen cuz I look back now and I realize all those kids is just jealous pieces of crap

Met my father had the nerve to not only request a paternity test which to me as a grown woman now I see no problem with but met me when I was 12yrs old since mom taught to be polite to strangers I was, then this man in a hat came up to me to say hello and shook my hand then walked away.... When I found out it was him from my family cuz he didnt hv the decency to say so the politeness went out the door. Later he tried to take me away from my mom in court..... Lets just say he probly regreted it when he saw how much I respected him that day never even tried to call me after that lol.... funny thing is my mom never talked bad about him it was all me... . He knew where we lived we hadn't moved since he last went by when I was a baby .. Never gave one cent to me till I was 17 he sent a $40 check to me LMAO!! I wanted to find him to laugh in his face but mom didnt let me cuz she knew it would get crazy. Zero love here for the jerk.
